It's been years since we've had Taco John's since the one on the south end of Grand Forks closed. I decided on an old favorite, the Super Burrito. Well, the one I got was far from being "Super" in many ways. I had ordered the "super hot" hot sauce. There wasn't any as far as I could tell. Plus, there was very little ingredients. No detectable meat, no refrieds, mostly lettuce. The kids working there were in a hurry to take orders and get the orders out rather than make quality food. I don't see any need to drive to the north end for that sort of crap. Frozen burritos are much better (if that tells you anything). read more

Haven't been back in a while, so thought I would revisit. I won't ever go back. Turned lettuce, overcooked chicken, churro was overcooked. Remember, just because th building was remodeled, doesn't make the food taste any better. read more

Do not go. The food took forever to get to us, it was cold when we got it, the workers were more worried about the drive through people when there was 1 person in the drive through line. Asked to have two tacos remade and they wouldn't remake it. Would not replace the soda that was watery. Not worth spending your money. read more

I never write reviews but I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I recently experienced at this store. I have also left a voicemail and email regarding this issue, but I have not heard back from anyone. I placed an order through the Taco John's app and arrived at the store shortly afterward. Despite my prompt arrival, I ended up waiting approximately 45 minutes before the staff even began working on my order and other online orders. During this time, I remained in the store and observed other customers--both inside and in the drive-through--receiving their food within 5-15 minutes of placing their orders. When I inquired about the delay and the prioritization of app orders, I was met with dismissive responses and no apology for the extended wait. However, I noticed staff apologizing to in-store customers for their wait times. This discrepancy in service is both unacceptable and rude, especially given that the app is heavily promoted in advertisements, coupons, and website as a convenient option for ordering. If app orders are not going to be prioritized appropriately, then it defeats the purpose of using the app at all. This is not the first time I have encountered such an issue at this store, and I am concerned it will continue if not addressed. I hope someone will look into this matter and implement solutions to improve the app ordering experience. read more

No customer service. Had to order from a screen. Had a question, had to yell back in the kitchen. They yelled back. Trash is overflowing and a dirty floor. Still waiting on food. read more

I wanted to really really like this place. I prefer patronizing smaller chains or hole-in-the-wall locations vice the big franchise chains that dominate the landscape of American cuisine. Having said that both my chicken taco and chicken quesadilla were satisfactory. They were certainly better than the more well-known competitor chain. But only marginally frankly. I bet their reviews would dramatically improve if they reviewed their ingredients and meal prep process. However it is a decent spot for Mexican fast-food in the heartland. read more

Trash food. U can buy better frozen tacos/burritos in store. Taco Bell is waaaay better than this. N taco bell isn't that great either. Long wait basically a waste of time, and way over priced for nasty stuff. read more

I've been to a few Taco John's before, this poor location is at the bottom of the totem pole. You don't walk into a place like that expecting gourmet, but you're spending money so you have to expect SOMETHING. The food: I was very surprised with how bland the food was. The texture was fine, but everything tasted toned down. Somehow my potatoes with the dipping cheese tasted watery. I don't even know how that happens. Boneless spicy wings looked like they were coated with lip gloss instead of sauce so I expected a nice kick there....but nothing. Hot Cheetos are hotter. Food took almost 10 minutes to come out and it was still wrong. The staff:Give them an inch and they take a mile. I always like being nice to whoever helps me. Why wouldn't you, right? I was being friendly and asked which of the boneless wings were hotter and I was told it was the habanero instead of the ghost pepper. I made a joke about my surprise and the employee then thought it appropriate to notify me of what heat level I could handle. Last time I checked, you don't know that from a person you've known for 2 minutes. There was some continued bantering while waiting for my food and it just made the whole situation odd. This place is a Joke anyways, high priced food that's soggy. But my issue is be careful using your debit or credit card. We had a visit here over a week ago and then all the sudden our cars was charged again a card with no funds in it so it cost us a penalty on top of taking money out for something we didn't even buy! They blamed their system but I questioned that, someone stealing from inside? Anyways be careful using a card here. read more

I just got a 6 pack and a pound. The potato oles were hot, and delicious. Although all of my tacos were cold to the touch, I had to microwave them after my less than 5 min drive home. My potatoes were still very hot, but the meat was very cold. Will never go here again read more

This was my first and last trip to a Taco Johns. The employees were friendly and fast, but food was horrible. I ordered 2 chicken street tacos and chips with queso. Sounds simple and delicious right? The tacos were just sad. Tiny amount( like maybe 4 bite sized pieces each) of dry, oddly textured chicken, pico and a bit of shredded iceberg lettuce. Only thing that made the tacos remotely edible was the garlic sauce lightly drizzled in there. The chips had a very visible layer of fine salt covering them all, so much so that I wiped off each chip individually to keep the sodium from elevating my blood pressure and killing me. Maybe I missed it stated somewhere on the menu, but I have never had a fast food place put a scoop of refried beans and taco meat in my cheese sauce before and simply call it queso. Usually the name would indicate it has something other than cheese. I scooped the meat( I don't eat beef) and most of the beans out before smothering my chips in the basic, orange, nacho cheese sauce. Usually I give new to me places a second or even third chance, but O/10 will try this place again. read more
