I haven't been able to go to a taco John's for three years, since I moved to FL. I was so beyond excited to get my Taco John's as soon as i got off the plane! They didn't disappoint. They were a little busy, but did a good job acknowledging us waiting to order and came over as soon as they could. They have lots of menu options from breakfast burritos, scramblers, to super nachos, crispy chicken, several combo meal options: 2 softshell tacos, burritos, taco bravos and combo meals come in small, medium or large size for drink and potato oles. They got the food out in a good time. The potato oles were hot, crispy and wonderful! My favorite, the taco bravo was just how I remembered. The hard shell taco is wrapped in a softshell with refried beans as the 'glue'. The meat had good seasoning and perfect portion. I could have used a little more tomato on top though. They have a complimentary salsa bar with a mild, medium, hot and pico. The mild was very mild for me. Go with the hot green sauce for some heat. They had plenty of booth seating available and the restaurant was very clean. I would love to come back here anytime! read more

My third visit after moving to this area and I threw up when I got home. Called to inquire about a refund but she said she couldn't do that. Maybe it was the fiesta sauce? idk. Not going back even though I did like the store and the employees. Should probably fix that broken speaker in the dining area. read more

So annoyed. Asked for a side of guac and this is what I got. Be so for real. Literally playing in my face with this. Also the guac used to come in the same container as the nacho cheese, which is way bigger. Not sure when that changed. Not happy!! read more

went to the drive thru window on a sunday night and sat there for 4 or 5 minutes before anyone took my order. the employee door was open next to the drive thru window and there were two vehicles parked near the door with their doors open. could smell weed smoke, employees were getting high instead of taking my order. ive had terrible service at this store several times, one time had to go inside because nobody answered at the drive thru. went to the counter, could see a few employees gathered around the back of the kitchen. made eye contact with one of them. stood waiting to be served for a few minutes and nobody came to the counter. it's not like they were busy, there was nobody eating inside the store. place is a joke. whoever manages this place should be fired. read more

My husband worked at Taco John's in high school so we stop every chance we get, which isn't often enough since we only are around Taco John's when we are traveling. This is a great location. The people working greet you warmly and provide quick service. The food is consistently good. Potato Oles are delicious- you have to try them! My husband loves the Taco Bravo which is a soft taco and hard taco combined. I like the regular crispy tacos and also love the churros. They have a salsa bar which is a cool addition. Very friendly crew and clean for my first ever visit. Oh my, the food quality is terrible. Chicken tacos consist of two battered and deep fried tenders with some sort of orange sauce on a flour tortilla, oh, with lettuce. The combo that I ordered included over processed and deep fried tater tot like potato. Visit this restaurant for the friendly staff but stear clear of the chicken taco. Bad! Went through the drive through tonight ordered 3 soft shell beef tacos only meat and cheese a medium ole and Mexican donut bite. After she read the order back to me like I ordered it I received 3 soft shell beef with lettuce and a small ole. Restaurant is now closed and I can't have lettuce. read more

This is not the type of place that excites me when it comes to lunch. But it is a refreshing change of pace from burgers and pizza. It's first time ever I've been at any Taco John's. When I ordered large, I couldn't believe the size of my drink and Potato Oles! And the tacos weren't bad. A good deal! The place was kept very clean and the staff was friendly. Not a lot of seating inside and parking is limited. Not a big deal to me. As I do plan on returning in the future. read more

Mehhh, I got two hard shell crispy tacos and bacon and cheddar Oles with the biggest drink I've seen from a fast food place in awhile. The Oles were great, fresh out of the fryer. The tacos weren't very good, they were cold, they reminded me of my high school cafe tacos, and the ingredients weren't placed very evenly on the inside. So go to taco bell (or better yet a real Mexican restaurant) for tacos, but stop by Taco Johns to try the Oles. read more

I met the nicest man there. He said he was a regular there and that I should try the fish tacos so I did. His adorable son suggested the tater rounds. It was a delicious meal! He even informed of Club TJ- I signed up and received coupons by email the next day! I will definitely return here and will now follow that nice man on Yelp for more fabulous suggestions! read more

Had great experiences at other locations in Kansas and Nebraska, so stopped by one while in the Quad Cities. Used my coupon from a previous visit to get a free Soft Shell Taco and added their potato oles which I hadn't had yet. The person at the counter was friendly and prompt. No problems procession the coupon. Food was tasty and consistent as at other locations. The potato oles were good, with a hint of spice to them. Too bad they don't have locations on the East Coast. read more

Husband suggested that we go! I was a first timer at Taco John's. After the first cold taco I didn't want to eat anything else I ordered. The hash browns had a greasy after taste and could stomach those either. Not only could my mouth NOT stomach the taste neither could my stomach. After about 30-40 minutes my colon was cleansed. I also have to eat at one of these restaurants when I come back to the Quad Cities to visit family. Today we happened to be at Northpark Mall so I stopped here. Simple order: Beef & Potato Burrito combo with extra seasoning on the Potato Oles and nacho cheese for them. Only downfall is they have pepsi products and only offer diet pepsi which is the world's most terrible flavor of soda. They need to add Diet Mountain Dew or some other carbonated alternative. Burrito was built well, held together for entire duration and potatoes were cooked to perfection. read more

I fell in love with Taco Johns in my hometown of Dubuque, IA. When I moved to Davenport, IA several years ago I was pleasantly surprised and happy to see that there is one here too! I absolutely adore their Potato Ole's. Churros, Chicken Fajita burritos, Beefy Burritos and of course their Super Burritos! If you find one in your local area, GO! It's as close to a real mexican restaurant only faster and has a drive thru! Their staff are friendly, helpful and very peppy, I love each experience and I have commented to the managers several times upon their drive thru employees! Only downfall I see to this great fast food place is there is only one in the Quad Cities and it just happens that it's way on the other side from where I live! I wish there were more! :) read more
