Unfortunately, it was on the opposite side of the road so we had to turn around. The place was not crowded when we went in but had a few tables occupied. We ordered our food and sat down. We got presented with chips and salsa - very surprisingly delicious salsa! The food followed a few minutes later and we must have been hungry because the food disappeared pretty quickly. I had the beef street tacos and my wife ordered the puffy tacos. Mine were delicious by itself or with the sauce that were in squeeze containers. No matter, my beef tacos were good. They were full of meat with onions and cilantro. The cilantro was optional but I wanted it. My wife almost licked the plate. We probably need to come back and try the others on their menu. As for the ambiance, it's bright with a tall ceiling. It's located on a very busy corner - 46 and Main St by Cypress creek. Parking is in the back and you need to know Boerne well to find it. Overall, this place has good delicious food. We promised our relatives who are visiting us soon that we will take them here.

The crispy tortilla chips paired with their salsa were excellent, with bold spices and flavors that really stood out. The Welas Taco Special never disappoints! The staff was professional, friendly, and provided exceptional service from start to finish. Another thing I really enjoy about Compadres is the atmosphere. Even waiting in line is part of the experience--it's always a plus meeting new people, talking about good food, and hearing their stories while you wait. Great food, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Compadres Cocina is definitely worth the visit, and I'll absolutely be back!

We decided to give this place another try based on convenience to our location…read more Unfortunately you should be prepared for an unfriendly staff, and slow service. The menu is on par for Boerne, overpriced serving mediocre food. A pint of refried beans $7.50, served very runny, these are the bag of pre- cooked beans from a supplier, they evidently used an improper amount of water for reheating. The tortillas are $10.20 per dozen, which is hard to justify considering most places charge less than half that price for fresh tortillas. We also ordered their Mexican plate $15.99, the taco was served sitting in gravy-soggy shell, cheese enchiladas were okay at best, and again the beans were runny-watery. The chips obviously come from a bag, and many were broken into small pieces. The salsa was actually good, but served in squeeze bottles instead of bowls. This visit confirmed for us that it's worth passing up, despite the convenient location, I'd rather drive an additional 30-minutes farther to San Antonio where you actually get quality food made from scratch in-house at less than half the price with welcoming staff. Unfortunately, Boerne seriously lacks quality restaurant options, and this is just another example.

Service is hit or miss, most of the time we get a good server, but this location tends to get busy. It is cold inside the restaurant, every time we have visited. The chips were good in the past, but lately they have been changed! The "new" chips arrive to the table with tiny, broken pieces, barely large enough to dip into salsa or queso! Sadly, too, as the salsa and queso are amazing! Hopefully they realize this and go back to what was desirable in chip world. Margaritas - the house margarita on the rocks hits the spot! Enchiladas are always good, verde, mole, con crema, gravy sauce - and the chicken is very good, tender and seasoned well. We were charged $19.47 for 3 beef fajita tacos that were very very skimpy. We ordered the 4 oz container of guacamole that was 4.29 and it was not even close to being full. If you check beef prices you will see we can get about 1 1/2 lbs of fajitas for $19.47. The sausage/egg taco for $2.99 wasn't worth it either. There wasn't anything very good about the tacos. I hate to see what is happening with the other food. We will not be going back there. Other places give more for better prices. Otherwise from now on we will be making our breakfast tacos at home. There was 1 car ahead of us and nobody behind us when we got there at 9:54 am which is well past the breakfast rush on a Thursday. By the time we got to the window there were a few cars that pulled up behind us. We only placed an order for 5 tacos yet we were asked to pull forward and had to wait around 5 minutes for our order.
