GET THE GANSITO ICE CREAM NEXT DOOR!
    Julisa W.

I'm a gremlin and ate all the food before taking a picture but what a pleasant surprise this restaurant was! My partner wanted a quick bite, suggested Taco Bell. About kicked her out of the car, so we decided on taco boom. The flavor was incredible! Service took a while but we just went next door to Heidi's (not on Yelp for some reason, so I will add photos from that! If you bring your receipt from taco boom over, you get a discount. Don't forget to do that!) so I assume they're somehow connected. Hard to tell. (Do not recommend the elote in a cup over there but the ice cream I'm still dreaming about! The dining area was outside but it was like a pleasant picnic. Wouldn't mind coming back and it's close to home. My partner went for the burrito Diablo and quit talking to me if that tells you anything. I got the taco chignon special and it was quite filling. Quick and easy stop in Chicago!

I've been driving past Taco Boom Truck for what feels like forever, always catching a whiff of grilled meat or seeing a small line of people and thinking, "One day I'll stop." Well, I finally did, and man, I should've done it way sooner. It's a simple setup, parked off the road, colorful, and always smelling amazing. People were hanging out, eating, and the service was quick and friendly. The guy at the window even gave me some salsa tips when I told him it was my first time. I went with two carne asada tacos. No exaggeration, the meat was so tender and juicy, with this really nice char on the edges. You could taste the seasoning in every bite, nothing overpowering, just that good mix of garlic, citrus, and smoky flavor. The tortillas were warm, soft but sturdy enough to hold everything together (no taco explosions, which is always a win). The green salsa? Wild. It started off kind of mild, then hit with this spicy, peppery kick that crept up in the best way. It had some creamy avocado vibes too, which made it super addictive. Honestly, I kept dipping even after I ran out of taco. If you're in the mood for solid tacos that hit all the right notes, Taco Boom is 100% worth the stop. I already know I'll be back.

    Birria tacos!

Omg! Birria was so flavorful, plenty of cheese too! I ordered them on flour tortillas and they did not disappoint. I had 2 and it was plenty of food! Love that they are doraditos! (A bit crunchy) so they won't fall apart in the consomé! Will be back! Ohhh!!! The service was so good, personable, sweet sweet server/owner! I'm so glad we came back!

I ordered a lg consume preparado and a stk burrito for me & my son to share. Everything, no sour cream on the burrito. Honestly, I just had the consume and my son had a quarter of the burrito. Both my son & I shared the consume bcuz it was that good; they added chopped onions, cilantro and it had little stringy pieces of birria in it, it was just soooo delicious. For $4.50 a cup who can beat that delicious Mexican soup special. Hope this review encourages more clientele to visit this hot spot. ;)

Do not sleep on this bomb food truck!!! They use very good quality meat and you can definitely taste it! The meat is cooked just right to the point where it is so juicy as you take a bite. they give you a green and a red salsa and both are just delicious ! I only tried the tacos de asada , but i will be back for their birria! Make sure you all go try those bomb tacos out!

Pizza after the first delicious bite!

Whoa mama, it was good! My bf got 2 carne asada tacos and it was the quesabirria pizza for me. First, the tacos. Large pieces of steak, juicy, well seasoned and not at all tough. I was pretty impressed and they had different variations for the steak tacos. Now the pizza. SO MUCH MEAT! Juicy and tender, loaded onto the tortillas that are used as "crust". The piece was very reasonable because one of the 4 pieces they cut it into easily had double the meat of a standard taco filling anywhere else! Just enough spice to give it a little kick and I didn't find it overly salty which is usually an issue for me at most places. The consomme comes in a cup with a lid and a piece of lime. This was also so tasty that I ended up drinking what was left like a regular soup. My suggestion is def don't pass on a birria product and ask for an extra lime or 2, trust me!

I wasn't impressed nor dissatisfied with my visit here. To their benefit I didn't consume their birria until one day after I purchased it so take my opinion with a grain of salt as it wasn't fresh. The birria smelled amazing but the flavor was sort of muted for lack of a better word. The chicken taco had great seasoning & tbh tbh it's one of the best & only corn tortillas I like. The food is made to order so be prepared to wait. I like the price points because everyone in your family can get something here & you'd still be well under $50 which is rare especially downtown. My hunt for holy grail tacos continues.

Woah! Stopped for a taco. I'd heard about this truck before. Finally got to try. Man this was one killer taco. Had steak. And the tortilla was different. Seasoned? Maybe. I am coming back! Great prices too. We ate in the lot.

I have come here before... food has been good in previous visits. However, yesterday I received burnt food. Can't call to let them know. So by the time I seen it I was too far to go back. Not even sure if I will go back after this. Cook had to of questioned serving this. It's the pizzabirria, which is made with flour tortillas. Not a good burnt taste.

I'll be excited to watch this new season starting this coming Sunday. I looked at their schedule and saw they were at the Brookfield Farmers Market. They weren't busy on Saturday morning. Service was very quick and friendly. Reasonable prices. $7-8 for the kinds we ordered. We got a Belgian dream and a cherry mama. I appreciate the fresh ingredients. Waffles themselves were not soggy and required little cutting. Belgian dream has banana, strawberry, house vanilla cream, and Belgian chocolate. Cherry mama has cherry jam, house vanilla cream, and luxardo maraschino cherry. The jam was not heavy and not super sweet. House vanilla cream was light and had a good flavor.
