I have been going to this place for many years - both in its current location and the previous one in Dandenong. It may have the odd off night but it's usually great!. We usually go through the week because a Friday or Saturday night are crazy busy. Meals are well prepared and generous in quantity, alcohol and food prices are both decent - you just need to ask if you want spicy is all. Best Mexican on this side of town for sure.

I was a little disappointed. I'm not sure if its because i've gotten older and my expectations have increased or if it has gone downhill. I think its a little of both. This place has the usual tacos, fajitas, enchiladas, nachos and burritos. It is definitely more of a family restaurant than a dining experience. I ordered the quesadilla without cheese or sour cream (as i'm vegan). The meal was fairly bland and seemed very soggy. I'm not sure if it was microwaved or not. Considering i had no cheese or sour cream, i would have thought i'd have gotten a good serving of guacamole, but i barely got any. Considering i was charged the same price i thought i should have got some extra guac. The margaritas were stock standard mexican frozen margaritas. Again these were pretty disappointing and not sure that there was any tequila in them. However that said, they were very cheap $5.50. Overall, this place is probably more suited to families on a budget who want to go out for a meal. The food wasn't terrible, but definitely not worth the $19 i paid for my quesadilla. Think i'll

Pj's is located off to the left of Maroondah Highway before you hit Eastlink and there is some parking out the front of the restaurant. With both indoor and outdoor seating available, Pj's was packed Saturday night but we managed to snag a table at the back. The servers seemed a little flustered as there were quite a few larger parties ordering and we were repeatedly asked if we would like to order when we already had but hey I'd rather be asked than left there hungry. A complimentary teeny tiny bowl of corn chips kicked off our night and we ordered a strawberry milkshake and a glass of sangria to quench our thirst during the wait for food. Fish taco- squeeze the lemon onto the crispy fish and we have a winner. Beef taco-best taco out of the 3 as it was juicy and the beef was very tender. Chicken taco- a bit dry but I drenched it with chilli sauce yum! Combination special enchilada -Spinach and potato mixed Ice cream nacho - dusted with cinnamon sugar, the vanilla ice-cream was drizzled with honey and matched with a side of tia maria. This wasn't quite what I expected, it was more bland as I imagined that the "nachos" would be more like cinnamon toast crunch pieces. We did finish the whole thing but it got a bit too sweet towards the end. I'm glad we made an emergency food stop and stopped here as I enjoyed it. I like how you can choose a soft tortilla or hard taco shell and although not exactly like the street tacos in Mexico, this was much better than some of the taco's i've had in Australia that are drenched in sour cream and overdone.

The shop itself is very unassuming - a diamond in the rough. Juanita (or who I assume is Juanita? Should have asked! ... ) was very friendly. She made us feel very welcome and ensured we had everything we needed. We tried the taco mix, pork and chicken tacos. The tortillas were rustic. They come with an array of sides (& plenty of them!) including a pineapple/cucumber salsa, a cabbage slaw, some diced onions, coriander, tomatillo with avocado and chipotle sauce. There was also a couple of Juanita's home made sauces on the table to use. We enjoyed it all! Although quite full we couldn't resist trying the salted caramel Cheezecake. It was really delicious, thick and rich but well balanced with the addition of yoghurt, honey, bitter chocolate and praline served with it. This is a vegan option FYI! BTW - Juanita's sells delicious sauces and spices to take away ... we just had to grab one. We'll definitely head back.

The chicken mole was the best I've had in Oz, as were the corn tortillas - the latter had real flavor and must have been prepared by someone who has eaten real ones for many years in Mexico. I was then asked if i would like to switch to veggies. I said no worries to make things easier for them. After a further 10 minutes! I am told it will take a while can you move to the waiting bay. So I've spent $10 on food I didn't even want and waited 25 minutes. So i asked for a refund instead. The drive thru attendee then left, returned 2 minutes later to tell me i need to drive around in the rudest way. So I did, I was refunded cash when I paid using card. AND THEN I had to sit behind the car in front of me for another 5 minutes while there were empty waiting bays. You'd think after making me wait 30 minutes for nothing she would ask the driver ahead to move into a waiting bay so i can leave? Apparently not. I had to get out and ask her POLITELY to ask the driver to go into the bay so I can leave. She gets frustrated but agrees. I get back in my car just to hear her bad mouthing me for coming to the window to the driver out loud. Absolutely disgusting service. I was very patient and understanding and very politely. I agreed to the veggies to make things easier and I was treated so poorly. I genuinely have never experienced customer service this bad. TL;DR - Disgusting customer service - long wait times - they might make you wait 15 minutes to tell you they ran out of chicken.
