What the fuck is this. You guys are pathetic.

Waited way longer than expected and got the saddest looking "taco" we've ever seen. Whichever 5 year old you have making tacos at 1 am on a Saturday, send em home. They can't do shit anymore.

Dining area looks like any other Taco Bell in the area

I had a fun time at the Taco Bell. The food was made and presented well, the restaurant reasonably clean. It would be safe to say that they focus on the Taco here, rather than the Bell. The only thing that would make this place more fun would be if they called it Taco Cat. Then everyone who loved tacos and cats and palindromes would be ecstatic. But that's not gonna happen. I tried.

Crispy taco, gone in two bites!

So when I saw their food truck while taking in the Super Bowl hoopla on the Nicollet Mall last Saturday I swung by. The Prime Rib Dip I ended up ordering was a messy but very tasty and filling sandwich. Served with seasoned fries, it hit the spot. For $15.99, it's certainly on the high side for a sandwich. But it was top notch. The odd thing was they offered no beverages. On a cold, blustery day I would have loved a hot cuppa coffee with my lunch.

At first, I was a bit reluctant to order from a food truck that has pretty much every type of typical street food, but the aromas that bellowed out of their kitchen pulled me in like a tractor beam. I was also sort of tipsy. I'm also chubby, And when it comes to food, I thirst for good eats like Pepe Le Pew when he looks for that female skunk. I ordered a pair of cod tacos and mini burgers with small fries. One order would be for my intern. I think I'm sort of nice. *Mini Burgers: PERFECTLY SALTED and packed full of juicy flavors. Ugh, I was totally caught off guard as to how awesome they were. The fries were also nicely flavored and well fried. (I think total it was something like $7? $9?) I didn't have the tacos, but they were beautifully presented, and I almost shed a tear as I handed them to my intern. Damn it, I wish I ordered a pair just for myself. The people serving were also super friendly. No complaints. My food came out fast, too. If I'm ever at an event or in Downtown Minneapolis, I'll be sure to leap at another opportunity to eat at Jake's Street Grille. The only suggestion I have is that I thought the portions were a bit too small, considering the prices. Won't stop me from getting more food from there, though!

They have a chips and salsa bar so you can try out a bunch of different sauces/salsas. Enjoyed the chance to try out the different sauces, they were great! We finished with the churro bites. Overall: Great place for your taco fix. The complimentary chips and salsa bar are the perfect cherry on top.

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a diverse selection of dairy products, sodas, and snacks that you don't typically find all in one place. That variety directly stood out to me. Unlike many markets that focus on just one country, Loma Bonita offers a wide range of products from across Latin America, including El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, and more. One area for improvement is pricing clarity. In some sections, particularly dairy, labels can be difficult to match to specific items. That said, the staff at the checkout counter is willing to assist with price checks. As you move through the store, the selection just keeps getting better: fresh cuts of meat, frozen goods from around the world, and ready-to-eat hot meals. There's even a paletero (ice cream stand) tucked near the back by the produce section. The produce department stands out for its range, availability and affordability. It's great to find items like culantro, yellow (ripe) and green plantains, papaya, guava, mango, nance, yuca, and malanga, along with standard produce. Having all this fresh and reasonably priced is a big plus. What is the reward of visiting Loma Bonita? Their restaurant food! I almost always leave with a "Burrito de Asada" or "Huarache de Asada". Everything is made fresh to order, though they also offer convenient grab-and-go options like whole chicken and Mexican rice. On weekends, the menu expands with items like menudo and tacos dorados, making it more enticing to visit. There are multiple Loma Bonita locations in the Twin Cities, and while this one may be smaller, it's still packed with great finds. Pro tip: For homemade tacos, get their fresh, handmade corn tortillas. They're a game changer!

I've eaten here once before for a special event year prior and the food options were better in my opinion. The small plates got even smaller and more expensive. Not sure if the quality was better on things either. I was with 3 others and we all shared plates. chicken karaage was alright. I liked the crispiness was the sauce was nothing extravagant. Truffle Edamame - best thing I had! The only thing craveworthy that I had. Shrimp taco - smelled fishy but tasted better. I was able to split it into 2 since the shells are so small and the filling worked well in the 2 provided. Crispy rice with spicy tuna - this was fun to do but not as good as we were hoping. It was missing something. Shishito peppers- these were large and many had the seeds. Spicier due to this. Wagyu sushi tacos $24 for the tiny things and it looked like ground wagyu... felt like a cash grab. I didn't eat them but my crew ate 2 and didn't want to eat the last one. Chicken fried rice - good size and really gingery. Not my favorite but it was edible. Better value than other items. The sushi felt like Crave and they were teeny tiny. I didn't enjoy the fishiness so I was one and done. (I normally love seafood) Dessert- we split 2.. the churros and the tres leches. The churros needed some sweetness in the mixture as they were bland. I was hoping for a really good churro and these were just ok. The tres leches wasn't traditional and they should change the name to avoid confusion. They have a better happy hour if you sit at the bar. Our server was able to order us some fries. Despite not being in the bar area. Overall, I wouldn't drive out of my way to eat here. The drinks and happy hour, maybe. The cocktail menu was very nice and I tried a few of my friends drinks.
