Carnitas, barbacoa, ground beef, & chicken. From the. Reviews I thought I couldn't go wrong. But that wasn't the case. Or maybe I'm just to Texan to think OK knows how Mexican food should taste. But one thing is for sure. If Seasoning is off then it doesn't matter what you make. And today the carnitas and ground beef had way to much salt. I had to throw away. The chicken was dry. The barbacoa tasted like regular shredded Carne, not the fatty delicious of cheek and tongue. 3 stars for the service and the salsa.. salsa had flavor but not spicy..

The chipotle sauce was like a bbq sauce...very tasty. Carnitas had good flavor but could use a sauce, which they have options. The fried chicken tender on the southern taco lacked flavor. If you're a fan of fish tacos from Rubio's in California, these are meat identical flavor. The red snapper was fresh and flaky. And there's many more taco options. Everything started out ok - our waitress was sweet and attentive when we first sat down. However, once we ordered, we waited and waited for the food. After 45 minutes, we explained that we either needed our food or we'd like the bill for our chips so we could go to another place to eat. After that, the food appeared pretty quickly. Unfortunately, the food was truly bad - no salt, and very, very bland. I especially have to mention the beef...we ordered a carne asada taco and a fajita taco (the fajita taco description mentioned having "ribeye") and the meat in both was awful. It could be squeezed into mush between my fingers. Again, the staff was friendly enough, and I think they tried their best to make up for the long wait, which we appreciate, but to wait that long and the food be SO subpar just really made for a bad meal. I would try and find another place to eat when you visit Hot Springs.

The restaurant itself is what I would consider "Hole-in-the-wall," consisting of four small tables and a few outside patio tables. While the restaurant itself isn't the best, the food is seriously addicting!!! I've tried most everything on the menu. My favorites are the tamales, nachos and cheese with beans, and the baby burrito (which is only slightly smaller than what a person would consider a regular size burrito. Their regular sized burrito is closer to the size of Chipotle's.) Their food is not healthy by any stretch of the imagination. Lots and lots and lots of cheese (perhaps part of the reason I love it so much, being a Midwestern girl that loves her cheese!) This is almost always my diet "cheat day" place of choice when I'm in Arkansas. Their home made salsa is honestly the best I've ever had. Do yourself a favor and buy a bottle to take home with you!
