Went yesterday Thursday 9.19.24 at 7pm. Lobby doors closed so waiting in drive thru behind 4 other cars. Took about 15 min before even getting to move. when almost to the speaker the man from the car got out and came and told us that he just tried to order and was told they are short staffed and can not take any more orders at this time, that they were closing. Its only 720pm at this. So the truck in front of me and i backed up to let the guy out. The truck in front went to the speaker to order. Denied. you could hear from the speaker that they were closing. at this time there were 7 other cars behind us. we all had to back up to get out. this has not been the 1st time. it seems every week they do this. short staffed or not. maybe get better management in there to hire more people. This i know because my 17 yr old son went in to inquire about his application only to be told they were not hiring but his app would stay on file. This was the ending of August. So if they are short staffed why are they not hiring people? Why is the manager not there helping or training these kids. seems to me the ones working cant handle the orders and just stop because its too much. Went in 12/19/2019 at 6pm pst and tried to order enchilredo (poor spelling) and refused to make it. They are no longer on their menus, even though they have been making them for the past year off the menu. Taco Bell might have removed off the menu, but this location and others still make what the customers want and pay extra for. It's a meat enchilada with sauce and cheese. Last time a this location paid over $3.00 for a Barito with sauce. This is the only location in Dayton and if they continue to go without what customers want, then they can keep their location. We haven't eaten here in over a year. The service is spotty, the quality is hit n miss and the accuracy weak at best. But last night we chose to give them another chance (our first choice was closed). My husband went to get us "food". I wrote out my order very specifically. He read my order to the kid behind the counter and even showed it to him. Then he placed his order. I'll be hanged if this kid didn't put both orders into the system totally wrong mixed them up. My husband didn't check before bringing it home. I pulled the stuff out of the bag and soon realized the orders were totally mixed up and wrong. We ordered Power bowls. I don't order the chicken because it's mealy and tastes like tuna. I asked for steak NO beans NO rice. He ordered chicken with everything. I got steak with rice he got chicken with nothing. His order was made to my specs and mine was just wrong by all means. We won't be going back...ever. I have let corporate know. So they made his with steak minus half the other ingredients and mine with the chicken-gross! There was nothing I could do to save this meal. I had already mixed everything together when I realized my steak had rice, I couldn't just transfer the rice to his chicken at that point. The rice had been hidden under the lettuce and I didn't see it until after I shook it. It would be one thing if it was a one time thing but this sort of things happens every time at every location we've ever visited. This has been over about three or four months - I don't order very often from this store. The first time, it was cheese & chips, then the cinnamon twists, and now this last weekend, a Mexican pizza. Terrible service. I worked fast food in high school, I get it. It sucks sometimes. With that being said, that isn't an excuse to act like a moron and treat customers like trash. We ordered 2 crunchy tacos- simple. Paid for them and received only 1 taco. Double checked the receipt and went back through the drive thru and Gabriella opened the window all dramatic and asked,"what wrong?!" her coworker came up to the presenting window and told her something about how she's working and she proceeds to lean over the drive thru window and cough all dramatic into the headset before her coworker pushed her aside and tossed the bag over to us. We were given our drinks by her and our food by an older gentleman and said we were good to go, at that point, cascade, screamed "WE'RE NOT DONE YET" at the older gentleman. I was completely shocked that she screamed at him like that and at all. That was one of the most unprofessional acts I've ever seen, but it's Taco Bell so I'm not that surprised. This place is a hit or miss however, it's better than Jack in the Box. I sometimes feel like my veggies or sour cream or cheese are old tasting. In a nutshell, the employees displayed very unprofessional behavior, ignoring my daughter and me while we stood at the counter to the point that I asked if they were closed. As we waited for our food, many of the employees stood around chatting with each other and non-employee friends, and then went outside to what appeared to be an employee's vehicle parked right in front of the door. I was already turned off, but then when we got home with our food (after driving home from Las Vegas, just wanting to grab a quick bite for dinner) I realized that although I had ordered my food with no dairy due to allergies, and that's what was repeated back, it was all covered in cheese! If the employees at the Dayton Taco Bell were more focused on doing their job and less focused on socializing, I wouldn't have had to go hungry.
