We were staying in an RV at a hotel next to Taco Bell in Cloverdale. I asked the front desk about hours and they said Taco Bell closed at 2, so I knew we had plenty of time. I placed my order online and went to pick it up. The dining room was closed, so I waited until no one was in the drive up and inquired about my order. I was told I could not have my food because I wasn't in a car (My RV would not fit thru the drive up.) I asked if they could take it to the door- but they refused. About that time, a family pulled up and offered to get my food for me, but they still refused to fulfill my order. There was nowhere else around that was open- so I had no opportunity to get food and my blood sugar was crashing. Not to mention, I had already spent $35 on my pending online order! I noticed they shut their lights off around 1:40, so I walked back over to see if I could get it since no one else was in line, but again, they refused to offer me anything. I understand that it's dangerous to have people walking thru the drive up, but there were other options- like bringing it out to me or passing it through when no one was there. I was in tears as I left and completely frustrated by the lack of human compassion. I reported this to Taco Bell and was sent back a canned "thanks for writing" email with nothing more.

Best Taco Bell taco salad ever!

I stopped here during a roadtrip headed west on I-70. It was late so I knew most things would be closed except for TACO BELL! When I got to the order spot in the drive -thru I asked what they had that was closest to a taco salad. At first the worker said, "Nothing." We talked it out. Then she said that they could essentially take their Nachos Bell Grande and make it into a salad--that they'd make it work. I also got a Crunchwrap Supreme. When I rolled around to the pay window, there were 3 workers there who were so excited to have created something "newish" and to have made a customer really happy. When I got to my hotel to dig in, it was delish! Great job to Tyler and his crew!

    It's in 100 pieces

I'll start with the fact I had to ask for part of my food that wasn't in the bag. Then, I normally order a Mexican Pizza with no meat or beans. That doesn't mean it should be cooked any differently. Mine was missing sauce, it was in 100 pieces and it wasn't warmed (as shown by the unmelted cheese. Essentially I paid $4.19 for a box of chips with shredded cheese. I'll stay away from this location in the future.

This restaurant really needs an independent cooling system for the kitchen so the front doesn't have to be kept at 65 degrees! TOO COLD!

I got the quesa birria tacos, which is shredded beef and melted cheese in a double corn tortilla. They come three to an order, with a cup of red consomme to dip them into, and a couple of lime wedges to squeeze over everything. They do not come with any sides, so I ordered the refried pinto beans and carrot rice, because I really wanted some rice and beans. Beans and rice are my litmus test of any Mexican restaurant, and I'm happy to say that the rice and beans at Tlahcos passed the test with flying colors, and they are sublime. I don't practice Santeria, but perhaps the people at Tlahcos do, because their food is bewitching. The carne asada was also ordered, and it came with grilled nopales (cactus), cebollita canbray (little onions), grilled panela cheese, plus guacamole, salsa, rice and black beans. It was a 98%, and what would have raised it to a 100% was if it came with tortillas. But really, it was a great dish! If you're a person who is used to eating carne asada on a regular basis, you will be satisfied with this one. Chips and salsa are complimentary, which shows that Tlahcos knows its Plainfield-area visitors. My children, who eat like birds, filled themselves up on chips and salsa and declined a full meal, but Tlahcos does have a kids menu. On the kids menu, you'll find arroz con pollo, mini cheese quesadillas, a taco, mac & cheese, chicken nuggets and a mini pizza. Kid meals come with your choice of side, which are fries, rice & beans or a cup of fruit. They have a full cocktail list, as well as beer, wine and hot beverages (coffee and tea). I got a Paloma, which was a little light on the booze, but tasty nevertheless. The rim of the glass was beautifully decorated with Tajin, which added a nice, spicy kick. It was one of those drinks that makes you want to lick the glass.

The drinks are great. I have had the Birria tacos, the guacamole, the refried beans, and black beans, as well as multiple food options. Seriously, I have taken clients here as well as family. My most recent experience was still great, but there are two items I would never order off the menu. Let's look at the good and bad of these items: Baja Fish Tacos- I was looking for the cabbage-filled delicacies that are light but flavorful. What I received appeared to be small fish sticks stuck into a tortilla. The cabbage and sauce were tasty, but they could not mask the main cause of the tacos' failure: the fish. Do not order these. Ceviche Yucatan- looking for flavor with the light ceviche? That is not what this is. This is a large portion of ceviche dressed in a sweet sauce that completely overpowers it. Not even sure that you can call it a ceviche at this point. But the portion was good, and the ceviche ingredients looked fresh. Otherwise, we had the house guac, which was so so good, the birria tacos, which were amazing with the sauce as usual, the fundido, which was flavorful cheese and chorizo, as well as the Zapopan, which was a wonderful fusion of mango and spice (who knew bacon in this would be great). Housemade Horchata is great, not too sweet and flavorful as well as the Rita margarita! GREAT. Overall, a great night, some great food, and I will be back, but I will just not order the two items discussed above! PROS: Great flavors and food Good seating Good service Parking garage or street parking, easy CONS: Smaller actual bar top area

I was really craving Mexican food, and I decided to try a new spot. The food sounded good, and I liked the description of the nachos, so I ordered them and decided to add on a side of Mexican street corn. It was ok. First off, the corn was very overcooked. Small kernels. Very juicy, but not in a good wat. I took about 2 spoonfuls and pretty much tossed the rest. The nachos were not very good. I know this was a delivery and I have to make concessions for some saturation making the chips not as crunchy, but even the chips they gave me on the side were very thin and oily and would never hold up in a nacho setting. The meat (carnitas) was very dry and stringy. The guacamole lacked seasoning as did the rice and beans. And, the salsa had a pulled-from-the-refrigerator flavor. I maybe ate a third of the nachos and then tossed those out as well. I did not eat any of the chips and salsa after the initial taste. I was really bummed as I had hoped for a good meal, but I won't be trying this restaurant again and will try others next time I am in town.
