Finding authentic Mexican fare in Spain is not easy to do, but I have to say that this restaurant is thriving because there is a definite need for more restaurants like this. The menu is huge, with a section just for vegetarian dishes, and the guacamole is superb. Really, really, really good. Unlike American vegetarian, the food is not swamped with cheese, but the real flavors of the food shine through. The wait staff was very attentive, and handles an international crowd well. They are also willing to put together some other dishes (like a veggie-stuffed chimichanga) when asked. Highly recommend if you like vegetarian food like I do! No, it's not necessarily spicy (although that would have been welcome!) but it is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have tried here in Spain.

Wild colours, brooms, cleaning products' bottles and funny quotes on the walls. The bill was brought on a mousetrap. Drinks and beers were served in jars instead if glasses. The food was fine to my taste but a friend who claims he's an expert in Mexican food said it's nothing special. They have a display at entrance outside with photos of their "Instagram famous" visitors. If you have a lot of followers on Instagram, they will love it :) Visit if you are in Alicante. Everywhere I go I always look for Mexican food. It has really started to get a good foothold in Europe but I am more often than not disappointed. That was not the case here. I ordered a ceviche starter and then Dorado taquitos. The moment I took a bite out of the handmade tortilla chips and the lime marinated tuna it took me right back to Baja. Poco Loco ("A Little Crazy") is a Mexican restaurant in Orihuela Costa. Very popular among locals,…read moremostly English speaking. Busy most of the time, it's better to call before the visit and make a reservation. Menu if the day (three courses) - €10, see pics. Ordered for two: nachos, house salad, beef burrito with Mexican rice, chicken enchiladas with fries. Bottle of house red wine - €9.95 (Monastell variety, DO Jumilia). All dishes were quite spicy, I love that but beware if you don't. Awesome desserts (profiteroles and cherry pie). Colourful interior and exterior design (painted furniture and walls, and especially the statue on the balcony) make this place fun to take pictures. Very friendly stuff. Probably the only restaurant in Spain where they say "sorry for delay" when the bill is brought a couple of minutes later than you expected or when they don't notice you immediately after you have arrived :) Located on the N-332 road, Poco Loco is easy to find. A lot of parking space was available near the restaurant (October) and you'll probably park nearby without problems even in summer. Will be back!
