The tacos are every bit as good as people say and the environment is clean and relaxed, they usually have some good music playing too. Authentic, flavorful, consistent, and made with care. But the birria is the real star for me. Hands down, it is the best birria I've had anywhere in Metro Detroit. Rich, tender, packed with flavor, and exactly the kind of thing you think about again later like it owes you money. The owner is also genuinely one of the sweetest people. He remembered my order after only a few visits, and that kind of personal touch makes the place feel even more special. I usually stick with my Mexican Coke, but I love that they have their liquor license now, because a margarita or Corona with the food is a very solid upgrade. I've brought a bunch of people here and sent a whole handful of others, and everyone has said the same thing. It is some of the best Mexican food they've ever had. One of my friends even said it was better than what he had in California and Mexico, which is a bold statement, but Que Pasa can handle bold statements. Que Pasa is not just good for the area, it is the standard I compare everyone else to. Which is probably unfair to everyone else, but here we are.

They don't have soft drinks or water cups so you'd need to get a drink from their cooler. When we finally got our bill, we found out they were about $18 EACH. Had the price been disclosed on the menu, we absolutely would not have ordered them. Two margaritas added roughly $36 to our dinner bill, and our total ended up around $85 for two people eating tacos/Tex-Mex. As for the food, my taco salad was huge and very good, so I have no complaint there. My friend's taco combo, however, was a very small portion--one little taco with rice and beans--and he ended up ordering another $6 taco because he was still hungry. We also waited quite a while to get our bill while there seemed to be an issue with a takeout order. My biggest complaint is the drink pricing. I don't mind a restaurant charging whatever price it chooses, but customers should be able to see the price BEFORE ordering. Finding out only when the bill arrives that two margaritas cost around $36 feels very misleading. Good taco salad, but the undisclosed drink prices left a terrible impression.
