I think this is my favorite business anywhere. I got hooked on ice fishing after a guided trip through Chris Weber, and I am learning to go unguided. Wow this is a busy little corner! But for good reason! The two gentlemen working each counter were just a friendly as could be. Lots of selection packed into this place. Bonus it has a BBQ and fruit stand out front. Super great prices, friendly old men, excellent produce! I have been looking for locally made jewelry since arriving and haven't had luck until I was waiting around for my boys to gun shop. Found some AWESOME locally made ammo jewelry. Bonus it is made by a Marine Veteran (as retired Navy we will forgive this ) I bought a necklace but think I'm going back for earrings bc I can't stop thinking about them! Limited street parking but easily walkable from town or inn. Cash and card accepted. They have square out front at the produce stand. read more

My friends and I spent over an hour looking for a life jacket, or any kind of flotation device for that matter. You'd think in a touristy down like Cascade, right by a huge reservoir, every store would be well stocked on life jackets. So you can imagine how happy and relieved I was when I finally stumbled into Tackle Tom's and they had stacks of floatation pads and life jackets. Thanks for being reliable, guys! read more

This is the go-to place. These guys are so incredibly helpful. Pointed us in the right direction and we caught lots of fish. The lady even gave us a recipe for breading the trout. Hot tip: Buy the Dot's Pretzels for snacking and the crumble for breading the fish. read more

As we drove from Boise to McCall for a fly-fishing vacation, we realized we didn't have our fishing licenses yet. Rookie mistake on our part. But no biggie, Tackle Tom's is conveniently located about 30 minutes outside McCall and they quickly hooked us up with our official documents. Super friendly to tourists and very willing to answer questions and give a few pro tips. Lots of gear and bait for sale. There's even a sweet old dog that greets you when you arrive.
