Brought my gravel bike in for converting to tubeless[wheels were "tubeless ready"], paid almost $100, and by the time I got home the tires had gone flat. Tried to inflate them but no joy. Took the bike to another shop on the main drag that started out selling recycled sporting goods; mechanics said almost no sealant had been used, so no wonder they leaked. They fixed everything for a fraction of what Gravity charged. All the best to both shops; hope Gravity was just having a bad day. read more

Everyone at Gravity Sports was so helpful and friendly . We went to look at some e bikes to rent and Taylor was so helpful, he took his time with us and didn't make us feel rushed. We went back the next day and realized you can rent them for 24 hours. We had a great time. I would recommend Gravity Sports over any of the other bike shops in town, Gravity Sports is the BEST!!! Rented an e-bike from Gravity Sports for my wife to keep up with me on our mountain bike! Asked for a women's bike but got a unisex bike with a higher bar than she preferred. They had a limited amount of the women's bike, even though I got there right when they opened (They did not do reservations). However, bike worked excellent and the pedal assist provided the assistance as needed with several different modes-economy, tour, turbo and I think one other. She mainly used the economy mode to save battery life but would go to higher assist mode on hills. Battery life was great. No issues with riding about 30 miles off/on for several hours. All of the personnel in the store were great and helpful. read more

My husband and I recently rented 2 mountain bikes for 4 days. The Trek bicycles were brand new and in perfect condition. They also gave us a bike lock to borrow, though we never had to use it. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. MUCH better prices and nicer to deal with than Hometown Sports - I would never go back there. read more

This is a nice and small, but great place to do some shopping. I have been in here to scout the products, and shop for swimsuits. I came in with some friends that were renting some gear also. Some of the stuff might seem expensive, I remember paying more for my suit, but it was one of the cooler pairs of trunks I'd ever bought. read more

Being new to McCall, I made a great find in Gravity Sports. They have provided me and my family with great friendly service. I recently purchased a mountain bike at a good year-end price, tuned up an old bike, and Aaron is putting together a nice touring bike for me. I must say, Aaron knows a lot about bikes. And for my needs, he has a lot of experience with touring and touring bikes. (He has toured around the world!) Now that the snow is falling, we have been having fun trying out their new Fat Tire Bikes. Fun, fun, fun. Took my specialized hardrock mountain bike in for repair due to an unsuccessful full tune up that was done no more than 2 weeks ago from another bike repair shop. There was a loud grinding noise coming from the crank area and needed some serious help. Jeff jumped on the bike diagnosed the problem, within 30 mins of his time and work my bike was fixed! I rent 2 mountain bikes. They were in no way maintained, one had a brake pad worn down to the metal. Additionally, this is the first shop that I've rent from that doesn't provide a repair kit, they wanted me to buy one, which is ridiculous since I am renting the bike and don't need another kit and tool for my bike at home. Our family frequents Gravity Sports whenever we are in McCall. They provide excellent and personalized customer service. We have purchased numerous bikes, clothing and sporting gear from Gravity because we know they have high quality products and they stand behind their products. When I had an issue with a new fat bike last year, Michelle and her crew went out of their way to make sure the bike was running smoothly ASAP. Small storefront but they have a good selection of snowboarding and skateboarding stuff and some clothing. They are a bit pricey but this is to be expected in a small ski town. We did some quick browsing here but didn't make any purchases. The young guy working there was suprisingly nice and very friendly. If you are a skateboarder this is your zumiez in McCall. read more

My son and I attempted to make a purchase at Gravity Sports yesterday while visiting McCall. I talked to an employee about their sleds and selected one. Because the car was parked some distance away (we'd been walking around town), I asked if I could pay for the sled and have them hold it while we brought the car around. The employee said there was no need to pay before we picked it up. She put the sled behind the counter and said she would hold it until they closed at 5:30. My son and I both asked again if she'd like us to pay right then and she said no. When we returned to the store to pick up the sled it was no longer behind the counter. I asked the same employee if it was still available and she told us she had sold it to someone else. Her explanation was that the boss didn't allow items to be held for later payment. A) We offered THREE times to pay for the sled the first time we entered the store. B) Why would the employee have said they could hold the item until close at 5:30 (awfully specific) if that was not their standard policy? C) If it was not their practice to hold items, good business practice would be for the owner to have honored his employee's promise while instructing her in his preferred methods for future occasions rather than instructing her to sell it to someone else. A disappointing experience. I'll give one of the other sporting goods stores in town a try the next time I'm in McCall. I will definitely not go back to Gravity. read more

I like locally owned, independently owned shops. This is the mountain sports variation - with owners who have lived (and live) their merchandise. I've purchased numerous items here over the years. I have my mountain bikes fixed here. I rent here. Why? I ask a question about bike trails in the area, I get an answer. They fix my bikes - perfect. I had a defective back rack? They fixed it and gave me pointers on its use. And the owner Jeff is nice. read more

We rented two standup paddle boards in July 2013. Staff provided info on the boards and lifejacket rentals. The rental process went very smooth and we had great assistance loading the boards into our truck. The return was equally smooth. Great service with wonderful attitude. Gravity was one of the few places who allowed us to take the boards to other locations. We used them at North Beach and Upper Payette Lake. Great experience. read more

We have been there both summer and winter and have to say after dealing with Gravity Sports... it's the favorite spot. The rentals are in excellent condition, they understand normal wear and tear, their whole shop is kid friendly, even the dog loves and welcomes kids, doesn't bark and annoy people. The shop is run like a family business, very friendly. When they're really busy it may take a minute for them to respond, but they do respond. As far as the took kit, I guess losing too many tool kits was too much. Maybe you could ask if you could rent them. Maybe they rent them now, and return deposit later...we didn't need one. All the summer and winter equipment was in excellent condition and held up very well...I must admit we didn't abuse the equipment. We will go there every time and like getting to know the employees. Worth your visit...Perfect shop for your purchases and rental needs... Say hello to the dog...he loves attention...and look for him on the paddleboad on the lake with the owner of the shop...chewing his stick...until he gets bored and swims back to shore. Yes...we will be returning...from out of town..to our favorite vacation place and store...Gravity Sports! read more

I recently visited McCall and don't see any recent reviews for this shop so thought I would provide one. I am not an avid cycler. I am more of a beach cruiser kinda gal, but I wanted to get a bike for the evening to cruise around the lake and come back to town. Other shops were closed for the evening (super early, even though it was already June!) so Gravity Sports it was. The team here is friendly - albeit a bit under staffed. Perhaps they have more people on staff for the peak of the season. So, word to the wise, don't come here and expect a super quick in and out in a hurry. That being said, the wait wasn't too long and after signing the usual papers, checking out my bike pre-rental to ensure that it fit me properly and was in good working order, on my way I went. They provided a lock so I didn't have to worry about the bike while it was parked. The bike worked perfectly and it was a great way to see the entire lake area. Decent prices for a 24-hour rental. I recommend them if you're looking for any sporting goods while in town for a visit. read more
