Its 2015 and I am here to tell my experiences with the help of God, Doctor Mohammed Siddique and…read moreVictory Hospital ( Now Vista) in Waukegan Illinois This all began in January of 1999 I was in Cleveland Ohio on business and woke up in a hotel room in middle of the night I had a crunching chest pains and did nothing about it. I got through that thinking everything will be fine. By the time May of 1999, I was short of breath and my heart was racing and my legs were swollen. and I knew by then I needed to make an appointment. It progressively got worse. I decided to call Doctor Siddique who took over medical practice of Doctor Albert Behn who retired and was my Doctor for years. I drove my car to his office thinking I was not going to make it. I could barley make it from the car to his office without loosing my walking abilities. It was that bad. Doctor Siddique took one look at me and did not hesitate to have me lay on my back and immediately had an E K G test done. He quickly read it and said , you need to be taken by ambulance to the hospital right away. We have a serious problem here. After the arrival the hospital ran test after test and discovered my Lungs are 95 % blocked with blood clots. They rushed me into Critical Care and installed an I V with a heavy supply of heparin. Later than evening, it wasn't working. My condition had worsen and I could not rest. My heart was beating so fast it and enlarged the heart muscle. Doctor Siddique immediately ordered T P A, which is a clot buster given to Heart Attack patients. After injection the care nurse said, it is in God's hands now and sat with me the rest of the night. I knew then, I might not make it. The following morning a woke up and the nurse was by my side and said your awake and were going to an Echo cardiogram and see what the T P A has done. After tests, the results worked and I was on my way to recovery. When Doctor Siddique came in to see me, I grabbed his arm and thanked him and all the I. C. U staff for saving my life. I was so grateful that life was saved. Today I am on blood thinners everyday for the rest of my life. Since then I experienced two more blood clot attacks in 2000 and 2001 to the lungs and was hospitalized. It was decided to install a Vena Cava filter umbrella in my main artery. this would trap any blood clots that form in the legs and travel towards the heart so the blood thinner Coumadin can do its job by dissolving the Blood cot issue. My endless thank you goes to the immediate actions of Doctor Mohammed Siddique M.D.. Denny B.

I passed out at home after being sick for a couple weeks. Was taken to the Vista ER by ambulance,…read moreand the nurses couldn't even start an IV. Granted, I have difficult veins but they're ER nurses!! IVs are something they should be doing every day, ALL day... you would think they'd be pros. The doctor came in (I swear he was drunk) after about an hour and ordered a blood draw, breathing treatment, chest X-ray, and an MRI of my head, because I hit hard when I fell. Tests were done quickly but nurse could barely get blood - then I waited HOURS for results. Except for the breathing treatment and tests, I received no care, at all but was there for 7 hours!!!! I finally told the nurse to get my discharge papers because I was leaving. I can't believe I actually stayed that long! (Possibly drunk?) doctor comes in, says I have bronchitis and maybe pneumonia, and he's going to order antibiotics and cough medicine. That's it. They weren't busy, either. The nurses were standing around talking and only one other person was brought in while I was there. I would never go there again and, if I hadn't been taken in an ambulance, I wouldn't have gone there this time. It's sad because it was a great hospital when it was Victory and is still a nice facility.

They did what was needed to stabilize my parent for transfer and did it well. Staff was kind. But…read moreI feel this hospital is underfunded and on its last legs. Housekeeping was not so great (French fry in the floor of the er room?) Specialists are non existent. (The cafeteria was closed because it was the weekend? We were there for hours without a chance to get something to sustain us.) Place was remarkably empty for a hospital. I think everyone is avoiding it and I tried to but was forced to use it because of severity of my parents' condition. If you have to go, get transferred when you can.
