Bath salts and lotions fill the shelves with straw baskets in a way that you need to touch. I would love to design my house with everything in this place. Now prices are a bit higher then an average wear house stocked with but the character of each piece is filled with conversation and years of falling in love with your piece over and over. Purchased some fabric the other day and realized that it was not what was needed. I have purchased…read moretens of thousands of dollars from this store over the past number of years for a business. Many times, it is easier and more efficient to buy a bolt from the store rather than wait for the suppliers in Canada and the US. Went to Dartmouth to return the fabric today and was told to take it back to the Halifax location, Was told that there was no problem returning the fabric, since we are well known customers and usually buy large quantities of material. Was told that it had to be remeasured, which is understandable, since I may have taken an inch of two, which was not the case. Generally try to avoid the Halifax location, although it is located nearby our costuming business. I would rather spend money on tolls and gas to go to Dartmouth rather than deal with the Halifax location. The fabric was accepted, begrudgingly, although I felt that I was seen as something less than a valued customer. I was told that they do not accept returned fabric, since they have done so in the past and there have been bugs. What I am to infer from this comment? We have a large warehouse for the fabric that is clean, humidity controlled and certainly free of pests and bugs. Should I worry about bugs being in the fabric when I am buying from Fabricville? There is no information stating that there are no returns on fabric, aside from no returns on cut fabric. Please make this clear to your customers. In the future, I will shop elsewhere. I will make a point to avoid the Halifax store and can shop for sundries on line and fabric as well. I have never had a bad thing to say about the delivery drivers who come regularly to my door with packages. I learned growing up in a business family that when someone is happy, they may tell one person. If they are unhappy with the service they received they will tell ten people and so on, You have lost of customer, of which you seemingly don't care. This is unfortunate, since retail can hardly afford to disconnect with the paying public.

I saw one bolt of ordinary woven black 100% polyester fabric for a whopping $13 per metre - pass! There were a few amazing embroidered chiffons, although I don't think I'd pay upwards of $40 per metre even for that. There was a reasonably sized discount section, a huge quilting section full of 100% cotton prints, and a fairly large home decor section. The notions section is small, and so is the button selection. I left this store without buying anything. I don't thing I'd go back there unless I was desperate and had a lot of spare cash lying around.

Either full of knots or cut incorrectly, either way, my bed will not even sit on the frame. I have seen box springs so old that the fabric has worn out, but the frame was still good. This was just the opposite, fabric is new.. framing is total crap! Not only this, but they promised 2 pillows with purchase of ANY bed set, which they did NOT put on the delivery truck. The driver promised to bring them on his next delivery but they never came. Not only do they sell crap products, they do not honor their advertisements. If you see free offer and need delivery, don't hold your breath!

As for fashion, there are clothes for kids at Bib & Tucker, as well as a number of shops for men and women that are unique and not your typical mall selection. One of my favorite shops is Uncommon Gear a very eco friendly place to buy toys, games and gear from strollers to every other nurturing thing kids need. Several home decor and foodie focused shops like Cucina Moderna, Backyard & Veranda (that has lots of stuff for indoors as well). There's even a branch of Stokes (always has sales and fun kitchen gear). The far end of the mall has travel agency, shoe repair...and more, plus access to Canadian Tire. And lastly, if you're into local handicrafts, there's a market just for you on Sundays from 11-5.

The mall also has a variety of the standard cell phone carrier stands, a (too?) small Indigospirit bookstore, Mark's work wearhouse, Hallmark etc. The food court is small but the quality and health consciousness of the non-chain food vendors here makes it a very attractive to stop by for a meal... especially if you enjoy fresh ingredients and want a break from the monotony and excessive food processing offered by the standard fast food chains.

Hello, I did…read morecurbside pick up today. I understand the current climate of the pandemic, but the employees of Linen Chest at Bayers Lake in Halifax NS can still be decent human beings. A pandemic is no excuse. I watched an older couple walk-out with a bag of items. So I automatically assumed, as there was no signage outside, it wouldn't be a big deal for me to walk in and pick up my order. First of all, I walked in and was NOT greeted. Instead, before I could walk pass the front mat. I heard," You gotta...."I could barely hear her, very muffled due to the mask she was wearing, hardly any eye contact, she pointed as if I had to wait in the entrance. So that's what I did. I waited for a few minutes to be asked, can I help you?, which never happened. Instead, I was ignored. I then said," Excuse me; I have an online order to pick up." Then the whole tone changed. I felt as if now, my presence was known, and I was no longer being ignored. She asked my name, and what it was I ordered, NOW I can hear her clearly because I already spent money I'm guessing. They put my four pillows on the counters. The other representative took the pillows and started walking towards me. I ask politely, " Do I take the pillows from you? "... Her reply was "Just open your trunk, so you don't get too close to me" that's fine, I respect that. But it's all in the tone. She put the pillows in my trunk, and walked away, before entering the store. She said," next time, just call the store." How about there will never be a next time, especially at that location. And have a nice day too... I've done multiple orders online to pick up in-store, from the grocery store, to home hardware, to furniture stores, and at Bed Bath And Beyond. NOTHING compares to the level of horrible service I've received today. I wonder if the couple before me and gentleman after received the same underwhelming level of customer service. If so, that's unfortunate. I was so distraught, I called my husband to cope with the anxiety that the whole situation created during my visit. Those two employees should be ashamed of their selves. I had assumed by their name they were just sheets and towels, so I didn't bother stopping in until recently. But no, they are much, much more than just linens. First, you are offered a hot beverage when you enter. We were also offered ham panini bites. I had tea, and Mike had hot chocolate and panini. They use the products they sell (in this case coffee maker and panini maker), so it's rather like a demo as well. Cleo was super helpful and informative while serving us. The store is deceptively huge. It looks smaller outside than it really is. Also, they have everything. Dinnerware. Glasses. Home decor. Kitchen appliances. Bedding. Mattresses. Window coverings. Exclusive lines. More knick-knacks than you can shake a stick at. And almost everything was on sale the day of our visit. I swear we spent an hour wandering through each section. Eventually we bought some glasses and a lotion dispenser (hush, it's a cool dispenser). The prices were awesome. I can't wait to return. This is my new first stop for all things homey.
