Right away our server guided us to our seats and gave us the menus. The decor is as if you are eating outside in Mexico City, very urban and cool. Colorful al around, it kinda gives you energy when you are inside. The couple of servers came around checking on us often. We ordered some tacos then an order of onions, then tortas cemitas, some cheladas and next thing you know I ate much more than I usually do . It is dangerous because the food was so good and the service was fast so like I said, I ate more than I usually do. If you stop by Puebla, make this a stop. Of course you have to be a meat lover or at least be able to eat it. I do not eat much meat and I was worried I would get sick from it but I did not, so definitely would stop by again. The micheladas were also good, and they have plenty of hot sauces to choose from, different flavors and levels of spicy. Stayed here for some time since it was cool to look at the details of the decoration.

We weren't in the mood to eat a lot, and everywhere we looked like either the place was too crowded or too busy, and this wasn't an exception, but it would have something small to eat, which was "Tacos al Pastor." These tacos were delightful, and although this place had a Mexican bar and grill vibe, a bit more coastal for my liking, I enjoyed it here tremendously, and even was in the mood for a beer with my food. I only took a picture of the menu, but the tacos al pastor didn't look any different than at other places. We also ordered a queso fondu which was really good. At other tables nearby we noticed some people ordering "fried cheese" which looked pretty tasty, and would try it out next time.

I'm usually sceptical of recommendations in guide books as they never seem to be what the writers…read moresuggest they are. We arrived in Puebla just after lunch and were very hungry so decided to put our faith in our Moon guidebook and try this taqueria. Walking in right past the spit with the marinated meat roasting on it made me so hungry. I had two tacos arabe, one torta and a chorizo con queso. They were all pretty tasty. They were on par with the best tacos I had in Mexico City. I would have gone back but didn't have much time in Puebla and needed to try the other regional dishes. The staff just handed us a paper form to mark what we wanted and they promptly delivered it, which was great since my Spanish is still a work in progress.

That said, the al pastor tacos were excellent! The maiz (corn) tortilla tacos are smaller but I liked them better than the harina (flour) tacos! Food comes out super fast. Waiter didn't speak any English but he gave us a checklist to order food that was in English, plus everything is pretty self explanatory

CHULADA DE TROMPO!
Discovered this place thanks to Yelp reviews, very good reviews by the way, and all are correct…read more This place was great. Service was amazing attentive since we arrived. Cozy home cooking but with great flavors. Had the Chilaquiles Doña Gloria and were tasty but my wife had the green cholaquiles and they were a bit better. I think the mix of the sour cream in the Chilaquiles Doña Gloria was a bit strong but both were good. The breakfast includes your choice of fresh fruit and choice of coffee, we chose the Cafe de Olla and it was very good, not too sweet or strong just right, and the coffee has free refills. I highly recommend the chilaquiles for breakfast. We will be back for lunch after our trip to the Pyramid to try the mole a must at this place I have heard. We came back for lunch, well because the place is really that good. Many choices to eat around the area especially since the Fiestas are happening. The lunch was amazing. Wife had the mole envuelto, enchiladas, the mole is like no other a must try if you are going to eat here. I had the tacos de Cochinita, very good especially with the habanero and onion. We also picked up a local dish Chiles en Nogada, WOW, this is a special dish with a tremendous flavor, sweet and savory a must have at this place. If you are here in Cholula this is a must location to eat breakfast or lunch. You will not be disappointed.

Five for the service and atmosphere, 3.75 for the food…read more The room is beautiful and the murals make a lovely backdrop for the meal. Be aware that the prices are high for the locale. There is an English menu available online but not in the restaurant. Here's where I get confused. The service is excellent, full white tablecloth treatment, old-school European style. No detail is missed. Then we get to the food. It's really pretty good, all told. Here's where the attention to details goes sideways. The bread rolls felt as if they had been sitting since yesterday. The beans, although delicious, had sat around on the plate long enough to be room temperature and develop a crust. The totopos stuck in the beans were in the beans long enough to get soggy. The rice served alongside the moles was barely above room temperature and a bit dried out. All the food, in general, needed to arrive from the kitchen much warmer. Essentially, anything that could be made ahead of time was, and then left sitting out. It doesn't fit and I don't get it.
