These tacos were delightful, and although this place had a Mexican bar and grill vibe, a bit more coastal for my liking, I enjoyed it here tremendously, and even was in the mood for a beer with my food. I only took a picture of the menu, but the tacos al pastor didn't look any different than at other places. We also ordered a queso fondu which was really good. There is an English menu available online but not in the restaurant. Here's where I get confused. The service is excellent, full white tablecloth treatment, old-school European style. No detail is missed. Then we get to the food. It's really pretty good, all told. Here's where the attention to details goes sideways. The bread rolls felt as if they had been sitting since yesterday. The beans, although delicious, had sat around on the plate long enough to be room temperature and develop a crust. The totopos stuck in the beans were in the beans long enough to get soggy. The rice served alongside the moles was barely above room temperature and a bit dried out. All the food, in general, needed to arrive from the kitchen much warmer. They're a distant cousin of shawarma and you should get them on the house made pan arabe (a cousin of pita). The meat is thinly sliced and mixed with thin griddled onions. Catch the right bite with charred meat edges and slightly crunchy browned onions and you've reached taco nirvana. You can order meat by the weight which comes with pan arabe or tortillas, limes and salsa and DIY the tacos. If you're ordering more than three, it makes sense. There is zero atmosphere (who cares?) and the service is average but fast. Look, with food this good, what else do you need?
