Cozy home cooking but with great flavors. Had the Chilaquiles Doña Gloria and were tasty but my wife had the green cholaquiles and they were a bit better. I think the mix of the sour cream in the Chilaquiles Doña Gloria was a bit strong but both were good. The breakfast includes your choice of fresh fruit and choice of coffee, we chose the Cafe de Olla and it was very good, not too sweet or strong just right, and the coffee has free refills. I highly recommend the chilaquiles for breakfast. We will be back for lunch after our trip to the Pyramid to try the mole a must at this place I have heard. We came back for lunch, well because the place is really that good. Many choices to eat around the area especially since the Fiestas are happening. The lunch was amazing. Wife had the mole envuelto, enchiladas, the mole is like no other a must try if you are going to eat here. I had the tacos de Cochinita, very good especially with the habanero and onion. We also picked up a local dish Chiles en Nogada, WOW, this is a special dish with a tremendous flavor, sweet and savory a must have at this place. We probably ate here twice a week. Needless to say, we tried many things in the menu. It never disappointed. No matter how complex our order, they got it right every time. Tacos al pastor are the ones you have to try when in Mexico. La Gringa has some of the best. You can also get a Ginga, which is a round quesadilla with Al Pastor. My favorite, though, is the Alambre. Get the traditional one with ham, bacon, onions. You won't regret it. We tried Tortas, potatoes, quesadillas, tacos de bisteck, arrachera, and other dishes. Everything was super tasty and incredibly cheap. La gringa has delivery, and you can also order to go. By the way, we were here late at night a few times (10pm+) and felt safe. You order first at the register and then seat yourself They have seating downstairs and upstairs. I recommend dining upstairs because they have some windows along the wall and it's a nice view of the neighborhood. For drinks we had the agua de jamaica con guayba and a topo chico. I've never heard of mixing agua de jamaica con guayaba but it works well. It's not too sweet, and they somehow balance each other out. It is served in a chilled steel cup, so it's quite refreshing. The drinks came out within minutes of us being seated. For tacos, I would skip the carne asada; it wasn't bad but it's not the best I've had. The stars of the show were the ornico taco and the taco de trompo. Their ornico taco comes with chicharon, ornico salsa (very spicy), and pickled onions. The tacos de trompo had fresh pineapple in them and they were just wow. Please try them. They do have non-meat options like quesadillas and a taco de aguacate. You can order any of the tacos with tortilla de maiz o harina (corn or flour). We also had the half order of papas which are nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They serve everything with 5 different salsa options. I loved all of them except for the yogurt-based one. It looks white and creamy but it wasn't for me.
