Among the taco spots that seem popular among tourists, this is my favorite. I love their al pastor tacos and the potatoes that come with any order. The tacos with cheese are extra tasty but not sure it's worth the extra cost. Service is quick and they bring your food to you after ordering at the counter. Inside is usually busy from my experience, with casual ambiance, chairs, and tables. Overall definitely recommend if visiting Mexico City!

This place was recommended to us by both locals and tourists. A local Uber driver actually said it…read morewas his favorite taco place in Mexico City. I agree that it's good, the tacos here are really solid. They're super juicy, the tortillas are fresh and buttery, and they put these crispy onions or garlic on them which is like their signature thing and really elevates each taco. They only do three things here: al pastor, carne asada de res, and chicharron. I really like the way they slice the beef in the carne asada, I'd say that was my favorite thing here but honestly everything was good. We tried the chicharron as a costra (cheese inside the tortilla), and that made the taco a little too big and difficult to eat, still good though. They also do a stellar, cold hibiscus agua fresca. Anywhere else in the world I'd say this is an easy 5/5, but there are so many better taco options in Mexico City. In fact most street vendors and random little shops you walk into will typically give you a more authentic, rich, flavorful taco that isn't too loaded. The tacos here aren't bad by any means, they're just more a gourmet style and it's just a little touristy in there. It's not really necessary to come back here if there are infinite options for better, cheaper tacos steps away. I'm surprised locals recommended this place honestly.

The service and the waiters were very friendly and professional. The margarita was made to order and when i asked what tequila they use the bartender came out to speak to me and show the bottle of jose cuervo silver and told me how they mix it. They had live music which was nice and the ambiance waa relaxed unlike at Salon Corona where we attempted to have a quick lunch. This place was right near my hotel too. Highly recommend it, excellent tacos and drinks in a clean and relaxed ambiance. By the way this restaurant is ioen 24 hrs, amazing!

The location is fantastic. It's right in the heart of El Centro near many other shops, restaurants,…read moreand things to do. There is literally two other taco restaurants next door to this place so the competition is high. This whole area is very walkable and there are bus stops and a metro nearby. The streets here in Mexico City are crazy so I don't really recommend driving but if you do, there are a couple of parking structures nearby. Seeing that they were on the Michelin bib gourmand list was enough to get me hyped through the roof. The line out the door to be seated at 9:30PM should have told me how good these tacos would be. Every hotel staff member recommended this restaurant so you already know we had to try it out. The first time we tried to find this place, we ended up getting lost and going to a different restaurant. That place was so mid compared to the flavor here. Although, the nearby "TACOS DE CABEZA DE RES" sidewalk shop might beat this out on the flavor. First of all, the tacos are essentially $1.50USD each which is really good compared to the prices we pay here in the United States. The quantity of meat they pack the tacos with is unheard of here in the states. Expect to walk out of here for about $10USD a person. The tacos are heavy and a really good value for the price. Value for the price is a 11/10. The tortillas are almost sautéed in the meat sauce on the grill that they cook the meat with. They have a nice crispiness to them and you get a hint of the delicious meat juices with every bite. The meat is absolutely fantastic. The pineapple on the al pastor tacos really complemented the saltiness of the meat. The onions and cilantro went well with the flavor of the suadero. The tacos were spectacular. Lick the plate after you finish good. The salsas were spicy but had a nice smokey flavor to them. Flavor overall was a 10/10. Honestly, there is 0 to complain about here. Maybe a couple of the tacos could have been slightly warmer but they were EXTREMELY busy here so I'm guessing the tacos were waiting to be sent out to our table for a minute. Not that the temperature detracted from my eating experience at all. We had to call the server over a couple of times to order more food and get some drinks but they were so busy they barely came. Service was a 7/10 for me. Bottom line/TLDR: BELIEVE THE TACO HYPE

They hustle and you get your meal fast, no matter how packed it is and it's been packed every time I've visited. It can be a little intimidating your first time. Foquitos are little light bulbs in Spanish. I don't know why this is the restaurant's name BUT I've always come here at night and it's a bright spot on a busy road. There is NEVER parking out front so you will park in the middle of the highway. It seems shady, don't worry, it's ok, they have enough attendants to help you park and then run like a crazy person across the highway when there's a break in traffic. Again, don't worry, you'll be ok & there's a reason people are willing to run across a highway to eat here. There may be armed police out front with their faces covered. Again, don't worry, this is a popular place and they are there for your safety. There may be body guards out front. This is because Los Foquitos is so popular you will see EVERYBODY here. The rich (with body guards in tow), the poor, the young, the old, even clowns rub shoulders here. There were clowns dining here from a circus that had stopped in town my latest visit. There is ALWAYS awesome people watching! Ok, now the food. It's just so good you have to try it. Tacos al pastor, chorizo, carne asada, chuleta, etc etc, they have it. This time I had the tacos al pastor and a chorizo volcán. This last is a crunchy fried tortilla topped with cheese then topped with a mountain of overflowing meat. Finally the best flan Neopolitano. I don't like flan. I'm not a flan person. This is the flan that will convert flan haters. I loved it. Everything...here...is...delicious.
