Table Rock Art Guild & Gallery was honestly a solid stop. The place had character, the artists clearly care about their work, and there were some genuinely interesting pieces throughout the gallery. A lot of the collection leaned abstract ... not exactly the Beast's personal favorite style ... but art's subjective, and you could tell some people would absolutely love it. Even when a piece wasn't necessarily "my thing," there was still creativity and effort behind it that deserved respect. That's what makes galleries like this worthwhile. Local talent, different perspectives, and a place that actually supports artists instead of mass-produced wall filler from a furniture store. All the stores have basements but most were never used except on back in the late 70's and early 80's as an arcade. Today over 1/2 are used and they are used by different shops than the ones that are street level. The Art Gallery is in one of these basements. There is a sign that says ART and an arrow that points down. The ladies who ran the shop were extremely friendly and knew all about the art work and the artist. The art work was wonderful and there were several pieces I would have loved to buy if I had had the money. I think this will be a new favorite place of mine.
