Seafood Stew

I, shamelessly, dined 3 times during my week in Nazaré. This well oiled machine cranks out tasty and fresh Portuguese staples and some other incredible dishes. They have balance, finesse, and consistency ;) Highly highly recommend to anyone visiting for lunch or dinner. Erique is the most gracious and generous part of their hospitality team. He (and his colleagues) is invested in making your experience both delicious and stress free, he makes great wine and after dinner drink suggestions. This place is a MUST.

I'm glad we listened to other Yelpers and tried this restaurant for a delicious lunch. My husband enjoyed picking his fish and having it grilled, with potatoes and salad. I loved my Clams Bulhao Pato and my friends loved their seafood rice (although you need to deal with shells). Cold beers were appreciated. Service could have been more attentive. Otherwise it was an excellent lunch (approximately 120€ for 5 people plus tip).

Empty dining room at 7pm

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely dinner here in early October on a warm Friday evening. We had made reservations earlier in the day but that was probably not needed if you arrive closer to their opening time of 1900. Their menu is available in half a dozen languages and posted in the window if you want to get a head start on things. We arrived right at seven and were placed in the front dining room. The restaurant is beautiful on the inside and depicts life in Portugal. There is a large ice bin displaying the fresh catch of the day that you can pick from as well as a tank of creatures still living. My wife ordered the grilled cod while I got a skewer of pork, shrimp and pineapple. We ordered a couple of beers of an iPad they provided to start things off. It didn't take too long for our entrees to arrive. My wife was only mildly impressed with her cod and thought there were too many bones to pick out of it. It was served in a pot with potatoes and onions. My dish on the other hand was awesome. The flavors all played off of one another. The shrimp were wrapped in some form of bacon or ham that was yummy. The pork was a little tough but still enjoyable. Service was friendly and good throughout the meal. Getting by here with only English is no issue.

Mussels

Busy, if you are a group make a reservation. Had their green wine- refreshing and crisp perfect with the savory and flavorful mussels I had. The mussels had more of a tomato and garlic based stew consistency which I had no complaints about- the best I've had in awhile. The octopus rice could have had more octopus in it but otherwise the octopus wasn't chewy and had the right bite to it. Would be open to trying out their other dishes.
