    Fresh Sardines

Stopped here for lunch on our way from Lisbon to Coimbra. All the 5 star reviews pointed us to this great restaurant. We got to Nazare at 2:30 and they close at 3:15 so we knew we were in for a treat. This was THE best meal we had in Portugal. When they say fresh fish, they mean it. Portuguese Clams were delicious. My husband made me try the Sardines ... these are not the ones your grandmother tried to make you eat from a can. They were fresh and they did not disappoint. The owner came by the table and gave some of his homemade wine and madus feel like family. Wish I could give them 6 stars!!!

    No fuss wine selection.

An Outstanding Dinning Experience! The freshest seafood expertly prepared. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean, simple, but charming setting in Nazaré. A favorite of locals (as we understood) and visitors alike. Get there early for seating or plan to wait a bit in line. We selected the red snapper for two (from the fresh fish tray) and steamed clams (with fresh coriander) as appetizer, along with olives and a bottle of wine. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Everything was excellent!!! Reasonably priced.

This is an owner operated restaurant and you will not be disappointed. When checking out the Yelp review, I was looking at the clams but once we were seated they brought us pictures of the three fresh fish of the day. How can I pass up fresh fish? We had the red snapper and oh my gosh it was so delicious! I didn't even eat the potatoes or salad because all I could do was eat that snapper. My husband had a glass of wine and he enjoyed that thoroughly. The owner and his family who still work are some of the kindest people ever and they have pictures of everybody on the walls. He gave us a little bit of history about his great-grandfather who was the first to open the place as a wine shop and it became a restaurant over time. If you visit Navarre this is a must-stop!

This is exactly what we were looking for. Fresh seafood and a warm atmosphere. They cooked a delicious chicken dish for my husband who is not a fish lover. The owner and his staff are incredibly welcoming. We highly recommend Rosa dos Ventos when you are in Nazare!

Very fresh sea bass and res snapper.

We had one of our favorite meals at this restaurant! Delicious. Service was great and our server recommended some great wines.

What an incredible authentic seafood meal by a family owned restaurant for generations. The clams were perhaps my favorite thing on this entire trip coupled with Vinho Verde and the local cheese, bread, olive oil and olives and we also had a delicious swordfish. Can't recommend enough the family owners and the experience.

Grilled sardines with salad and potatoes

Easily one of the best lunches in Portugal, let alone Nazare! Skip the seaside tourist traps, this place is a gem up into the neighborhood. Fresh fresh fresh fish, authentic ambiance, genuine staff/ownership. Solo lunch was grilled sardines: amazing with the starters of cheese olives and bread. Generous pours of their olive oil make this meal such a treat! Matched with fabulous service and smiles, make this a destination! Very small, maybe 20 seats.

I am convinced service cannot get better than Rosa dos Ventos. The staff was so incredibly helpful and friendly! We were treated like honored guests at this lovely little restaurant. They even gifted us some free shots with shot classes at the end of our meal. On top of that, the food was sublime. We had clams, grilled flounder, salad, potatoes, and a half pitcher of wine. We sat outside and watched the village life meander around us. The seaside was just in view as we leisurely sipped our amazing alentejo red. It was a full Nazare experience and I can't recommend this place enough! Check them out! They have the best grilled fish.

    After dinner gingiña

My wife and I were in Nazaré for two days and everyone we asked for a place to go to dinner told us we had to go to Rosa dos Ventos. Sure enough, we went one of the nights with no reservations. Upon arriving we were told to wait maybe 10-15 minutes. After a short wait they took us to our table in the minuscule restaurant of maybe 8-10 tables. We were blown away by the warm atmosphere of friendly locals mixed with tourists. The staff were super hospitable, and for dinner they showed us a tray of a variety of fish of which we chose the red snapper. The food was basic grilled fish served with steamed vegetables, both of which were excellent. We will certainly be back and we strongly recommend RDV to anyone stopping or visiting Nazaré. It's not hard to find and certainly worth looking for. Enjoy.

Wonderful , family owned spot off the beaten path. We had a magnificent meal of fresh fish seasoned perfectly. The owner comes from generations of fishermen so you know you're getting a high quality product. Make the effort and steer away from the main drag and check this place out!

Amazing fresh fish dishes. Indoor seating is good but outdoor during the day is amazing. Service excellent, food excellent. Must try this place if you're in Nazare. Very authentic and local experience. You won't go wrong. I would come back all the way to Nazare just to es

We enjoyed the food and the service was good. It's a family owned restaurant. The ambiance is like a home setting. They made you feel like you are part of the family. We had the grilled sardines , dorado, and clams. They were perfectly grilled, my wife ordered the grilled chicken and that was moist and full of flavor.

The clams and the dorado fish were delicious. The red snapper was too dry and not flavorful. The compliment wine was tasty. Thanks

The restaurant has a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere right by the lookout of the beach. It looked like they were short staffed cuz the restaurant was full with only two servers and probably less people in the kitchen because I felt the service was slow I had the grilled seabass and shrimp for appetizer. Both dishes were excellent. The seabass was perfectly grilled, moist and flaky inside with just the right char, while the shrimp were plump, juicy, and seasoned beautifully. The flavors were clean and really highlighted the freshness of the seafood. If you're in Nazaré, this is definitely a place to check out for simple, perfectly prepared seafood.

What an amazing meal with beautiful views!…read more We were visiting Nazaré during a tour and stopped here for lunch. We started our meal with an appetizer of olives, bread, and cheese. The cheese was so fresh and the appetizer as a whole tasted great! The servers were all quick and I noticed them speaking English with other customers, so if you don't speak Portuguese then you should still be fine. Our main dishes were loaded with garlic flavors. We absolutely loved this entire meal and loved seeing the ocean outside of the windows. Overall, I highly recommend visiting this location if you are visiting Nazaré!
