All I can say is delicious!!! They open at 7pm and we got the last table at 7:20pm. We had a fantastically magical meal of clams Portuguese style, grilled squid and catch of the day grilled flounder. Absolute magic in this place! Be sure to bring cash because they do not accept any cards. The owner is very kind and attentive, and you are seated and served within no time at all. They bring you fresh fish to choose from if you like, and then give you bread with butter and some tuna as an appetizer (this is something common in Portugal, they then add it to your bill without ever asking if you even wanted it, surprising, but this is how the custom is). We ended up getting the clams in a butter, lemon, and herb broth. It was absolutely divine! We also ordered the grilled sardines, which were grilled to perfection and they were huge! Stopped here for lunch on our way from Lisbon to Coimbra. All the 5 star reviews pointed us to this great restaurant. We got to Nazare at 2:30 and they close at 3:15 so we knew we were in for a treat. This was THE best meal we had in Portugal. When they say fresh fish, they mean it. Portuguese Clams were delicious. This is an owner operated restaurant and you will not be disappointed. When checking out the Yelp review, I was looking at the clams but once we were seated they brought us pictures of the three fresh fish of the day. How can I pass up fresh fish? We had the red snapper and oh my gosh it was so delicious! I didn't even eat the potatoes or salad because all I could do was eat that snapper. My husband had a glass of wine and he enjoyed that thoroughly. The owner and his family who still work are some of the kindest people ever and they have pictures of everybody on the walls. He gave us a little bit of history about his great-grandfather who was the first to open the place as a wine shop and it became a restaurant over time. They even gifted us some free shots with shot classes at the end of our meal. On top of that, the food was sublime. We had clams, grilled flounder, salad, potatoes, and a half pitcher of wine. My wife and I were in Nazaré for two days and everyone we asked for a place to go to dinner told us we had to go to Rosa dos Ventos. Sure enough, we went one of the nights with no reservations. Upon arriving we were told to wait maybe 10-15 minutes. After a short wait they took us to our table in the minuscule restaurant of maybe 8-10 tables. We were blown away by the warm atmosphere of friendly locals mixed with tourists. The staff were super hospitable, and for dinner they showed us a tray of a variety of fish of which we chose the red snapper. The food was basic grilled fish served with steamed vegetables, both of which were excellent. We will certainly be back and we strongly recommend RDV to anyone stopping or visiting Nazaré. Lunch here was a top experience from our 4 days in Portugal. There really isn't much better than having the server provide a choice of 3 types of fresh fish brought to the table for viewing and selection. We chose the snapper which weighed in at 800g. The bread and cheese was a nice start. My wife enjoyed the olives. The white wine came in a chilled, almost snow packed jug. It was tasty w the fish. We enjoyed a vegetable soup. It was more potato-based than tomato which was a nice change of pace. It was a good way to start. The fish came out and was beautiful. Grilled fish can be tricky, sometimes drying out a bit. Not this fish. Incredibly juicy through and through. Although there are a lot of bones in a full fish, separating was not difficult. The Kama was super good. I put some of the olive oil and vinegar on my boiled potatoes. They were delicious. The salad was also nice. Following eating, we had said we picked the place hearing about the fisherman family connection. Victor gave us some good history back to the 1950s with pictures of family on boats. It made for an enjoyable lunch and something we will remember. We then ordered the flan which was amazing and Victor provided a small after lunch surprise. If back in Portugal, we would return. Note, this is a cash only place which is not all that uncommon, but helpful to know in today's world. While you can eat for under 20 euro, make sure to bring more so you have some flexibility on how good you want to eat. read more

This store is not on the main path in front of the beach but down an alley right off the main strip. It's family owned and extremely tiny, I saw maybe about 5 tables inside and two outside. However, this place is amazing! The fish here they have is extremely fresh and even show you the different fishes on the plate when you are deciding what to order. This little place is absolutely fantastic! We were a party of 5 with 3 kids and a slight wait and the waiter/maybe owner offered us beers while we waited. Once seated we were shown the fresh fish for the day on a platter - we chose the line snapper and we also ordered the clams and OMG - fantastic and then the butter/garlic sauce was fabulous to soak up with the bread. So this place has a 5 star for a reason!! The Owner Raymond was the best!! From the moment he was asking our name for our table asking us if we knew Portuguese and of course we don't. he spoke to us in Portuguese for about 3 minutes straight and totally got us and he spoke English ! So, so good!!! This is a tiny, family-run place with the freshest local fish prepared simply and perfectly. We had the clams appetizer, and immediately ordered a second because those clams were so delicious. And the grilled, wild-caught branzino was fantastic. We wish we could find this back in New York! The next day we went to check out a new restaurant for lunch, but decided to go back for a repeat of the previous dinner instead. It was just as good! And when the owner and server recognized us, they treated us like kings! We found out the fish served is all caught by the owner. He told us the stories behind all the family photos decorating the restaurant. And he recommended where to hear great fado when we returned to Lisbon. We came here for lunch based on the recommendation from our guide/driver. It's a small place, but wait for a table if you must. The owner, Raimundo, is fantastic. He takes tremendous pride in what he serves. He has fresh fish that he shows on the platter and charges for those by the kilo. He also has other dishes that are always on the menu. I ordered the grilled sardines and my wife ordered the "special" turbot. WOW! It was the best meal I had in Portugal. He cooks his fish outside on a grill and you could take the freshness and smoke from the coals. His sardine dish had five sardines. Raimundo found a smaller turbot so my wife could have that for lunch. Overall, if I were Nazare for vacation, I would probably eat there ever night. read more

My wife came here for lunch before spending the afternoon on the beach. It's a small-medium establishment with about seating for 24 inside and another 8 outdoors. The host/owner was very warm, and explained to us what parties were in front of us as we waited. We waited about 20 minutes, and he constantly checked on us to let us know our progress despite being very busy with the full house. The lemon lemon mousse for dessert was delectable. The owner warned us that it was very lemony and had mixed reception (one customer took one bite and was done, whereas another couple order 1 serving each, and then upon each finishing proceeded to order a 3rd to share). If you like key lime pie, you'll love it, we found it surprisingly delightful. I highly recommend giving this place a try if you're in the area. Keep in mind we visited early November, so it was off-season. By the time we left, the place was about 70% full. Food was excellent and they offer fresh fish daily.
