If Yelp let you give a sixth star once a year, this would be the place I'd leave it. Let's get coffee out of the way - stellar. I'd stop in for a cup even if i didn't want a cigar. As for the lounge, no cigar lounge will ever be the same. This should be the standard by which every other establishment is rated. Truly incredible people, staff, and selection of a brand you're not likely to see distributed too far from here. fortunately they mail order - and their customer service is top notch. can't wait to go back. the sticks are good, well made, good flavor, and the coffee and service can't be beat. and it's clean and comfortable - just my kinda vibe. read more

Visited for the first time during their monthly "customer appreciation event". The total experience was perfect. Ownership made themselves available amongst all present while sitting, smoking and talking with all as well as serving whoever needed anything. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure every patron is fully informed, happy and receives the best service. Of course the main reason all visit are for their premium cigars. Unlike most cigar shops they don't rely on liquor, other consumables and merchandise to make cigars the "add on" rather than the Star as these sticks blended by ownership and handmade in Nicaragua should be. While the quality is premium the cost is not and that's another thing lost in the "Cigar Add On" lounges. If you're in Ybor or just want a tremendous cigar in a Real "Cigar Shop(like the old time")go to Tabanero and experience it all. You will surely be bringing some home with you after smoking such premium blends so make room in the humidor or just get another one LOL. read more

Tabanero Cigars - Some the the Premiums I enjoyed and had to bring home - Tobacco Shops Near Me - Tampa, Florida

I love checking out new coffee spots even though I'm not the biggest coffee drinker. I've passed by this place about 100 times & never been inside! I decided to stop in on a morning walk. There was a couple people ahead of us and a lot of people that ended up coming in behind us. The two staffers were nice. One of them came around to assist us as we were waiting & just let us know that someone should be with us quickly. I was recommended the Cortido which was really good. Maybe one day i will come back and grab a cigar with coffee. read more

Great selection, service, and vibe. I visited on a Tuesday early afternoon. Not a lot going on, which was perfect for me. Enjoyed a nice Porter along w/a medium house hand rolled. Perfecto. read more

Ybor City was quiet on a rainy Sunday morning. Had to swing through on my way out of town and Tabanero Cigar did not disappoint. Great/friendly service with a smile. I enjoyed a Robusto Connecticut Single and a cafe con leche and enjoyed both immensely. Warm and relaxing atmosphere with a very helpful and welcoming staff. The Connecticut shade made for a smooth and enjoyable draw and was complimented by the great coffee...Highly recommended you give it a try! read more

THIS IS THE SPOT. I had the perfect morning here with a cup of their cafe con leche and a cigar that the front counter lady helped me pick out. Vibes are immaculate - clean, great service, and decor to make you feel like a boss. Cigars were well kept and provided me with a perfect smoke for 45 minutes. I've tried a few other spots around Ybor but I'm telling you, this is the best spot. read more

When you hear someone say this is my "home-based" cigar lounge, you definitely have to visit to see why. When my bruh Mike spoke those words about Tabanero o had to slide through. We both went on a beautiful Sunday and it was everything I expected. Wasn't busy at all so I was able to get top notch service. Greeted at the door, the sommelier was amazing offered us both a free cigar!! Which was one of the best smokes I've ever had They don't sell alcohol but they have beer, wine and coffee. This place is beyond a normal cigar lounge. You can only walk in these doors and get these cigars or you can order online. Trust me it's best to walk in the doors and have a full experience of Tabanero Cigars! read more

When in Tampa...and Ybor - one must stop for a cigar. I mean, "when in Rome!" Awesome joint. Comfortable lounging and friendly place to spend some time absorbing all things Ybor City. Lots of options to choose from as well as Cuban coffee!!! Can't say that I'm a cigar connoisseur - so I can't compare pricing/value of cigars. read more

Authentic cigar lounge at the center of Ybor City, directly across from Centro Ybor, and the BEST CIGAR LOUNGE in Ybor City! The cigars are always fresh, hand rolled, and made with only premium leaf's! The staff is very knowledgeable and Mr. Steve is a wealth of history, so if you ever have time, ask him to tell you about the history of cigars in Ybor, you will not be disappointed! I tend to like the Connecticut line the most! They burn perfect, the ash is thick and usually gets close to 1' before dropping off! The flavor is amazing, and the color of the ash supports their claim of using very rich soil for their cigars. I also love their candela stick - for those of you who are new to smoking, this is great choice as it is light and pairs well with the white chocolate mocha! I like to think of this stick as, "The night cap". If you love cigars, if you love knowledgeable staff, if you love supporting local, if you love a great story, this is your place! read more

Omg. Maybe I'm too new to everything to really review and judge. This is a combination cigar and coffee bar. The cigars are beautifully rolled and offer a wide selection at various price points. I bought a few and smoked one. So far, it's excellent. For me though, the coffee is where it's at. Delicious Cuban style coffee. So rich and flavorful. I brought a bag home and have begrudgingly shared... it just so tasty and nice to have. Great location, great helpful staff who take pride in quality. Definitely recommend if you find yourself in the ybor area. read more

Ok truth I haven't been here however one of my volunteers brought me a toro Connecticut back to Michigan and I'm currently smoking it now. My review of the cigar: first thing i smoke 4-6 cigars a day andI was worried as I smoke medium and full strength cigars but this baby isn't a mild cigar. First third has impressed me with enough strength to satisfy me. Flavor wise and I cheat here because I look up flavor notes to pinpoint notes and I'm getting a pleasant wood note. Burn has been nice and consistent with not touch ups needed at all. When I travel to Florida I will definitely come to this business to experience everything they have. read more

Hubby wanted some cigars while in town. We stopped by this location and they had a great selection and the staff was very knowledgeable and offered suggestions and information on the different wraps, styles, and types they offered. They also had someone rolling cigars in the front of the shop which entertained the kids for a little while. They also have a coffee shop in the back of the store as well. Incredible establishment with attentive staff. You can tell by the customers, that this place is authentic and filled with quality cigars. The Café con Leche was a perfect pairing to the cigar and the leather sofas were relaxing. The owner is very nice and welcomed me with open arms to his corner establishment. Tabanero Cigars - One sitting area to enjoy your cigar and beverage of choice. - Tobacco Shops Near Me - Tampa, Florida

A true old school cigar shop. A friend and I dropped in while walking down the middle of Ybor last weekend. We stopped into a couple other places first but they didn't seem welcoming at all; mostly dark and unstaffed. We were greeted right away when we walked in and the different cigar choices were explained by the knowledgeable gent at the counter. Because neither of us had tried a green-wrapped stogie, we both opted for a candela. We sat with other patrons and smoked it inside as we chatted with that gentleman and the owner. It's comfortable and relaxing inside, just like a cigar shop should be. Most cigars were in the $10 range and all are rolled there in the shop most days. There is also a small coffee stand in the rear of the building but we didn't try it. read more

Tabanero Cigars is a top notch local cigar shop with fresh, handmade cigars and outstanding customer service. I walked in one after noon for a couple cigars. I'd done some online research and had an idea of what I wanted. Tabanero has the local family owned feel and I liked that. I was immediately greeted by a gentleman behind the counter. He welcomed me and asked what I was looking for. This place has a small but well stocked cigar humidor and a coffee bar. Just cigars today. The gentleman walked me over to the humidor case, opened it up and gave me a rundown on what they have to offer. He had extensive knowledge of the cigars and I knew I couldn't go wrong with any choice I made. Two cigars was under $15. Next time I want a cigar, I'm definitely coming back here. read more

I'm not a big cigar smoker, but I was in Ybor today and decided to stop in. The staff was super helpful in picking out a cigar that matched my tastes, and I ended up just sitting outside smoking and drinking Cuban coffee and people watching. 10/10 would do again. read more

I know what you're thinking: "what does Ginger even know about cigars?" And to answer that...zippo, nada, zilch. But what I do know is great customer experience and that's exactly what this is. Yanko, the owner was standing right behind the coffee bar dawning a fantastic hat and smile. He greeted us immediately but allowed us to meander through and enjoy the sights and smells before approaching. We watched as a gentleman was preparing boxes up front (traditionally there would be rollers here, but not during Covid times) for a moment before making our way to the impressive cigar case. We were shopping for cigars for my father in law. A man we know a lot about yet somehow have no clue what cigar style he prefers. Yanko gave us some direction and pointed out a couple sampler packs. The packaging for everything was what totally sold me, personally. There is a wide variety with an equally wide variety of prices (bookmarked for easy gifts for people later) from $6 up to the $200s. We ultimately selected a swanky $40 sampler that comes with language describing each cigar (bless, because I would never remember all this) and a couple other individual cigars for some other folks. As we left I mentioned how disappointed I was that I didn't order a coffee Cubano while there and my husband shared the sentiment. You know that thing where you're both waiting for someone to say something? Yeah I guess we were both waiting for someone to spearhead that. But it's okay! This just means we MUST come back! Also the A+ packaging makes its way to the bags. Looks like this is a gift I won't even have to wrap! I love when businesses value and recognize the details. read more

I'm not much of a cigar smoker, but do enjoy a good cup of expresso. When In Ybor City my wife always wants to go here for a café con leche. She grew up in Cuba and knows her stuff. Her grandfather was a tobacco farmer and she would help prepare the leaves to dry. Anyway she loves the aroma of this place and says they make a good cup of coffee. I agree. read more

Came here for the cigar tour today. It was advertised as a 45 minutes; our tour lasted over an hour. Steve has an abundance of historical knowledge of the area, however, I don't think there is enough to see or experience at this small retail establishment/cigar lounge in order to put together a tour. The tour consists of watching the two gentlemen sitting at tables by front window who are the cigar rollers. They each make between 100-150 cigars each day. Then the second part of the tour takes you about 10 feet away to the walk-in humidor. Here you will learn about the history of Ybor City (fascinating stuff!) and where the shop gets their tobacco, storing cigars, aging them, etc. The tour concludes back in the main area with a brief slide show about cutting cigars. The cost of the tour is $15.00 and includes a hot cup of cafe con leche from the barista. One thing I want to mention is that the smell of cigar smoke is overwhelming. If you sign up for this tour, be prepared to deal with the smoke for over an hour. read more
