I love checking out new coffee spots even though I'm not the biggest coffee drinker. I've passed by this place about 100 times & never been inside! I decided to stop in on a morning walk. There was a couple people ahead of us and a lot of people that ended up coming in behind us. The two staffers were nice. One of them came around to assist us as we were waiting & just let us know that someone should be with us quickly. I was recommended the Cortido which was really good. Ybor City was quiet on a rainy Sunday morning. Had to swing through on my way out of town and Tabanero Cigar did not disappoint. Great/friendly service with a smile. I enjoyed a Robusto Connecticut Single and a cafe con leche and enjoyed both immensely. Warm and relaxing atmosphere with a very helpful and welcoming staff. Vibes are immaculate - clean, great service, and decor to make you feel like a boss. Cigars were well kept and provided me with a perfect smoke for 45 minutes. When you hear someone say this is my "home-based" cigar lounge, you definitely have to visit to see why. When my bruh Mike spoke those words about Tabanero o had to slide through. We both went on a beautiful Sunday and it was everything I expected. Wasn't busy at all so I was able to get top notch service. Greeted at the door, the sommelier was amazing offered us both a free cigar!! Which was one of the best smokes I've ever had They don't sell alcohol but they have beer, wine and coffee. This place is beyond a normal cigar lounge. You can only walk in these doors and get these cigars or you can order online. The cigars are always fresh, hand rolled, and made with only premium leaf's! The staff is very knowledgeable and Mr. Steve is a wealth of history, so if you ever have time, ask him to tell you about the history of cigars in Ybor, you will not be disappointed! I tend to like the Connecticut line the most! They burn perfect, the ash is thick and usually gets close to 1' before dropping off! The flavor is amazing, and the color of the ash supports their claim of using very rich soil for their cigars. Ok truth I haven't been here however one of my volunteers brought me a toro Connecticut back to Michigan and I'm currently smoking it now. My review of the cigar: first thing i smoke 4-6 cigars a day andI was worried as I smoke medium and full strength cigars but this baby isn't a mild cigar. First third has impressed me with enough strength to satisfy me. Flavor wise and I cheat here because I look up flavor notes to pinpoint notes and I'm getting a pleasant wood note. Burn has been nice and consistent with not touch ups needed at all. When I travel to Florida I will definitely come to this business to experience everything they have. read more

The Café con Leche was a perfect pairing to the cigar and the leather sofas were relaxing. The owner is very nice and welcomed me with open arms to his corner establishment. Because neither of us had tried a green-wrapped stogie, we both opted for a candela. We sat with other patrons and smoked it inside as we chatted with that gentleman and the owner. It's comfortable and relaxing inside, just like a cigar shop should be. Most cigars were in the $10 range and all are rolled there in the shop most days. He welcomed me and asked what I was looking for. This place has a small but well stocked cigar humidor and a coffee bar. Just cigars today. The gentleman walked me over to the humidor case, opened it up and gave me a rundown on what they have to offer. Yanko, the owner was standing right behind the coffee bar dawning a fantastic hat and smile. He greeted us immediately but allowed us to meander through and enjoy the sights and smells before approaching. We watched as a gentleman was preparing boxes up front (traditionally there would be rollers here, but not during Covid times) for a moment before making our way to the impressive cigar case. We were shopping for cigars for my father in law. A man we know a lot about yet somehow have no clue what cigar style he prefers. Yanko gave us some direction and pointed out a couple sampler packs. The packaging for everything was what totally sold me, personally. There is a wide variety with an equally wide variety of prices (bookmarked for easy gifts for people later) from $6 up to the $200s. We ultimately selected a swanky $40 sampler that comes with language describing each cigar (bless, because I would never remember all this) and a couple other individual cigars for some other folks. As we left I mentioned how disappointed I was that I didn't order a coffee Cubano while there and my husband shared the sentiment. You know that thing where you're both waiting for someone to say something? Yeah I guess we were both waiting for someone to spearhead that. But it's okay! This just means we MUST come back! Also the A+ packaging makes its way to the bags. Looks like this is a gift I won't even have to wrap! I love when businesses value and recognize the details. read more

Came here for the cigar tour today. It was advertised as a 45 minutes; our tour lasted over an hour. Steve has an abundance of historical knowledge of the area, however, I don't think there is enough to see or experience at this small retail establishment/cigar lounge in order to put together a tour. The tour consists of watching the two gentlemen sitting at tables by front window who are the cigar rollers. They each make between 100-150 cigars each day. Then the second part of the tour takes you about 10 feet away to the walk-in humidor. Here you will learn about the history of Ybor City (fascinating stuff!) and where the shop gets their tobacco, storing cigars, aging them, etc. The tour concludes back in the main area with a brief slide show about cutting cigars. The cost of the tour is $15.00 and includes a hot cup of cafe con leche from the barista. One thing I want to mention is that the smell of cigar smoke is overwhelming. If you sign up for this tour, be prepared to deal with the smoke for over an hour. read more
