Asada fries
Grace H.

Spotted Ta Chignon Taqueria on the corner of Olive & Clovis and decided to give it a try. For three items, our total came out to almost $40. The wait was about 10-15 minutes. What we got + what we thought: Asada Fries (3/5): Presentation was poor compared to other food trucks. There were slices of carrots and daikon radish which was different, but overall the taste was decent. *we asked for no jalapeños; they put jalapeños *we asked for red sauce - they said they would give us 6; they gave us 4 Asada Burrito (2.5/5): Tortilla tasted cheap and hard. Meat did not seem fresh. Chicken Quesadilla (0/5): Tortilla was EXTREMELY hard and the chicken was dry. The ingredients were not spread at all-- I would take one bite of only chicken then one bite of only cheese. $40 for three items was pretty pricey, especially since we didn't finish our food. I should've checked the reviews before trying out this place.

Just had the best tripa tacos I've had in a very long time!! This place is straight fire!! They have everything! Even quesabirria and cabeza! Soooooo damn GOOD!! Didn't have time to take picture of the tacos because I ate them so fast! Service was fantastic and food came out super fast! Located at the Arco on Clovis and olive! GO NOW! You can thank me late. FACT: I'm super picky with my tacos and was reluctant to come here because of the reviews and I was most definitely proven wrong and so thankful I tried it anyways!

I ordered a rice burrito with a hint of pastor. I was hoping the asada tacos had more meat. Flavorless too..

La Mexicana Bakery & Taqueria - Carnitas and adobada tacos

We had tacos, a torta and a burrito across our family of four and everything was delicious. We…read moreordered carne asada for the tortas and tacos and they literally threw it on the flattop seconds after ordering. Everyone who was working there was kind and attentive. As we were finishing our food they checked in on us to make sure everything was to our liking. There was no bakery aspect but they 100% delivered on fast, fresh and delicious food. Would absolutely visit again to get to try more of their menu! Gracias!

I don't think I've ever felt betrayed by Yelp reviews...until now…read more During a recent road trip we stopped here to picked up some lunch/dinner because tacos are quick and easy and their Yelp rating is high. Location/services: Upon entering the building I immediately noticed the heat. It was a hot 98 degree day and the restaurant felt like an oven and was maybe 3-5 degree cooler than it was outside. I then quickly noticed this was a very simple operation (almost like a food truck), and not much to the menu, but there were folks sitting and eating and a few others waiting to order, so I assumed the food must be great. We ordered 4 meals (tacos with rice/beans) which was meant to be eaten there but after waiting in line and feeling like we were in a hot box, we decided to make it to go. We sat and waited for our food (about 20 mins), we chatted and observed our surroundings and it became very apparent the restaurant was not maintained with basic cleaning because it was very grimy and just plain dirty. I then used the restroom and it was absolutely disgusting. Our ordered was called and the staff was very nice. The food: As I mentioned, we got 4 orders of tacos (all carne asada) with rice/beans, and we asked for salsa and limes. We got grilled jalapenos, lemons and one sandwhich baggy filled with red salsa. Not a big deal. The meat was fine but the tortillas were inedible. They were tough, flavorless, and greasy. The bean and rice were ok. We ate enough to curb our hunger but none of us finish our food. Upon my best judgement, I had convinced myself that the food was gonna be great because their Yelp rating told me so. I was so wrong! One last note, there was nothing here that resembled a bakery/panaderia. So if you think you could also grab a treat here, you are wrong.

What could have been a disappointing surprise turned into one of the best local dining experiences we've had in a long time. We had the pleasure of meeting Miguel himself, and his hospitality immediately stood out. He took the time to introduce us to several items on the menu and encouraged us to try a little bit of everything. I'm glad he did. The red beans and rice were absolutely phenomenal, and every single thing we tasted was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with pride. You can tell Miguel genuinely cares about both the food and the people he serves. What impressed me most wasn't just the food--it was the atmosphere. Miguel has a gift for making you feel welcome. His heart for hospitality is second to none, and it's obvious that serving great food and creating a great experience are his top priorities. If you're looking for a hidden gem in Clovis, this is it. Whether you're stopping in to catch a game, grab a meal with friends, or enjoy a simple flip-flop date night with your spouse, Miguel's is worth the visit. We'll definitely be back, and I can't recommend this place enough.

Not far from City College and definitely a great spot to grab some lunch!…read more I was on a job site when a coworker told me we had to stop here so I could try their bacon-wrapped burrito. First off, that sounded way too good to pass up! Once lunchtime came around, we made our way over. My buddy ordered the adobada tacos, while I went with the adobada bacon-wrapped burrito. I was seriously impressed. The burrito was packed with flavor, and I enjoyed it so much that I definitely see myself coming back. I also got to try one of my buddy's adobada tacos, and it was pretty good as well. If I had one small critique, it would be the cabbage on the tacos. When I think of tacos, cabbage isn't usually the first thing that comes to mind--I personally prefer some lettuce. But that's just my preference, and it didn't take away from the overall experience. The restaurant itself has a very open, spacious setup with more than enough seating. Every employee we interacted with was kind, friendly, and helpful, which made the visit even better. I'm really enjoying discovering all the great taco spots around Fresno, and this is definitely one I'd recommend stopping by and trying if you're in the area.

However, El Premio Mayor comes in as less expensive, and tastier than Chipotle. The burrito was moist but it held up well inside the tortilla. The asada was okay, and the flavor didn't dominate. The green salsa had no spice to it, so that is that. We appreciated the food. The only negative is the parking lot at the McKinley location. Too few parking spaces, but hey, if you don't mind a short hike there is huge parking in the shopping center across the canal. We will go back.
