We pulled into Travel Centers of America in our RV with problems with our black water. We seemed to have some kind of blockage in the system. After finding the dump station, which is near the street in front of the automobile gas station, I went to the cashier to get the key to unlock the cover to the dump station ($5 charge to use the station - very reasonable). When I opened the valve to the black water, I got nothing, indicative of a blockage. What to do? I went back to the cashier to see if they had a toilet plunger. The staff were very considerate and let me borrow theirs. I took it back to the motor home and gave it a try. Walla! It worked! It cleared the plug and we were back in business! Thanks to Travel Centers! You did us right. We'll stop in again to fill our tanks next time we come though. read more

I always stop here on my way back from LA, and with the fog so bad yesterday on my trip back, I had to stop and get breakfast. The All You Can Eat deal is actually pretty good. I liked the sausage, French Toast and hashbrown. There were no biscuits to put the gravy on, but it did mighty well over the home fries which were also better than passable. The gas was slightly higher than at Lost Hills, but not unreasonable at all considering. The little store had all the required things. ALl in all, it's a good place to stop for a half-hour if you need to. read more

2 Stars Looks like they've replaced the slow-mo employees with some normal people, but the pump doesn't read credit cards, and I had to go pre-pay inside. At night, expect to dodge huge moths flying around you while pumping gas....and if you look up in the sky, you'll see a bunch of bats (yea BATS) flying around, and maybe a pretty big owl. Pretty cool, but not enough to raise the rating. read more

Bathroom was disgusting. 10 am in the morning and wet toilet tissue all over the floor.

Clean, friendly, not scary, other stuff near by..like Starbocks and a country restaurant. Stopped here twice last weekend.. on the way down to Phx and on the way back. Bathrooms were clean.. easy access to and from the freeway. Other reviews are pretty spot on. Did not have a prob with soap running out or anything like that. Just grabbed gas, snacks and drinks and were on our way again. read more

It's a truck stop and as far as truck stops go this is my favorite one. I was shocked that with all my stops here I had not ever "checked in" on Yelp before. However on my away trips this is our first stop and it's early in the trip so we are usually wanting to hurry. This place is always clean. They had someone cleaning the pump area early in the morning on the last trip. The bathrooms are always clean. Easy to get in and out for those pulling trailers or RVs. Several diesel pumps. Good area with long parking slots for those longer stops. Easy on and off. read more

Clean, spacious bathrooms (though one of the toilets was clogged), no loud music, decent gas prices (the car side is confusingly actually a Mobil?), and both a Popeyes and a Taco Hell. But neither one is open late and their convenience store food and drink selection is pitiful. There is only one wall of cold cases and a tiny deli case of prepare sandwiches. So many rows are dedicated to merchandise I would never bother to look at during a pit stop. And there isn't a single black, sugar-free, or even low-sugar iced coffee in the place. They need some Starbucks black unsweetened cold brew or at least a flavor or two of La Colombe (I recommend the triple shot -- or mocha, if you want something that tastes like chocolate milk but keeps you up like coffee). Finally, the smell of smoke kept wafting in at the back of the store as if employees smoke in the back room (or maybe truckers smoke in the shower room?). read more

Great price for gas considering this stretch of I-5 has limited choices to begin with, lots of pumps and several okay junk food options.

Cheaper gas than Kettleman City and plenty of pumps and parking. The restrooms are also pretty clean. I haven't had any of the food here, but the options look plenty. read more

I drive to SF weekly for work from LA. This is a good place to fill up and if needed take a quick shower for $12 bucks. Gas prices are cheaper here than others on the 5fwy read more

I agree with some of the posts here. Pretty nice rest stop for someone who's trying to make it from nor to so cal. Restrooms are clean and automated flushing/sinks. There's a pizza hut, country pride restaurant right next door if you want to stop for food. Gas price is fair. Pretty large travel store. My first time here but my partner says he stops here with every drive to socal. read more

I just want to hate on the cashier LOL. I was on the bus from SJ to LA and we stopped here at midnight. I just woke up and wanted a Gatorade. So I get one and walk to the first cashier I see. Then homegirl says "I can help you even though I just opened" under her breath. Maybe I'm just cranky cuz I've been on a bus and woke up, but awww hellllllll nawwww. My bad I didn't notice the signed that said you weren't ready yet. Maybe you should fix your money drawer at the back before you show up at the register or just shut your mouth. RUDEEEE. read more

Since my last review in 2008 I had made this my stop from Orange County to SF weekly(since I travel between the two now. . This station is always clean and gas is priced fairly.. The reason for the lack of star is there is a "new" cashier (black guy/ only for the visual) is extremely LAZY! Last week I bought some items and when he was done I had to reach across the counter and grab my items. no bag even offered ! Next time i`ll say something.. read more

Used to be a good place for diesel pick ups but now they make you use the semi truck pumps. Doesn't sound bad but you HAVE to go inside to pay and the pumps flow to fast and will always overflow your tank spilling fuel everywhere. read more

This is the stop. Everytime we go south we stop and fill up here before we hit the grapevine. They have everything you need. Plenty of restrooms and clean. Showers, a game room so the kids can play while you rest or shop or whatever you need to do. The restaurant buffet is good. I was pleasantly surprised. This is located in the Travel Center and also goes by the name Country Pride. This Mexican buffet is fresh and takes me back to Yucatan with the sauces and salsas. Also a salad bar, soups, and desserts. This is a great value for 9 bucks. And you don't have to wait for anyone to take your order, so you can save some time on your long drive. FYI, the gas is cheaper down the street. read more

December 20, 2010 ... I'm not too pleased with my visit. While waiting for my breakfast order, a truck driver sat down. He asked: "where's the TV". The manager happened to be there to answer the question. The driver said "it's nice to watch the news like FOX to catch up on what's happening." The manager said: "we don't like the attitude or atmosphere created by that FOX news, and we don't like that type of thinking here ... so... we took out the TV". The trucker got up and went elswhere. When you're traveling the most important thing is CLEAN BATHROOMS. This Travel Center has clean and plentiful restrooms. You can also pick up some quick snacks and drinks and fill up on gas too. Ample parking and easy location to stop off the road and get back in again. read more

Must have been an off day. It was the end of a holiday weekend. Still, there didn't have to be garbage piled EVERYWHERE. Nobody was emptying trash so bins overflowed and paper garbage was blowing around the parking lot. I have traveled extensively in the third world and this compared with the worst places. Gas pump was easy to use but did not give me my receipt. As for the restrooms, I can't comment on the men's room since I didn't need it. I got a brief report on the ladies room and have a hard time with positive comments from others. Today it was disgusting. Perhaps cleaning and maintenance staff got the weekend off. There is no other explanation for the condition of the property. read more

We stopped on our way home from LA for gas and dinner. Gas was cheap, but the buffet was barely edible. The chicken was hard and dried out and the mashed potato's were like paste. Stopping for gas and snacks is fine but the buffet was horrible, would have gotten a better meal at McDonalds. read more
