I had to get my BLS for Healthcare Providers card renewed and am so happy I chose to get my in-person training from Eagle 1 CPR. I took the online portion of the American Heart Association's "Blended Learning Course" and was searching for a place to complete the in-person portion when I found Eagle 1 CPR, after which I called and reserved a spot in a class the following week. On the day of my class, Randy called to let me know that the previous class had finished early and that since I was the only one signed up for my class, I could head over early as well. I unfortunately couldn't go early, but the fact that they called was a really nice gesture! When I arrived, the building was locked but Randy was waiting in the lobby area and let me in. The course itself was great -- efficient yet thorough, and it left me with skills / knowledge that I can actually remember to apply in the future (as opposed to the online AHA course, which had beautiful simulations but had me memorizing numbers and processes in a way that wouldn't stick). From beginning to end, the class took around 45 minutes -- significantly less time than I was expecting, which was definitely a bonus in addition to the engaging class! Overall, I'd highly recommend this place and Randy as an instructor if you're looking to take a course for certification. The entire process from reserving my spot to actually taking the class was incredibly easy and efficient. To be honest, I was initially dreading the re-certification process, but Randy and Eagle 1 CPR made it so smooth that I know exactly where I'll be going when I need to get re-certified again! read more

I came across this place from a fellow student because I needed an AHA BLS certification for healthcare providers. Speaking with Randy on the phone, he was very succinct and I was able to sign-up for a class that very weekend. I've been CPR certified before and often times, it's difficult to stay alert during these things. This was not the case in Randy's class. His conciseness made sense to me after we learned that he is US veteran. He taught the class with a no-b.s., quick-witted and somewhat dry sense of humor that I appreciated. He was very straightforward and provided a very practical and realistic approach for performing BLS procedures, instead of just rattling off facts from the textbook. It was apparent that his years of experience providing CPR in the military and training others has enabled him to train us in a way that makes practical sense in high-stress situations. Definitely the best class I've taken! Randy made it enjoyable, practical and memorable. I've already directed two co-workers toward him and they agree! Powered through two certifications for healthcare providers in around 4 hours today, and loved it. Randy is an engaging instructor who uses creative analogies, real world situations, and personal experiences to explain BLS/CPR/AED and First Aid far better than any textbook or presentation. He talks not only about the HOWs but also the WHYs, such as the scientific reasoning behind certain decisions. Today I completed my third class in CPR, AED, and BLS required for new employment. This was by far the best and most informative class that I have taken. To be honest, I don't believe that I have paid for these classes in the past as they were provided by my employer if I remember correctly; or perhaps I paid a very minimal rate. Anyhow, the cost involved with Eagle 1 was by far well worth the knowledge I gained, as well as the instructional experience. I feel confident that I could comfortably perform any one of the things that I learned today on a person in need, whereas in the past I really don't feel that I learned much and I was merely checking off the box required for employment. Randy is the best instructor I've had so far, maybe ever will have. Not only is he engaging and funny, but he was able to finish the class in a short amount of time (I signed up for the BLS CPR/AED class). I never felt like the class dragged or that the time was not used effectively. I know sometimes the material is dry, but I honestly felt engaged the entire time. He sometimes asks you questions so you have to think instead of passively absorbing the information, but don't feel discouraged if you don't know the answers. He will go over everything! No boring/cheesy videos, which I appreciate since a lot of the time I never really remember the info it presents anyway. He relayed the material in a way I could better understand (delving into the anatomy a bit, explaining the difference between certain scenarios) and remember. I was happy to see that he already has 5 stars on Yelp, I'd be disappointed if he had any less. He deserves this rating, I can't recommend him enough! In terms of location and parking, it's pretty easy to find and there are four hour visitor parking spots in front of the building that's free.
