Be prepared--there are tests and quizzes almost day during the theory portion, and you'll be quizzed on your skills regularly during clinicals. Ms. Marie, the office manager, is incredibly helpful and organized, which made everything run smoothly. We also had Ms. Cynthia for two days during clinicals, and she was fantastic--her experience and teaching style helped solidify what we'd been learning and provided us with some tips! Both Mr. V and Ms. Cynthia have decades of experience as RNs, and it really shows in how they teach and support students. The classrooms are comfortable, and the skills labs are well equipped, which made hands-on practice easy and effective. If you're serious about becoming a CNA and ready to work hard, this program is definitely worth it.

Random, but not inconvenient or obtrusive) Awesome: They offer a variety different class dates and times, you can pay online via Paypal, and our instructor Tricia- she was GREAT! funny, energetic, engaging; definitely seemed like she had done this before and new what she was doing. Also materials/props seemed clean and well-maintained. Our 6PM class even got complimentary coffee! Good: Price is lower end compared to other places, handouts were concise and easy to understand. They didn't try to sell a bunch of extra materials like other places do... but they DO still offer and have them available! Note: The official handbook thing isn't necessary, even for healthcare providers. I bought one for $10, so no great loss...but you don' t need it. Also the website looks ehhhhhh, but works just fine :)

My certifications expired in 2011, and since I needed to be recertified, I returned to A B CPR. My instructor this time was CJ, and she was just as knowledgeable and funny as Tricia, telling us stories and jokes about her experiences. Both times I went to the Mission Valley location, because it was the most convenient for me. They're the most reasonable place to get your certifications, and you can pay from their website by PayPal.

As…read morea newbie into healthcare/emergency services etc and without any previous knowledge like anatomy classes etc, I had so much to learn, just listen in lectures and you'll pass and do great. I did the accelerated course for 5 weeks Mon-Thu 8am-5pm. Tips: 1. whether you have general knowledge of the topics covered in an EMT course or not, acknowledge that you are gonna be digesting a lottttt of new information. Get good sleep, take your notes, apply yourself don't just show up to class and expect to pass 2. Create a good set up. I did my sign/symptoms homework over the weekend in addition to the online JBL quizzes. (both graded). This way during the week all I had to worry about was learning new information, being ahead, and studying for the in person quiz and exam. 3. Ask questions, the instructor is a tool that you can use. They are always there to help you and want you to succeed. Super knowledgeable and helpful, just have the courage to ask questions, especially when it's needed. 4. Sign up for your 2 required EMS rides early, if you do them in the second or third week it's better. A lot of the students including myself put dates for the last 2 weeks of the course, however EMS services can only have so many ride alongs.Hence, I just finished the course and am taking my 2nd ride along the week after because it was backed up. Do it early. 5. Make friends in the class and help each other out. We were all able to bond over the topics that were harder to learn etc, it ended up helping a lot. Everyone the first week is obviously nervous but everyone is super nice just put yourself out there. 6. When your class is studying together for the quiz or exam and Spencer is talking, listen CAREFULLY to what he says, if he repeats something or says it slowly, it's for a reason, study it for the quiz/exam. You will be doing yourself the biggest disadvantage if you don't listen to the instructor in class. 7. The skills assessments. You get out what you put in. Skills instructors are there to help teach you and correct you in practice, but be able to make mistakes and learn before skills testing day. 8. Manage your time effectively. Some students understood the information better than others and were able to enjoy themselves more outside of class time, for students like myself, the information was hard to grasp and the extra time outside of class is needed to study more. Expect to be done with class, go home and study what you learned. 9. Quizlet helps a lot, however cross check the information on there with your notes. (the book wasn't really much of help). But Spencer goes over all of the important topics in detail. Quizlet is good for practice but know your definitions and how things work. 10. Not everyone in the class but most were taken as a prerequisite for Fire Service. Super nice to network with everyone on this journey and get more information about the different routes people are on. I believe we started with 60 individuals and ended with 40 passing or so. Overall, the class was not that difficult if you followed these. At a bare minimum, turn everything in on time, keep up in the class or get ahead, LISTEN to the instructor. Great experience. Also the Cargo Cafe coffee shop there is phenomenal. Very convenient. About to take NREMT, super confident and studying pocket prep after the class. Goodluck y'all.

Keep ahead of the required reading and REALLY MASTER the signs and symptoms of shock, cardiac, stroke and diabetes disorders or your you're giving them $1500.00 for free

This business is an absolute horrible scam. I paid for the fast track class and then they proceeded…read moreto notify me after the fact that I needed multiple vaccines before the end of the two week period or my classes would automatically be rescheduled to a further date. Number one, I was taking the class full-time so I didn't have enough time to get those vaccines. They're also very expensive vaccines that the school doesn't help you pay for which is an unreasonable expectation to give a student AFTER they paid 1500 for a class. I called customer service to get a refund because the website states that you're entitled to a refund if you're dissatisfied with the service, however the customer service rep told me that in the fine print it's a prorated refund. I did not even get the prorated refund over the phone so I had to file a claim with my bank. Once I filed a claim with my bank, the company reversed the claim again. Obviously, I'm not making this up because if you read almost any other review about this place on any website, it's all negative. They also didn't have the right size clothes I paid for. Not to mention, they reschedule classes in the middle of the night and change the format back-and-forth between online and in person which makes it impossible to attend. If I had the time I would get a lawyer, but all I want is my money back

We took an adult, child, and infant CPR class offered by Scripps here, and I CANNOT recommend it…read more Right from the start, the class was disorganized. Apparently too many people booked, so the instructor went around the class demanding to see everyone's paperwork and claiming that some of the attendees must have the wrong date. When everyone proved that they had indeed registered for the date in question, rather than apologizing, the instructor became defensive and told us that she didn't have enough infant mannequins to go around. When people started to question the efficacy of learning CRP without a mannequin, she continued complaining about the program management as she went off to scrounge up some additional mannequins. Even after finding 3-4 more mannequins (one of which apparently didn't work) there still weren't enough to go around, so about half the class had to share. The class itself consisted of the instructor playing videos to us, and making uncomfortable jokes, including one about having to stay alive to keep her children away from her ex-husband. Eventually another instructor arrived to assist, and this one was markedly better. Still, it's likely we could have gotten the same level of training by simply watching the videos. My advice to those looking for CPR, especially expectant parents, is to look elsewhere.

However they have made it so easy and now my son loves to go to daycare and loves all his friends. All 3 care takers are kind, loving and everything we can ask for.
