Walking into a T2 store to sample all the teas is like heaven for me.
It was only this week that I managed to sit inside the tea house and take it all in.
First thing I noticed was how darn Asian this place is. The walls are covered with Chinese newspaper wallpaper. The railings are asian. Chinese calligraphy paintings at the back wall. I couldn't help but turn to my friend and say in my native fob accent "Oooh! Waiter, there's a dragon in my cup!" (I didn't make that up... I was reading off the menu... don't believe me? look here http://www.yelp.com.au/biz_photos/dnq0UxpH_VHQEDHt4Ptf6g?select=greeqtXDLrHCb2ythNnAMA#-xR_j7jalhGgQ4wXYyV0Sw).
I finally settled on the creme brulee tea ($4.50). A dessert in tea form! Usually I don't add any sugar or milk into my tea but on this ocassion it was a must so that creamy taste comes out.
My friend is a celiac so I assumed we'd just be drinking tea but no, we went to ask the waitress what food items were gluten free and I was surprised to find that a good portion of their food is gluten free. She listed so many items I couldn't keep up!!
Ended up with the gluten free brownie. Obviously it can't compare to a normal brownie but even so my friend said it was pretty average.
This place is uniquely furnished with vintage tables and chairs. I love how they give you pots instead of a table number so that the waiters are running around trying to deliver orders to the correct colored teapot.
Long live tea love! read more
