This place is so neat! My sister-in-law comes here regularly for rocks. My mom seems to always have…read morea need for rocks so I figured we should add a stop here while in the area. You pull in and then drive up onto a scale to weigh your car prior to doing anything else. There is a stop light and staff will note your car and weight. The light turns green and you head to the rocks that you want. You can select one style and then head back to weigh. After getting the new weigh, you can then get more rocks of another style, and weigh again. Keep of track of the types of rock you are getting. We only got white steppers so only needed to do the one weigh. After our last weigh in, we parked and headed in to pay. Prices seemed reasonable. We'll be back for more rocks when in the area again.

I arrived before closing time and was in the middle of placing my order when she abruptly refused to continue because it was exactly 4:30 PM. Despite already starting the order, she insisted they couldn't proceed because they had been working since 6 AM and needed to leave. I understand wanting to close on time, but refusing to complete an order that had already begun--just minutes before closing--is unacceptable. While I was discussing delivery details with another staff member, she turned away and started muttering under her breath. I've never encountered such discourteous behavior in a customer-facing role. It's hard to understand how a business can thrive with this kind of attitude toward customers.

I set it up for last Friday before Noon as I had a crew waiting to spread. About 11:30 still no show so I called only to hear that my order was put in the Saturday delivery folder, not Friday's! They eventually came but lost my crew for the day. This was the more disappointing part. I typically order 7 yards from Anderson which was always more than enough but this year I went with 8 yards just to have extra for the fall. I was surprised when we fell short and questioned if we actually received the full 8 yards. Spoke to Nancy and explained what we experienced, but was assured after talking to her people that we got what we paid for. I was more disappointed that as a long time customer who never had a prior complaint that no consideration was offered to make me whole, not even for a single $42/yard of mulch! I don't think that would have been a lot to ask or even consider that a mistake may have been made. Perhaps they will restore my faith and call me back

This one in Carpentersville is nice to shop at, because it's a little hidden and harder to get to than the other ones, so (at least in my mind) it's never crowded in here. For this trip, I came in to get a light switch and I was pleased with the selection. I used the app ahead of time to find out the exact location of the product in the store. The only part I wish there was more of is that I like how at the other retail chain, there's always someone walking around to answer your questions if you have any. It's not that that's not available here, it's just that there seems to be less people on the floor. When I do find someone, however, they have always been polite and helpful.
