I'm just gonna copy and paste the letter that I sent them so you all can see my experience. This is the worst company. I have been trying to track down my money for seven months and after inviting this letter, they apologized and said that there was a mistake, but it was quickly corrected, but I don't understand how it was corrected if I have a missing almost $2000 out there in the world. "I wanted to resolve an issue than has been very frustrating and gone on too long. I had an account through Pony Studios and I was told that the plan had stopped. I had my financial advisor reach out and get a check of the funds to roll over into another account. We got a check for $7,376.93. Months later I get a statement saying that I have a balance of $2,055.22. After I logging on and seeing this, I get an email a few days later with a document stating a bunch of fees and Termination of Employment that basically takes the fund to $0. I called TRowe only to be talked to rudely and basically yelled at and told that any accounts that were under $2,000 TRowe doesn't deal with, and they were transferred to some other bank (without me being notified or provided any account number) I was given a phone number to call someone in Utah about it?? This number has no answering message or info and just beeps. I have left a few voicemails. (If this number is even real) Now I have received a 1099R statement showing a rollover of 9,307. I never received that additional $1930.71 I have attached the screenshots of the info I am referencing. I don't even understand how any of this can be legal and I need this resolved ASAP. I want the $1930.71 to be returned to me I am beyond furious." read more

Terrible experience trying to roll over my 401k to an IRA at another firm. Had to to have them mail a check. Provided me with incorrect information and did not follow my instructions. I requested overnight ($30 surcharge) because of the large amount and they told me it would automatically go overnight. Wrong. They sent it regular mail and because my brokerage firm has different addresses for overnight and regular mail it's now headed for the wrong address. And I have to wait up to 10 days for delivery. Oh, and I want to have them reissue the check it's another 10 days. Then on the phone their supervisor told me it was my fault. Speechless. Stay away from this company. They sent me an E check and I deposited into my bank account and now my account that was never negative is now negative $3,490 because the E check they had me deposit was bad and now my account is in the process of being closed and they are pressing charges. read more

I've had this brokerage firm for over a decade - performance has been lackluster and the fees are exorbitant. If I compare very similar funds from their primary competitor (Vanguard - thankfully I have similar ones with them), the performance is outpaced at an embarrassing clip. I wouldn't recommend anyone utilize this firm - they are losing the race in investments/performance. One star is absolutely adequate for their results, use interface, and customer service. read more

Have been with them since 1990. Back in the day they were fantastic. I'm not sure what's happening lately. They somehow created an additional brokerage account with no rhyme or reason. I called them 3x and they said it was a computer glitch. Really, a compute glitch on its own creates a totally new account? They said they would remove it, that was back in October and its still there. Their new webpage absolutely sucks and has lost it's more useful features. I can no longer go back over my trades for the year and search on specific ticker symbols. Have to slog thru all trades and view them in time order. I've been slowly pulling my money out and putting it elsewhere. Very sad for this once prestigious firm. read more

If you have a choice do not go with T. Rowe price. I have no choice but to work with them through an employer program and it's a nightmare. Their system sends out an alert that someone tried to access my account, I call in to find out what the alert is for and they ask if I want to freeze access while they research, I directly ask what it will take to get the account unfrozen and they tell me I'll regain access following their investigation. Great. What they don't bother to tell me is that to regain access I have to get a form notarized stating I am who I am and I want my account unlocked and it needs to be sent by certified mail. Oh and the alert? Their "investigation" concluded it was a false alarm generated by their system - no one attempted to access my account. read more

If I could give less than 1 star, I absolutely would. My experience with T. Rowe Price has been nothing short of a nightmare. After my father-in-law passed away, my husband contacted them about his accounts -- an IRA and a trading account. When he sent through the death certificate, the representative told us that there had been "suspicious activity" and that the Transfer on Death (TOD) designation on the trading account had been changed to a third party shortly before my father-in-law died. The rep said the account would be sent to their fraud department. We were devastated -- believing we would have to go to court to fight for what was rightfully my husband's. We had to go through probate just to obtain the paperwork T. Rowe Price demanded before they would even disclose who the TOD had been changed to. That meant extra legal fees, unnecessary stress, and months of delay. Then, after all that chaos, the truth came out: the first rep had made a massive mistake. The trading account had always been in my husband's name. It was the IRA -- with only about $10,000 in it -- that had a third-party beneficiary. There was no apology, no accountability, nothing. Just silence and excuses. But that wasn't the end. For another six weeks, we were repeatedly told the funds were being transferred "soon." Every time we called, we got a different story. They never respond to emails -- apparently all written communication comes from their so-called "writing department" in the Czech Republic, which means every response was delayed by two to three months. This entire process has been a cruel exercise in incompetence, miscommunication, and bureaucracy. Do not trust your life savings with T. Rowe Price. If this is how they treat grieving families and long-time clients, I shudder to think how they handle everyday investors. read more

I have been with them for 25 years. Funds have done well and expenses while higher are more than worth it. Customer service has been solid as well but owning mutual funds does not require a lot of phone calls. I do admit that it works for me as I am old school buy and hold for decades. Modern investing is ETFs, stocks, and crypto so from that perspective they may fall behind. Or I am behind. If their brokerage is not top notch they will fail to compete. Horrible, horrible, horrible. Law office trying to assist a client with a transfer of deceased spouses account to surviving spouse who is listed as 100% beneficiary on a substantial IRA account and its current RMD. Initially (8 months ago) it took the assistant 3 hours on the phone with them to get information, forms to fill out, and the forms filled out with their assistance. Eight months later, the beneficiary (who has been receiving statements in their name), called in to get the RMD and was told there was no account; even after giving them all the information from statements, initial participant and beneficiary names, SSN, Plan ID etc. Most times when we call they can't find the account at all under either SSN. The beneficiary transfer docs they requested have been mailed to them twice in the past 8 months (because they do not do email or fax). Occasionally when you call in you get someone who can find the account but says they cannot issue the RMD due to an error code. A ticket gets opened to figure it out. After another couple of calls to check on the ticket you get a new individual who is again telling you there is no account, and no ticket, but there is a plan ID and we have to speak with the Plan Administrator to correct missing information (our office also happens to be the Plan Administrator and the information they request cannot be changed on our end). Requests to speak with a manager have been denied. I am definitely going to move my personal account - which is obviously going to be a painful process, but then I don't have to worry about any further dealings with them. I would rate T Rowe Price as less than zero stars, but this system requires at least one. read more

They sent out a $5,000 check to me from my account, no tracking, snail mail, never arrived. I called multiple times and they were very cold, saying that because it was not T. Rowe Price's error, they could not reissue an overnight check or direct deposit. It clearly wasn't my error, and they verified the funds were still there. I asked to speak to a manager and was given the run around, never was able to speak to any leadership. Waited and waited for the form to come after much frustration and aggravation I did not get it until April! Made numerous phone calls finally got a supervisor. I can only say good things about T Rowe's services for my wife and me. We had our IRAs with another company and the results were problematic...to say the least. Since switching to T Rowe we have seen our accounts return to more than positive results, and we enjoy the extraordinary assistance of a very competent advisor who provides valued information to guide our decisions. You cant access your money without taking a hardship withdrawal even then they might deny you claim even with proof of debt owed. I'll let the governmental agencies take over. Based on the facts that the personnel of TRP's Costco Concierge Group have repeatedly demonstrated blatant dishonesty coupled with obvious incompetence, I have decided to: 1. Stop personally pursuing the recovery of my retirement funds as the experience is too frustrating for $26,000. T R P is now one of the worst investment firms ever. Their customer service is pathetic, if ever you can reach them by phone. Once you finally talk to an investment person they can't or don't answer questions, except to state "this is our policy. If you like paying fees you will absolutely love this company. They even charge a fee for speaking to what they call an "investment advisor". These investment advisors have about as much knowledge as 1st grader! They cannot respond to their own policies, especially various fees that they charge. Their only response when you question their fees is "that's our policy." They even charge a fee to close or make any change to your account. I am so sick of them deducting their nonsence fees that after 15 years I gave up on T.Roe Price. Any gains that you made in making your trades are totally wiped out by their fees. They even charge postage fees for sending out your monthly statements. Do not trust T. Rowe Price. For 2 and a half months I tried to close an account and have the money sent to me. The first check never showed and I asked for another. A month went by with them telling me it's in the mail and on the way. Call again and was told the new check was never sent. They send 2 more that went to my childhood home that I haven't lived at in 25 years. When I asked about it they said the old address was still in my file even though I updated my address years ago. When I finally did get my check, I get a letter about the follow ups that were made and was told my account would be red flagged if they felt there was any suspicious behavior. It is incomprehensible that anyone would be trusting their money with this company unless they absolutely have to, because of their employer's terrible decision to use them for their 401K. Their site is an abomination -- Once it aborted in the middle of an exchange. Fortunately, I did not lose any money but I am not even sure their software guarantees transaction integrity every time, since they are not even able to fix the most basic display issues. For instance, the balance history graph has not been displaying for close to 6 months now, and whenever I call, they tell me to try another browser (I am using both Chrome and Edge with all current updates), or to clear the caches (which I systematically do whenever I have to access this site). Maybe it is time for them to fire their technical team and hire actual software engineers, rather than picking them off the street? read more

They "accidentally" repeatedly discconect you, try to find a reason they can transfer you to someone else, avoid having to do anything more than they need to, sounds of children and dogs in the background, a huge lack of knowledge of how their systems work and switch you multiple times with every phone call. There has been a glitch in adding new bank accounts for months, but they are "working on resolving the issue". Not hours, but months. People need supervisors to be held accountable for their work. This firm is spiraling and I suggest you just DON'T! I am actively moving my accounts before they take my money down with their demise. This company's customer service is DEPLORIBLE! First, you call in to manage something with your account(s), and have to wait up to 30 minutes or more to talk with a live person~ and this was well BEFORE covid! Numerous account exec's have told me my account was adjusted to reflect changes I've wanted, they assure me the changes have been made and I get a confirmation email to that effect, but the very next time I call in, I'm told they have no record of those requests or changes! It's BEYOND infuriating (to say the least) that ya have to go through this process repeatedly, apparently due to gross negligence and incompetence. Wanna do something with your accounts online? Impossible! The least user-friendly site ever! The latest, is the site won't even recognize my password. I wanna transfer funds out of my 401K into my Ira, and can't DO it. Can't get anyone even remotely competent on the phone, either! Even when they SOUND like they know what they're doing, you find out later, they don't~ and the changes they reportedly "handled" for you didn't happen!!! TRowePrice also routinely loses paperwork you send them, like important account-amending changes you want to make. They even lost a bank check I sent! I'm gonna move my portfolio as quickly as possible, 'cause I can't keep living with this consistent level of frustration! The website of T Rowe Price is terrible. It looks like a little boy created it. If you want to know something it switch you to very similar icons. Once you open it it shows you overall changes, nothing else, like the website trying to hide the details. Switching between investments needs to be rediscovered again because it so much complicated. The customer service is better as I was able to find a person who agreed that their website was terrible. However, since that they keep going to terrify their customers. I used to be in Fidelity and I recommend every customer from T Rowe Price to switch to Fidelity or any other place. The only reason why I have to suffer is that my company 401K is with them. They claim to have mailed a loan check on June 20 via first class mail it has been a total of 19 days and yet no check. My previous company's 401k was with Troweprice. Their charges were very high and had a selection of investment choices, except the ones that I was interested in, for example, a low management cost SP 500 fund. Their market rate account only paid 2% at a time when short-term CDs were 5% APY. The final straw was when I left the company and rolled over the 401k account, Troweprice sent the $400k check via regular mail. When I called for a tracking number they replied that only checks greater than $1M had tracking or I could pay $30 to have the mail certified. Incredibly bad customer service. I have a T. Rowe Price SEP-IRA account issue that is still not resolved after at least 3+ weeks. I understand there are other account owners that are also affected with the same issue, so beware. When I logged in to my account to check the account balance on the evening of May 31, 2024 I was shocked to see my account balance was ZERO. I am sure you can imagine my first impression that my account was broken into and wiped out. Since T. Rowe Price does not have phone support over the weekends this made my weekend very worried. I called their phone support on June 3rd and was informed that a small percentage of accounts were affected with this issue and it was a result of a software platform change. The representative said it was expected to be rectified within 24 hours. It is still not corrected and no time frame for fixing will be provided. It is shocking to me that T. Rowe Price has not proactively informed affected customers of this issue before they find out for themselves and that they cannot fix the problem after 3+ weeks. Called to withdraw my investment funds. Mathew got me squared away with a simple straight forward approach using their website. My only issue was at the end of the call I was suggested to call this number 800-532-4000 to let them know I submitted a withdrawal and that this would speed up my request time. Upon calling the number a lady named Jessica answered the phone and before asking me anything proceeded to try to convince me to buy some life saving retirement device I should wear around my neck incase I fall (I'm 27 btw). I said "Perhaps I've dialed the wrong number" to which she responded "Thats ok this device is suitable for any one and we're running a promotion" Her tone reminded me of an automated system so naturally I assumed it was not a real person I asked if she was real and I was disconnected. I called T.RowePrice back and they told me the number was accurate and to skip past the automations (I did this to start with) She also told me the company was called NBS Judiciary. I did some google searching and was not able to find any website or company with that name or number. I also called the number back and was told calls from my area was not accepted? I called multiple times with the same automated response of "Calls from your area are not accepted" and was instantly disconnected. I then called one last time and got an answer telling me to press 9 for a menu. I pressed 9 and was transferred to a direct tv automated response. To me this is massively suspicious and very scammy. Why T.RowePrice employees are directing individuals to this very unprofessional and suspicious "company number" is beyond me, but it's a terrible look. These are the people supposedly in charge of approving my investment withdrawal request? Lastly I will add that according to T.RowePrice employee's calling this number is not necessary to receive your funds but it is highly suggested to receive your funds quicker... Overall this has been a pretty ridiculous experience and I would not recommend either company to anyone. Hopefully I'll receive my funds in a few business days as I was told by T.RowePrice. read more
