On May 17th, in the early afternoon I went into a T-Mobile store located at 348 Sunrise Highway, Valley Stream, NY, 11581, to switch my prepaid phone from Verizon back to T-Mobile-(originally a T-Mobile phone). I told the sell rep that I wanted the 5gb/$25 mo. plan. She told me we do not have such a plan and proceeded to show me what T-Mobile offered. $40; $50; and $60 plans. I chose the $40 as it was closes to what I needed, being that I couldn't get what I wanted.
As she was setting the phone up, I contacted the previous T-Mobile rep-(Texas Rep) whom I spoke with recently about the $25 plan and she sent me a screen shot of the plan. I showed the screen shot to the Valley Stream rep and told her this is what I want. She told me, "we do not have that!" She finished setting up my number and I left. I contact the Texas T-Mobile rep again to explain that the lady that was helping me said they didn't have that plan. The rep that showed me the $25 plan, FaceTime me and showed me where the plan was located. In the next tab over under T-Mobile connect or something.
I went back into the store spoke with the manager who went and got the rep who helped me, and she lied and said I didn't ask for that plan I ask for the $40 plan. Which I did, only after she led me to believe that T-Mobile didn't have what I asked for. Then she lied and said I showed her the screen shot of the plan I asked about, only after the phone was activated, which was another lie! She lied to me to trick me into getting a higher price service just so she could get a higher commission. Then they tell me I can't cancel and get my money back and that I'm stuck with the service. But only after pushing they said it will change to the $25 plan after one month. But she still made me pay for a higher price service and I can't get a refund, for the money I initially wanted to spend from the start.
Very deceptive, T-Mobile employees are. And I'm very upset. With my first experience with T-Mobile. I brought the phone from a T-Mobile customer, and because it was not acting right on my Verizon network, I decided to switch to T-Mobile. Now I'm feeling like that was a very dumb thing to do. And I would like for that rep to be terminated because I'm sure I am not the first person she has done that too. And the manager didn't help either, he basically defended her action and lying to a customer, and on a customer, about not requesting the plan I wanted in a sufficient amount of time. The goal was to give T-Mobile a shot at service to see if I would get the rest of my business cell phone from T Mobile.
After this experience I don't think I can trust T-Mobile on a larger scale. I am still very much upset as I feel like I got ripped off, and then told to beat it when I questioned it! Be very weary when dealing with these rep as they do get a commission for sells, so it in there best interest to say what they have to to get as much money out of you as possible. Not all T-Mobiles, but definitely the one mentioned in this post. Valley Stream, Sunrise highway. they get all thumbs down for being crooks! read more
