Sometimes the influencers influence and after being accosted on tik tok for a few days about the…read morenew beats headphones at the exact time my airpods were starting to get on the fritz I decided I needed to pop into my closest Apple store and check them out. It wasn't the busiest time to be in there but the place was still buzzing with folks shopping for new phones. I was pretty sure I'd end up buying a new pair of headphones so once I confirmed I liked them I picked out what I wanted and .... sort of wandered around. I say this because this was my biggest quip about shopping here. I found what I wanted and then it's like where do I go? How to I pay? What's the next step? I feel like there should be people around ready to help you make a purchase if that's why you are there, I sort of got the vibe that I needed an appointment to shop. Like, what? I get if you need tech support, but it was legitimately difficult to find someone to help me. Once I did find someone, she was amazing, and helpful, and I was out the door within maybe 15 minutes. Still, was a bit longer than I wanted to just pay and get my headphones. Overall I still think it's overall not a bad place to shop, and sometimes you need to go in and try out something before making a purchase, but I do wish they could re-think the entire experience, or IDK maybe even just make a person dedicated to checking folks out? I needs to be a bit easier if you aren't there for tech support.

I believe in getting credit when credit is due!…read more I believe it was Brandon who greeted us when we walked in and graciously helped us with our iPhone 14 questions. He offered us to make a Genius Bar appointment if we wanted to spend more time and one was available in less than 10min so we stayed. Justin worked with us during our Genius Bar appointment and we would highly recommend him to anyone who needs help and we would want him in the future. He checked our iPhones and explained their status and all options to continue using them and guidance if we wanted to pursue wanting new ones. There was no high pressure sales tactics. He presented the facts and we are now armed to make a decision in the best interest of our needs and finances. So nice to not be rushed, our questions answered patiently and obtaining the information we desired.

Denied AppleCare Service for Following Apple's Security Policy…read more Today, I went to the Overland Park PC Microcenter after making an Apple care appointment for an AppleCare+ covered device. Find my was disabled and the device was backed up. Micro Center refused to repair my iPhone under AppleCare because I would not disclose my personal passcode. They were preparing to write this on a post it note attached to the device. Apple's official policy clearly states: "Never give your Apple Account password, device passcode, or account security details to anyone else. Neither Apple nor Apple Authorized Service Providers will ask for this information." It's unacceptable that an Apple Authorized Service Provider would deny AppleCare service because a customer follows Apple's own privacy and security guidance. Customers should not have to compromise their personal security to receive AppleCare service. If you provide your passcode, that provides the technician access to banking, passwords, and other private information. For example, a person could potentially Zelle themselves money from your app. I declined to provide my personal iPhone passcode and the tech declined to service the device. Note that this information is not required by Authorized Service Providers to service the device. I later went to an Apple Store and they confirmed that this information was not needed.
