    Tech Works TV Mounting

Bottom line: Tech Works TV Mounting does not stand behind their "worry free guarantee" and "100%…read morecustomer satisfaction" per their website. Get a contract detailing liability for damages and take pictures of the state of your game consoles, soundbars, and TV prior to any work being done in your house. I do not recommend this company for TV mounting services. Tech Works TV Mounting does not operate in a professional manner. Full details below. I scheduled the appointment via phone a week prior to the install, and was quoted $560 for the mounting and cable management of a 77" LG C5 OLED TV. The appointment on 29 December 2025 was confirmed (requiring a "$50 deposit" which does not include the not-transparent charged credit card service fee), and the day of, Larry (the owner) reached out to confirm they would arrive at 1 PM. The owner and a worker arrived at 1:30 PM for the install. I had my TV, soundbar, and PS5 on a stand on top of an entertainment center in the general place I wanted the TV mounted, to give them an idea of where I would like it. Upon seeing the space for the mounting, they discussed that they did not bring the proper hardware for the job and had to depart to Lowe's to get more supplies. Half an hour later they returned with the required hardware. By that time, I had unplugged the TV, soundbar, and PS5 from all outlets and HDMI inputs, but they remained on the entertainment center along with the TV. They moved the TV to the floor (still held up by the stand) to begin measuring out and marking where to place the mount on the wall. After initial measurements and markings, the owner moved the $1,000 soundbar and precariously perched it on the arm of my couch--which I promptly moved to a flatter and more stable table. I then moved the PS5 off the entertainment center all the way to the corner of the room. I moved to the kitchen to work on my laptop as they continued work. Eventually I heard something get loudly knocked over. I asked what that was, and the owner said he knocked over the PS5, blaming his "size 13s". He apologized and said "I wouldn't blame you for seeing if it still works" or words to that effect. There was no superficial damage to the outside. The install continued otherwise without issue, and took about 45 minutes. After the install was completed I went to pay, and the owner--who I had booked the appointment with--asked how much I had been quoted when I made the appointment (how does he not have this written somewhere?). I told him $560 and that I had paid the $53.50 deposit. I paid the difference and asked for a receipt. The receipt I was emailed had no cost breakdown or even number on it, it was simply a screenshot of a GPS location where the transaction had occurred (attached to review). The owner then asked if there was anything else he could do and I said everything looked good. After they left, I noticed that the all of the dry wall dust from sawing out a square for the outlet box hardware was left on top of the mount, and palm prints were on the corners of the TV screen. I feel almost $600 is no small amount of money, and expected everything to be left in better condition--not requiring me to closely monitor and ask them to clean it all up for me. After playing my PS5, intermittent screen flickering was happening about every 20 minutes. A common issue when a PS5 has been knocked over is the HDMI input port being damaged or loosened internally. This is not something you can see from the outside. I took the PS5 to uBreakiFix in Wilmington (great company), and they confirmed that was the issue and swapped the HDMI port for $180. It works flawlessly now. I reached out to the Tech Works TV Mounting owner regarding the PS5 damage--which again, he verbally admitted to doing, to my face--saying it needed repair and would cost approximately $180. He asked which company I took it to and I sent him the link. Four days later when the repair was completed, I sent the receipt to him saying I would like him to cover the cost. The owner claimed to have filed an insurance claim through their insurance, who did not approve it because "I can't prove it was me that caused the issue to the PlayStation", and apologized for the inconvenience. He went on to say there is no way he can cover the cost of the PlayStation repair. Imagine if he had dropped my TV or soundbar, am I supposed to just eat the thousands of dollars they cost? How would I prove that he damaged them other than witnessing it? Would I get any sort of compensation for it? All this to say, I do not believe the "worry free guarantee" and "100% customer satisfaction" are legitimate. He admitted to me, man-to-man, that he knocked over my PS5 during the install and refuses to cover the repair cost. So now I am eating the $180 repair cost on top of the $560 TV install. I am not 100% satisfied with this transaction, and would never recommend this company. Spend your hard-earned money somewhere else.
