This is for the Metro by T-Mobile store located at 23768 West Rd, Brownstown Twp, MI 48183. Kevin…read morewas the sales associate. I needed a replacement phone. I stopped there after work to purchase one. Unfortunately, my other phone had developed a fatal problem, so I had no choice but to replace. At first, the associate was very helpful. However, he was not very forthcoming about some things. The phone had a $25 setup fee on top of the cost of the phone. That fee was displayed next to the price of the phone. I understood and accepted it as part of the transaction. I asked if he would be able to transfer my contacts and pictures. He said yes and stated that was part of the final price. What he didn't say, and I didn't understand, was that the setup fee wasn't the final price. He even admitted later that he wasn't clear about that. After he finished, he put everything in a bag and charged my credit card. Bad on me for being rushed and not thinking the charge all the way through until during the drive home. The receipt has zero details for what was purchased. I called and spoke with Kevin and asked him to explain the final charges. He said there was the cost of the phone, the $25 setup fee, a $30 fee for transferring the data, and another $30 fee for the charger I didn't ask for or agree to buy (he threw it in the bag without saying anything about it). He admitted that he should have explained the data fee. When I told him I didn't agree to purchase a charger, he said he was not allowed to sell a phone without a charger. I considered that nonsense and pointed out the deceptive pricing on the phone should have been $30 higher if the charger was a supposedly "mandatory" part of the transaction. In the end, I think I was taken advantage of in a less than honest way. I will not be purchasing anything from this location again, and will probably ditch Metro by T-Mobile at some point. Poor business practices should not be rewarded. Also, a couple of days later I received an automated survey text from Metro by T-Mobile. I gave honest answers. The AI bot asked if I wanted to be called by a representative. I said yes. I still have not received a call over a week later. Add poor customer consideration to the list. Also, the $15 screen protector he charged me for didn't last very long before it started chipping and cracking. I had to buy a replacement, which was of a known brand, half the price, and came with three protectors. For me, this store is in the "never again" category.
