Lucky for us, we found Hostetler's Garage! Dan was super nice taking care of us even though it was after 4:00 and his shop closed at 5:00. I needed a new alternator, and he told us the job would be about 4 hours. He had already promised a couple of his customers that he would work late and finish their cars, but he made sure he had my needed part that night so that he could get to work on my car 1st thing in the morning. His employee, Corey, was nice enough to load the 4 of us and our luggage into his truck and drive us to a local hotel for the night. When my car was finished early the next afternoon, Dan drove my car to the hotel for us while Corey followed him to take him back to the garage. We were all amazed at the way Dan and Corey went above and beyond to help us out! It was immensely appreciated! I would highly recommend Hostetler's Garage to anyone in that area. If I lived closer, I would definitely be switching to them as my mechanic. They are awesome!

[Experience with vehicle repair and car rental.]…read more My car broke down on the turnpike, and this was the ONLY place in Bedford that was A. open, B. worked on motors, and C. also rented cars. 3 hours from home, and 2 hours from my destination, I was stranded. the folks here were so kind and understanding of my situation. I was able to easily rent a car to get where I needed to go, and I would leave my car at the auto shop while they repaired it so that upon my return, I could return the rental and drive my car home. The rental process was easy, and, although I would have driven anything at that point, the rental was in great condition. The staff kept me in the loop with regards to the (bad) updates on my car throughout the duration of its stay, via phone calls and texts. When it became apparent that my car would NOT be fixed by the time my excursion was done, they worked out payment over the phone, and provided answers to all my questions. The car needed a new engine, a new radiator and a new coolant system. When it was time to me to pick my car up, the only available day was one where they were closed. They left my car for me in the lot, and I was able to get it with an extra pair of keys. I am NOT car-savvy, and I was in a really tough situation. These guys were professional but empathetic, and really held my hand through the whole thing. which, as a not-car-savvy person, was exactly what I needed. And if they weren't so far away, I'd absolutely go to them again.

They let kids work on my truck and i ended up having to replace the transmission gasket and the transmission lines they left rubbing against the harmonic balancer until they split and charged me for every one of their mistakes. They are shit. Clearly can't diagnose transmissions and are not honest about how they conduct themselves. They say they'll rebuild your transmission for less than $1300, but they don't tell you they're going to start there and work towards the cheaper solutions because they can't diagnose a transmission.
