This shop is fair priced and will not take advantage of you I recommend highly. Plus they are easy to talk to and personable.

Great mechanics & customer service. They are quick to diagnose and fix any problem in a reasonable time frame! Wouldn't go anywhere else.

I'll start by saying I am a brand new Long Island resident, and I'm in the middle of the (arduous)…read moreprocess of setting up my new network. Doctors, gym, manicurist, mechanic. The lot. It can feel like you're back in kindergarten sometimes, walking into new places with new people where you don't really know where to start - 'hello, I'm new here, can you help me?' It can be intimidating as a newcomer to a neighborhood when you're trying to set up all your new connections. You're not sure where to go, who to trust, or whether it will be worth spending your hard earned money somewhere. I am a first time car owner, and needed to set up a mechanic - starting with my NY State inspection. I'll make this very clear - I know nothing, absolutely nothing about cars or inspections and I had no idea what to expect. So, naturally, when I saw five star review after five star review for Ralph and his team, I knew this place had to at least be a good place to start. Ralph is just as affable, warm, and down to earth as his reviews describe. While I was waiting for my inspection to finish, a regular customer came in. He wasn't quite sure about something on his statement, and I overheard Ralph helping him break down his 'balance owed' with the patience and kindness that only a seasoned professional (or parent) could display. Howie went to fetch my car in the freezing cold - even though I'd parked it a little ways away because I couldn't figure out the street parking - and had me on my way in fifteen minutes. You're a champ, Howie, sorry about the walk! I always always try to buy local, and support local business owners. They are the fabric that make up our communities, and to be quite honest, it's just nicer to deal with someone who talks to you like a human, rather than just another customer in a multi million dollar corporation. These guys are a shining example of what it is to be a really great local business in a bustling community. I will be delighted to return to this shop. Thank you Ralph and team.

DO NOT USE THIS SHOP!!! 2-3 years ago, I took a car there with a simple issue. I was not…read moremechanically educated then and they not only told me I needed two of the same part, they also charged me $400 in parts and labor for each. For a total of $800. The part cost $20-30(Crankshaft position sensor) and was a 5 minute job when I did it today. 1 Bolt, two clips, right on the front of the engine, easily accessible. I will never recommend this place. They also told my sister that the brake dust on her rims was from rusted brakes and that they were a safety hazard. LIE. Rotors, calipers, and pads were replaced under a year ago and there is only superficial rust on some parts. These people may try to scam you. Find a new mechanic.

Visit Date: October 7, 2021…read more I dropped my car off here on Thursday before work. My dad swears by this place and I've had my car here twice before but am only reviewing now. This is the second time my car needed brakes in a few years but I also drive my car around so much. I didn't have the money to lay out for a car repair but my dad laid it out and I'll pay him back. What else would a dad do for his almost 40 year old daughter going through a divorce and temporarily living home again? The mechanics here are very honest. I believe they are a family operation. My dad owns 3 cars. Before anyone gets their panties in a knot they're 3 older cars and not classics. One is my mom's 2002 mini van he insists on keeping on the road as long as possible because my mom passed away and it's a vestige of her. One is a 1990something dodge aries because my dad refuses to drive any of the newer cars if he can help it and a third is an older pick up truck but not a classic one. So yea even though he's got 3 cars he's not rolling in it, only rolling it in enough to loan me money for a car repair. But he's here often with one of the 3 cars to get some work done on it. They had my car done during the day. I appreciate same day service although sometimes unfortunately it's not always possible. If you're around the oceanside area JC Automotive is the place to go to get your car fixed!

Great Great mechanic, been going for years!! I live in Forest Hills and still use them!!read more
