She had the Flemish stew which I enjoyed a mixed grill with pork, chicken, lamb, turkey and beef. Everything was well prepared and tasty. Her stew had a very rich flavor in the broth while my meat selections were all properly cooked: neither under nor over cooked. Service was attentive in the classic European style: relaxed, yet available when we needed them. We made a reservation, which was recommended, but there were empty tables so we may not have needed one. Still, certainty is a good thing. Prices were reasonable, and the location in the town square was most convenient. If you're looking for traditional Flemish food, this is the place.

I had the dark beer which is my favorite but they have a really good list. Ed tried the house 'red' beer that turned out to be very fruity, but with a hearty alcohol content. He ordered one thing, veal, but what came out seemed ab entirely different dish, chicken and pork. He enjoyed it so it was OK. He ordered potato croquettes with it and they were good. I thought I might get the ubiquitous fries (frites) but that didn't happen. They did give me a container of mayonnaise which one would assume is for fries, but when I inquired the waiter said it was for the mussels (?!) I guess I had to take his word for it. The portions were good and we left satisfied even with the glitches.

Flavors were OK, but the meat was just kind of dry and not very tender. After a while the sauce was a bit salty. The portion was good though. Overall OK, just the beef stew wasn't that great for me. It seems I should have ordered the mussels though, as so many other tables ordered it. Next time I will try that instead!

I was in a party of six celebrating a birthday, and we were seated in the back, near the bar. The hostess is a genuine delight; warm, funny, social and yet not pushy. Nome doesn't work with a menu card, instead they offer fresh plates based on chef's inspiration. We went for appetisers, mains and desserts. The apps and mains were presented beautifully, and there was plenty of choice (apps: bruscheta, shrimp croquettes, salmon tartare, mains: lamb, steak two ways, Iberico pig, fish or a veggie pasta). The house wines they serve alongside the dishes, are decent. Sauvignon, Chardonnay, mainly. The portion sizes are perfect. You don't overeat, but you'll definitely be full. Beautiful presentation, can't stress that enough. Bonus: every table gets free water (still and fizzy, both Chaudfontaine), free bread (with butter and oil), coffees come with digestive biscuits. When presented with the bill, we were also given shot glasses with an amaretto/orange juice mix. Delicious. If you are in Antwerp and fancy a great meal, please go to Nome.
