Went for lunch on a weekday and was surprised to see a few tables full. I ordered 5 different lunch specials all ranging between $8.99 and $9.99. They came with fried rice and an egg roll. Portions were definitely lunch size. Which is the proper amount to eat but less than I'm used to. I would say the preparations were just different. The boneless spareribs were completely different than I've ever had. Big slices of meat, like shown in the photo. Nothing was bad or great just different. Definitely worth a change up if you are getting sick of your normal spot. #catskill #chopstick #chinesefood #eggroll #greencountry #hveats #hvfoodies #eaterny #igfood #ulstereateriesunfiltered @above_weddings

This is one of 3 Chinese take/ dine in places in the town of Catskills. We wanted a sit down but this one had two tables while the other had one so this place WON out. Food was surprisingly good. I ordered beef with snow peas and a cup of wonton. Wonton though not the best was on par with other places sans veggies...However it had a childhood taste that I remembered from Washington Heights, that put a smile on my face. My dish was good and shockingly was good sized for $7...Yes, for $7 for that plate, I walked away happy. Everyone seemed to like their dishes and all of us finished them...Does this indicate the food is top tier? NO but for what it is - mostly take out, it gets kudos. I would order take out from here. Service was nice, like they cared that we enjoyed our dine in experience. I appreciated that. Ambiance is typical Chinese take out train wreck but this place at least put two tables and chairs. I liked that the owner again tried to make the dine in experience better so for that, the train wreck score was dashed away. In the end, we agreed this was a place that food could be ordered for take out. I would easily order from here again...I wished though that they had a proper dining area.

Second, because the hard working chef is once again quietly exerting his authority with small acts of independence. He brought out my lunch special himself but declined to give me a dinner plate (needed because the serving entirely covers the oval plate it was delivering on) and, once again, my pork with pickled cabbage had no pickled cabbage. Touche, Peter. The regular customer ordered items I would never consider, like walnut shrimp and egg foo young. But I'm sure it was still great, as was my no-pickles pork, as is everything Peter cooks. The guy is a gem. And he looks to be in good health after that mystery hiatus so I hope he'll be around awhile.

Instead of picking up takeout at the front door, customers can now make their way to the counter. I'm glad to see them reopen. I had a lunchtime craving for Cantonese style curry chicken. It was a favorite dish growing up and it brings back fond memories. Another favorite is Roast Pork Lomein. I also bought a shrimp stuffed eggplant appetizer. It was pretty good. There are also new lunch options. Instead of a free can of soda, I was offered soup. I chose Hot & Sour Soup. It was good. This is one of the few local Asian restaurants that offers brown rice which is a healthier option. I always make a point of calling ahead so the food order is ready by the time I get there.

The staff at Yummy Kitchen were so helpful and friendly. Once you order, you're given a buzzer to let you know when to come back and pick up your food. I chose to try the Chili Lime Chicken Sandwich and my fiance got their Banh Mi. Both were so flavorful and delicious! You could taste the freshness of the ingredients and their dedication to quality. We both loved them! There was plenty of seating inside and we can't wait to go back. Highly recommend!
