She was hitting everything, me and the plexi glass! This isn't the first negative experience I have had here. I usually always tip well, as I assume it is situational and the owner is a nice man but that's all. However, this situation was so bad I did not tip. Fun fact, they also have 5 inch bolt nails in the parking lot that completely puncture tires. I wouldn't come here.

You may want to consider bringing your own instruments to Jolie Nails, the salon in the Jed's…read moreHardware complex. I was there last week and observed a middle-aged male technician 'clean' the manicure tools he'd just used on a client with just soap and water. He took the tools he used on his client over to the sink, washed them as he washed his hands, dried both on the same paper towel, went in the back, got a bag that stated the items had been sanitized, put them in and closed it, and dropped them on the desk. A few minutes later, another technician sat down, opened the 'sanitized' package of instruments, and used them on the next client. Manicure instruments, like surgical instruments, need to be sanitized in an autoclave to kill pathogens such as HIV and hepatitis. The Department of Public Health, which licenses these establishments, sets clear guidelines that this particular technician ignored. I love the work these folks do, and I always come out of here with super cute nails and toes. What I don't want to come out with, though, is a preventable disease!

I specifically sought this place out because I wanted to book with one particular nail artist. I…read morewas getting a design that she had done previously so I knew I would be in good hands. The day before my appointment, I received a text to confirm my appointment with a different artist. Mind you, the girl I chose is literally the only reason I booked there. So I went on the website and changed it to the artist I originally booked, since she was still available. Then, TEN MINUTES before my appointment, I get a text saying a third artist is ready to see me. I ended up just going with it because obviously I wasn't going to get seen by the artist I wanted (who wasn't even busy until a walk-in (!) showed up like 40 minutes after me). My artist was a total sweetheart, but the quality wasn't up to the standard I booked. Not only did the design lack dimension, but the undersides of the nails were a mess. This happens to me time and time again - I've yet to find a nail salon who honors the booking I made instead of swapping me to someone else because "they can do it too". Like I get that your newer artists need work too, but when someone books nail art, and rebooks with the same artist when you try to swap them, wouldn't you assume they have their heart set on one person? Business owners, stop doing this! I'm better off booking on Instagram directly with someone at this point.

Honestly, this is the worst manicure I've ever had. I'm so disappointed. Don't waste your money going to this place. Trust in my review. if i had torn up $65 i would have been happier everything was going well until the end when it was time to pay. The day before, I went to schedule my appointment and asked how to pay, and they told me cash, card, Venmo. When I went to pay, I showed my American Express card and it was declined twice, but I didn't see it go through the machine. The lady said there was "no money", even though my card has unlimited by American Express . I'm sure she was canceling the transaction and didn't want to go through it because of the high fee on the card. She gave me the option to withdraw money from the machine at the location, which charges a ridiculous fee to withdraw. After long minutos I found my debit card and paid it . But it was a total embarrassment. If I had known, I would have gone to the bank to withdraw money to pay the nail and tips before going to the salon. Since I don't use VEMNO, unfortunately I couldn't give tips (and that's not my habit because I always give generous tips). I keep thinking if I hadn't had my debit card, the embarrassment would have been much worse, since my American Express card has unlimited money. I felt bad. I won't be going back.
