I've been a bank member here my entire adult life (10+ years), and consistently this bank, especially at this location, has felt unwelcoming and unhelpful. Not ever directly rude, but service with the kind of subversive passive-aggressive attitude that clearly indicates resent. Came to deposit a check here on 7/31/26 and was given the run-around for over 3 hours- unfairly deemed a "suspicious" with a constantly moving goalpost of how I could remedy the situation. First I'm not given a clean answer about who has the authority to clear a mandatory hold- getting conflicting statements from senior staff. Then comes the increasingly invasive questions- "Are you currently working?" "What have you been doing for money ?", "What are you going to use this for?", "How much of it do you need right now?". Seemingly unsatisfied with my answers, I'm flat out told that the check can't be deposited. I instead have to drive in-person to a completely different bank, get it cashed, and return with the bills to have them available for use in my account. Having to work through another bank just to bank here is completely unacceptable, and ridiculous. I hate to think this was racially motivated, but if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck..! TLDR; If you're reading this, save yourself the dignity, spare your sanity, and take your time, business, and money, elsewhere. No need to support places that don't support you.

I am beyond thrilled and impressed that I got a chance to meet with Tonia Hammond of this branch. She was incredible. I am a very new business owner and always thought because 1) I wasn't bringing in a ton of revenue (yet) 2) That I was very new and 3) (TBH) because I was young-- I would be overlooked or treated differently. That was not the case. Tonia supported me in a way that I didn't expect. She made phone calls on my behalf, was very responsive to e-mails, thoroughly explained everything, and overall has a kind spirit. I mean her office is literally full of motivation. Today I went to the bank around 10:45 a.m. to open a CD. The Baker tells me after sitting for 30-45…read moreminutes that I needed my Social Security Card. I went home to obtain my SS card along with my. passport and a bill with current address since what I provided appeared to be a problem . Upon my return, after waiting for more than another thirty minutes I was told that I would need further approval to open my CD. This was after the Banker called multiple Managers to obtain approval to open my CD. The Banker also called the Bank listed on my Cashier's check to verify that it was my check. Needless to say, I could not open my CD. I was told that I still needed further approval to open my CD. This Banker acted as if I stole the check and I was not the person on my ID. If I provided you with my SS Card, Driver License and passport, why was my CD not approved? Mind you I have a credit score above 800. I have excellent credit. Maybe it was the amount of the check? My color? The way I was dressed? Never was I ever treated this way to open a CD or bank account. I left the bank around 2:00 pm. Wasted my entire day. What the hell?

A week later we tried to deposit a check. Deposit mind you without any withdrawal. Huge hassle trying to put funds into bank. Normally a bank will put a hold on the check deposit until it clears from another bank. Not this bank, apparently they have to recognize the check. A state retirement check is not one they recognize. If it's this hard putting funds into the bank, I can only surmise how hard it could be to withdraw our funds in the future.
