With her sense of humor and warmth, she eased my anxiety within minutes. In such a vulnerable moment, that kind of humanity makes all the difference. The medical team was professional, organized, and confident. Even in a highly technical environment filled with equipment, everything felt coordinated and reassuring. I felt safe the entire time. My procedure turned out better than expected, and I went home feeling peaceful and deeply grateful at 10:30 am Thank you for not only doing your job, but for doing it with empathy and heart. This is how it is dealing with Scripps and healthcare in 2026. Beware of Scripps Health! This is an elaborate money-making scheme where they assure you that you will not be billed for things and then perform services that aren't needed for insane prices. They then threaten to send you to collections because the services they provided (that no one asked for and they recommended) were not actually covered by your insurance. We took our three healthy children to the doctor for an annual wellness check. They were not sick, had no complaints and did not have any specific reason to go to the doctor other than a simple annual wellness check. We were not at the clinic for more than an hour but somehow Scripps racked up a bill of over $4,000 -- just for a simple wellness check!? Insurance only covered a small amount and now they're threatening to take us to a collection agency over these unwanted and unrequested "services" because they said the physician they assigned to us was "not in network." How are we supposed to know one physician at your office would be covered by our insurance but the other one you assigned to us is not? Before going to Scripps, we called in advance to ask our insurance company if Scripps did a free wellness check. They said "yes." We then called Scripps to ask if the wellness check would be covered by our insurance and we wouldn't have any additional charges at the visit -- they said "no additional charges." Then at the counter my wife asked one more time if we would be charged for any of the services and they said "we can't know every insurance policy and what is covered. If it's not covered, you'll get a bill." They didn't even check to see if the physician they assigned us was within our network. Fast forward a few weeks later and we're asked to pay over $1,850 for three healthy kids without any issues? Buyer beware!

One thing I do not like is it took me 12 days to get my Neck X-Rays back, me while I waited in pain. I don't know what it is about Kaiser but good luck trying to get any pain meds, anti inflammatories OR anxiety meds out of this company. I have suffered with long term social anxiety for the last 12 years now. I asked my doc for some Xanax which I only take for emergencies and he gave me 3 pills of Aadvin instead and never would refill my script. To me, this is absolutely ridiculous, I am not some junkie, I'm a 50 year old man who suffers with this crap. I quit that doctor as I didn't like his bed side manner anyway and choose another doc. "Never got the anxiety meds I needed, but thank GOD for street pharmacists. Fast forward to a new doc. I went in for a severe neck pain, once again, 0 help from the docs for any pain medication. They have me taking OTC stuff that's not really helping. "Again, thank God for my street pharmacists". The thing that sucks is, I pay 1000's of dollars for insurance and still can't get the meds I need. I miss my old private doc practice, where I could tell my doc what works for me and he would prescribe it it he agreed, not this Red tape corporate BS where you pay premiums and get the crap you need. Personnel make every effort to be both punctual and pleasant. Recently I had a CT scan. Jessica , the lab professional who did the procedure, like many of her colleagues at this location, made the entire experience comfortable and easy. I actually enjoyed this experience . . Unusual layout of building was more than offset when several associates asked me how they could help, always pointing me in the right directions. On their own initiative. Dr. Braunstein gave steroid injection into painful toe joint, the pain of which has vanished 24 hours later. Great overview of what was going on and related issues. I saw none of the attitudes, etc. described in older reviews about the place generally and Orthopedics specifically. I experienced auto problems (see below) and was not scolded for being late or upsetting scheduling. Which the Torry Pines facility sometimes did. The problem is its entrance. A single lane in each direction. Not prominently enough identified by signage on the main roadways. Needs many more "H" blue signs with arrows strategically placed a distance away. And it feeds directly off a shopping center entrance which I had never seen before for a hospital. Needs a traffic light, if the shopping center entry further down the feeding road has a traffic light, then more so a hospital should. (Single entry/exit; what if there were a fire?) Entry via the parking structure was forbidden by staff only signage. If you have not been there before, even if you had been a long while ago as I once was, you are going to likely miss one or more turns. Spent 20 minutes being diverted into various roads including those that would all but force cars onto the freeway, trying to turn around to get to the single-entrance place. SUMMARY: Nice place, quality assistance and care, when you make it. Minus one star for learning curve for driving in!

Beware of True Care Pediatrics…read more I took my newborn here, trusting them since they provided my prenatal care. My baby had a slightly elevated but normal jaundice level, which they insisted on testing further. The blood test showed a minor increase, but instead of contacting me, they got my phone number wrong and didn't call the emergency contact. Instead, they called the police and a social worker, who showed up at my home that night. I rushed my baby to the hospital, terrified and confused, only to be told his jaundice level was within normal range and that newborns shouldn't be in the ER unless it's truly critical. This entire ordeal was unnecessary, traumatizing, and avoidable. While Dr. Park who we have seen is wonderful, and I would like to omit as part of this negative experience and review. I cannot recommend this clinic. Their extreme response and failure to communicate are inexcusable. Parents should never have to face this kind of situation. Know your rights and be cautious about entrusting your child's care to this practice.

The procedure took about 1/2 hour once he started to numb the toe til the pesky thorn came out, but, no more pain! I highly recommend Carlsbad Coastal and their friendly staff and skilled doctor.

They mention too that they'll keep the medications on the shelf for 10days to get picked up before taking it off shelf. So the tricky part here is when you do have to pick up the refills. Man, was the waiting area crazy small & packed. Of course, I had to get a ticket & wait. & wait. & wait. I seriously waited 50min just o pick up refills that were ready to pick up!!! I even quietly listened to our people complaining bout the wait even with refills ready to pick up or getting new medications. All the same. You got to WAIT! Ugh, it was like being on-base pharmacy in Camp Pendleton. So all I had to do was show copies of my parents military I.D. & done I got the refills. Wow. I'm see bout having the medications just delivered to my home next time.
