I waited 5 1/2 months for an appointment to establish care, two days before the appointment they called to say the doctor no longer takes True Care! I waited on hold for 1 1/2 hrs because they kept saying I had the appointment on texts! Finally the very illiterate woman on the phone (after multiple holds) & mis information verified the doctor no longer taking True Care, as of the 10th of May, my appointment was 12th.. Trucare is taking 25 DAYS, 25 DAYS, to process an in house doctor referral to the paying medical company. I spoke with trucare referral specialists and they said the insurance companies are slow. Dr requests ref, ref dept dilly dallies around for 25 days! LIARS! They played badmiton with my referral for 25 days and dumped it on the medical group between christmas and new years! I am in pain and agony! They earn between $50k and $80k a year and can't do their jobs, fire all the clockwatchers now! Dump them in the river! I am no longer a patient with this True Care Office location in Oceanside, CA. I stopped going to this place last year in 2023 because True Care doesn't have very good doctors who are knowledgeable about my medical condition. Some of their doctors are very unprofessional in their behavior towards me while I was going to this location. This one doctor he gave me the wrong information on my medical condition last year in 2023 and he diagnosed my condition incorrectly when he told me that I never have to take this medication again. I listened to his advice. When I listened to this doctor's recommendation last year in 2023, his wrong information that he gave to me , It had caused my medical condition a lot of harm. I learned from his incompetence that I had to be my own patient advocate in taking good care of my own health. I decided to stop going to this True Care Medical Office last year in 2023. I also learned that just because a doctor orders a Test for me or anyone, it doesn't mean that I have to take this Test that he has placed an order for me without my permission. I just do my own research on the Google Website and I diligently find out my own information. My advice is to only trust a doctor that you have know him for a long time from being his patient in your previous experiences. I am a patient at a new medical facility now and I am receiving Quality Medical Care . This medical office was a referral to me by my medical insurance provider. I've been with TrueCare as a patient for 7 years now. I've always had trouble with them when it comes to finding out what was causing my chronic pain and getting treatment for other health problems with it. I feel like the doctors and nurses there have only continued to discriminate me for my age and "how young" I am. I DON'T feel like I can trust any doctor, nurse or person they have working here. My thoughts and troubles as a patient are CONSTANTLY pushed aside and disregarded as they would rather push medications in my face, make a quick buck off of me, and then push me quickly out the door for the next cashgrab --- whoops, I mean "patient." I went in to get a referral for something immediately and they took 3 days to mess around before finally sending it off instead of doing it immediately the day I went in to see them about it. And not only that, it takes 2-3 MONTHS to see my primary care doctor or even schedule an appointment with her. As someone with chronic pain problems, this is not cool, nor convenient. I am so happy that both my husband and I were able to have prescriptions filled at the pharmacy at True Care for $15.00 each. To have these same medications filled at CVS our regular pharmacy would have cost $126 ($42/month). My phone calls to the pharmacy to verify the medication, cost & availability, I was treated with value and respect. Upon picking up the prescriptions, they could hear and see my excitement of the savings that I was obtaining, they shared their enthusiasm with me. I left with my prescriptions feeling on cloud nine The pharmacy does have limited medications but to have these 2 prescriptions filled at this lower cost saved us a bundle. I have read the reviews for True Care, formally North County Health Services, I am so surprised that there are low star reviews. I have been a patient for over seven years. I have yet to have an unpleasant experience. I have always been treated with kindness, respect, understanding, and as a person who is a patient by all staff whether in person, on the phone, or televisit. I have never been treated as a patient experiencing xxx symptoms nor have I ever been disrespected, treated unfairly, rudely, or dismissively. Unfortunately, I have seen people that are not very nice to the medical receptionists this may be due to the reason they are at True Care (they may be in pain and frustrated which is understandable. They may be  having a bad day, or they may not be a nice person I don't know), yet the medical receptionists always treat them with kindness, respect, and understanding. I really hope the people that have posted a low star review, revisit True Care. They may also want to revisit their review. I am in no way dismissing their experience or alluding that they are not being truthful. I just know there have been times I have been in pain, frustrated, and at my wits end. That is why I never write a low star review immediately after an experience for any place. What I do is write a review in a document noting the time, person(s) I had experience with and what happened then I save the document, I then set a reminder on my calendar for 2 to 3 days later and read what I put in the document. If I am sure what I wrote was not due to my pain or emotional state at the time I wrote the review I will post the low star review. If not I will reconsider and reword the review accordingly. read more

Denied me my COVID-19 shot even though they had the vaccine. They told my my "source" had run out. So they had the vaccine but because I am a senior on Medicare I didn't qualify for the COVID-19 shot. In other words they chose to leave this essential worker unprotected on purpose over billing issues. Untruecare a better name? Or how about WeJustDontCare as an apt company name. Considering a medical malpractice/malfeasance lawsuit and may reach out to local press. And worst of all, I CALLED FIRST TO VERIFY MY COVID SHOT AND THEY SAID I WAS ALL SET. I've been a patient at Trucare for over 5 years and I have nothing but good things to say about the staff and doctors. I'm an older woman with very unique medical issues, and have always been treated politely, professionall, and listened to. My doctor is Kelsey Carrio, I couldn't ask for a better doctor! Her bedside manner should be duplicated and she is throrough. She has been instrumental in referring me to highly competent experts and I have received excellent care. I also found it easy to get appointments and be placed on the cancellation list. I highly recommend Truecare as an excellent medical practice. read more

Wait forever on music hold, then leave a message. They sent me a text to call them. Nice buildings & locations - real medical help is a run around system. They are all getting paid very well- what about the patient? Waiting 1 year for cyst issue, Dr. Santos can only do so much, (5)plus Doctor, she is over qualified to be at True Care. Now that San Diego County has dumped all Medicare Advantage patients, I was forced to leave Scripps, and TrueCare was the closest clinic on my new provider's list. I tried to schedule an initial appointment with a GP (after waiting half an hour on hold) and learned that this bastion of competency can only schedule 45 days in advance - and they didn't have any openings. I was expecting to not be able to get an appointment for two or three months, but they can't even schedule that far ahead. They suggested I call back the next day. I did. Same thing. Apparently, they expect new patients to do this every single day until someone cancels at either of their Oceanside locations. I offered to go to the clinic in person, but was told it's the same situation. I asked if I could do it online - yeah, you guessed it. I'm going to have to try to find a different clinic. I now see why it has a poor rating on Yelp I am a 63-year-old & suffered a mini stroke in 2021 #4 months after turning 60 years old & spend #3 days at Tri-City medical center receiving care, so I called my insurance provider & they recommend the closest place to me in Oceanside would be true care at 605 crouch Street, when I entered this facility they hooked me up with a male nurse practitioner I told them I want an MD when I came back I was given an MD she mysteriously disappeared from my chart to make an appointment to see her when they finally made an appointment it was 2 months out and I was out of my blood pressure medication I couldn't make the appointment because of a family emergency and rescheduled but I told them I'm out of medication for 2 months now I'm stage two there is no stage 3 it would be a stroke and because of my age it could be major so in order to renew my blood pressure medication I literally had to go to the emergency room at Tri-City and they renewed my blood pressure medication for #30 days I went to the pharmacy & got it filled* my blood pressure is now normal, fast forward to yesterday 10-10-2024 1:00pm at true Care once again they pass me off to a DO which is not an MD I refuse to see someone that is not an MD That's my preference as a patient it's the old saying you get what you pay for and because I have the low income insurance you're not going to get the best of treatment and this place is evidence of that so now in 48 hours I'm back with no blood pressure medication so here I go back up the stage 2 & back to an emergency room just to renew my medication That's a sad day in the United States of America that I have to go through this unreal every time I go there they make me fill out four forms of the exact same information Total B/S I can see filling out forms if something changed I told them nothing has changed I don't trust them with my personal information I feel it'll be sold on the dark web or on the streets of Tijuana Mexico now I got a monitor my credit report out of fear so this place doesn't even deserve one star when they cannot even give you an MD which you can renew medication over the phone or email and I go to the pharmacy and pick it up this shouldn't be a major hassle well at true care it is* read more

The referrals department is terrible. I have called 5 separate times all during business hours and each time I'm on a hold que for 20-35 then it hangs up. This has happened every time I called which is now 5 today and 4 yesterday. I don't think they have anyone working that department or something. But if you have to see anyone other than your primary good luck because you will not be able to contact anyone ever. I wish I had a better health care provider maybe one that answers and cares about their patients. read more

True Care 605 Crouch St Oceanside. Ladies (acting like high school chisme comadres) flippant with my concerns and illness. 1. I was sure the appt I set earlier was at 2:30pm. I arrived at 2:23 thinking I was early. 2. I was scolded for being late. I tried to explain but continued to be interrupted, that I had been told 2:30pm. 3. I had to wait to see if the provider would give me a pass on being seven minutes late. 4. In the meantime I called the true care phone number that I had called earlier And was told that there was a 10 minute grace period. 5. I was also told by the girls at the front desk that my insurance wasn't covered I had and IEHP Medi-cal card. I said I know that IEHP the way I have it set up it's not covered but that I had called and gotten an appointment and I was had to switch care providers after the appointment. They seem to not know what I was talking about. that was one of the reasons that I called the true care main company line. 6. And she says are you kidding me you called to complain about us. And I responded, "no I was calling to verify the appointment time". But I'm going to add that The service here is not very UNprofessional and inconsistent with what I was told from the corporate office. ***At one point the heavier lady covered her mouth so that only the lady next to her could see what she was saying and said something about me and then tilted back in their chairs laughing and then rolled her eyes at me. 7. By the time I got an approval because I was so naughty for being seven minutes late I had had enough of their flippant childish behavior and decided to go somewhere else. Going through this while I had an ear ache so painful I could hardly make steps because each time I walk it hurts. It hurts to talk it hurts to chew it hurts to swallow. And I'm having to deal with their insecurities. I made a yelp account just bc this experience was so unnecessary and obnoxious. I don't usually complain. I just go in and get my business done. They are not his health care provider. They seem to be insinuating they are his health care provider. He has mental health issues. This organization is not helping my son. This place used to be called NCHS North County Health Services. I have never received such life-threatening care since I started here. Three days ago I needed meds approved for refill by my new doctor, their call center refused to let me speak to a nurse yesterday. Vons ended my auto-refil on 4 of my blood pressure meds so I was out of my Losartan 3 days ago. The doctor at True Care and their call center are beyond any type of good reccomendation. Supposedly the case was escalated yesterday but as I call this morning setp 10 2021 the rep says no escalation is in the notes!!!!! My bp is off the charts and I have a stroke history from 7 years ago. They refused to let me speak to the nurse re this sept 10 yesterday. This is a joke of a medical establishment. I'll be calling 911 soon if my bp gets any higher. Don't use these lame Medi-Cal clinics. We are all screwed with Medi-Cal. My due date was Saturday. I've been having contractions & dialating since then. Sunday I slept overnight at the hospital & nothing... My lower back, abdominal & entire torso is sore. I kept telling everyone including the doctor that I would have to be induced. Thank God my doctor put the order in on Monday for tonight! I'm almost pushing 42 weeks & my honey is practically out of leave days for work. I'm glad my doctor is of the same upbringing as I am. It brought me a little bit more comfort. I am already scared and distrustful of doctors especially due to cultural differences. I've had to be in pain on & off since Saturday. I've had vomiting, constipation, etc and at times whatever I would eat my body wouldn't keep it in. Woke up just now sore again. At this point I'm sleeping through my contractions. I havent had a bowel movement in days which is really abnormal for me at this point. The doctor has given me Colace and ive had to use Magnesium citrate to help ease me which took two days on my body. This has truly been a nightmare for me. My prenatal care was a sh*t show since California. Took them 6 months to approve my medical coverage versus the state im in now. Where I live now approved me in an instant! I didn't know that a state could deny a pregnant woman medical care. While in California I was told by a midwife Katherine Kelly that i had Preclampsia & my doctors here told me that i dont have it. Kelly put on my medical records that I have anxiety and not Preclampsia so she wrote the wrong thing down. When it was her who specifically tried telling me i had it in the first place. I switched up my diet to more salads & I havent had as much hypertension since November. When i was in California i had constant high blood pressure and they put me on chewable aspirins to help ease it. They gave me Mckenna shots in California so the baby wouldnt come out early cause she was trying to come out since the winter time. Then I let the midwives know I have a history of being anemic which they told me i was not anemic even though its on my medical records. I've had a history of it since giving birth to my son. It even popped up in 2019 on record. My current doctor here finally confirmed my anemia & put me on a red meat diet. He also prescribed me iron pills. Thank God! I've been going back & fourth from the hospital to the house and I feel like no one has listened to me. And I won't get the birth that I wanted. I just want this to be over so I can get back to my regular life. Being pregnant and dealing with doctors today just isn't worth the hassle. And I honestly don't know why they bother asking me my medical history if they're going to try and argue with me about it. Had it not been for my current doctor recognizing my needs my baby probably would've not made it. In a month and a half my baby went from 3 lbs to almost 7lbs thanks to my doctor telling me the right things to do. Tonight is finally induction night and im praying for a steady but quick labor. read more

Just had my first appointment here and I couldn't be more disappointed. I was nervous about my doctor not being willing to listen to my concerns and Dr. Safi was exactly what I was afraid of. It took a very long time to be able to even make an appointment only for it to be scheduled a month later the EARLIEST. I waited all that time, in pain, only for Dr. Safi to see me for 2 minutes and end up not doing anything after I expressed only ONE of my many health concerns during my physical exam. She left the room telling me to make a second appointment to hear about my "other problems" and continued to exit as I was telling her I have more concerns to discuss to which she just told me to make a second appointment. I left with no referral, prescription, or even some verbal advice. I basically went just to get the flu shot that I ended up getting while I was there. The medical assistant was more productive in my appointment and took her job more seriously than the doctor. I had to make another appointment for another month later but I am definitely switching clinics as my condition is getting worse and I need help from a more competent clinic. I would say the only good thing about this clinic are the nurses and medical assistants. They were very kind and welcoming. But other than that, this place isn't worth the time or trouble. read more
