Yikes! Some extreme lifestyle changes were needed, especially since I'm a dad juggling with a career. As a Yelper, I also need better health to enjoy good food , travel and enjoy life more! We signed up with Gil for 30, 1-hr private workouts. The results have so far been amazing - after 4 months, I lost about 20 pounds and feel better. Clothes feel looser and recent bloodwork showed great reduction in blood sugar. We recently re-signed for another 30 sessions based on excellent results to date. Here's why I recommend Underground Fitness if you are serious about weight loss: 1. Gil helps design a meal plan based on your target weight. Nothing too drastic - he reviews your daily meal and makes suggested changes and additions. In some cases you're adding food (hello egg whites and cottage cheese). 2. You get daily protein, carb, and fat targets that are easy to measure by uploading photos to any free AI agent - see Yelpers are naturally good at this! 3. Love the flexibility - weekly 1-hr sessions work best for me since I have access to my Corporate gym. Gil designs workouts each week via App that will guide you whether you work at home, travel, or have access to another gym. 4. The actual 1-hr workouts with Gil are brutal but you'll feel great afterwards. A mix of barbells, dumbbells, bands, cardio rowing/bikes, medicine balls, TRX, and pushing or pulling really heavy sleds. 5. With private training, you get a great coach and mentor in Gil, and can leverage his expertise to achieve your health goals. The cost is more expensive than a gym membership but if you want results, I believe the investment is well worth it.

I've gotten good treatments here. The problem is the front desk staff's lack of knowledge and…read moreconsistency. Every time I deal with them, I have to anticipate problems or advocate for myself. I bought a package and planned out what I treatments I would get over the course of six months, and the front desk lost the plan...twice. Prescriptions were sent to the wrong address. I once emailed with a question about extending my plan and never heard back, only to be told *I* made the mistake not knowing that the person I emailed had left the company. (I was also told that there was no way for them to know that I had emailed and there's no system for forwarding emails sent to employees who have left, which is utter B.S.) Other times I've called and tried to get help on something basic, only to get a "we won't do that " from the front desk -- I had to go to management for something that should have been an immediate "sure," especially for someone who had shelled out thousands of dollars for a "membership." Front desk staff has also shamed me for not doing all of my treatments 1x/mo (my life was total chaos -- major move, death in the family, job upheaval) and basically said I'd compromised all of my treatments by not doing them once a month. (It seems to have gotten better, but for awhile, the attitude from the front desk was really, really bad. Distinctly unhelpful and borderline snarky.) Then there was the time I went for one treatment and only realized after they'd pulled the machine up that they'd pulled the wrong machine -- they hadn't looked at my treatment plan. Then once I had a really painful treatment, only to be told AFTER the fact that I should have been given the stronger numbing cream, not the weak numbing cream. (Why have two? Why not just give everyone the strong one?) And once when I got botox, I specifically asked that the injector do it the way the previous injector there had done it (I didn't want too much botox), but there were no records or notes on what had been done before, and the new injector shot me up with far more botox than I needed or wanted. So, fine for the treatments themselves, but the place is far from a well-oiled machine in terms of management. You have to be super on top of them and expect them to fail. You have to ask them to keep records and look up records. You have to ask them explicitly to tell you how to prepare for treatments -- they'll just space on telling you. I get the sense that even the women doing the treatments know that the front desk/admin is hopeless.

I miss Dr. Dolores Musco. She is an outstanding doctor. It's too bad she left the practice to pursue on the concierge level.

They were warm, professional, and truly cared for their patients, and the staff felt like part of a small, caring family practice. Unfortunately, as the practice grew, the staff became less friendly and harder to work with. Things declined rapidly once the Muscos left to form their concierge practice (which costs thousands of dollars per year, per patient). Since then, patient care has suffered greatly. Between my wife and I, we've tried several different providers here, and the experience has been consistently disappointing. The new doctors don't listen, and video appointments have been low-quality and unhelpful. The level of care, attentiveness, and professionalism that once defined this practice is simply gone. I finally switched to a physician at Sutter Health, and the difference has been night and day. My new doctor was thorough, actually listened, and helped me get the treatment I needed. You see Dr Temkin one time for 15 minutes he recommended 800 calories a day and Ozempic. Since I exercise a lot I was told I could have a little more maybe 1000 calories a day. First night after Ozempic shot I was very dizzy called the office and didn't even get a call back. I persevered for a month had bad digestive issues and only lost a pound a week 1/2 of which was muscle. Last appointment they recommended against giving me the Ozempic but offered no refund of the $75 I paid for it. They said the program wasn't working for me and suggested I try a personal trainer instead?? So now I am out $600 and only lost 3.5 pounds in a month. Plus I am left with digestive issues. Horrible experience.
