Jennifer Brookstone has been seeing Dr. Mark for something like ten years now. She was injured in a…read morefall, in 1993, and developed CRPS - Complex Regional Pain Syndrome in her right leg. It's an extremely painful nerve pain syndrome. For years, she was on pain drugs, but the pain kept getting worse and worse. By around 2006, she was taking about 70mg a day of Methadone, and it still wasn't keeping the pain under control. She was literally at the point where she felt like she couldn't take it anymore, and didn't know what to do. I suggested, that as a last resort, maybe she could try Acupuncture. We found an Acupuncturist named Marcus Rhoden, who later partnered with Mark VanOtterloo in the same office. After working on her for some time, Marcus started getting the pain better. In fact he was able to eventually get Jennifer off of the Methadone and manage the pain very well. Marcus eventually moved out of the state, and left Jennifer in the care of Mark. He has continued, to this day, to keep the pain managed and she no longer takes drugs for it. Jennifer sees him twice a week and we think he's simply the best. In fact, he's so great that he teaches Acupuncture, and has been lecturing around the country on his expertise. So if you've been thinking of getting the help of a top notch Acupuncturist, we highly recommend Dr. Mark VanOtterloo.

As a last resort, I decided to try acupuncture and through a personal recommendation, I became a patient of Dr. Mark Van Otterloo in Wheat Ridge, Colorado in October. Gradually through his excellent care, the frequency decreased dramatically, and I am living a much more pain-free life. He is a very gentle practitioner, explains everything in full, and answered all of my questions. I would highly recommend Dr. Mark for any of your needs. I truly feel Blessed to have found him.

Warning: the complex is pretty sketched ... but if you can get over it you'll be fine. I got the reflexology 50? Or 60 min I forgot for $50 because I was pregnant! First I put my foot in the warm tub and the masseuse worked on my scalped and arms and concentrated her time on my feet and legs. It was great!! Especially my feet. I used to go to Mins foot massage on federal and this place is a bit more expensive (by $10 I think) but the quality is much better! You don't feel rushed and they don't use that weird oil. My husband got the combo (body and foot) for 60 min $60 and he really enjoyed it as well. He fell asleep! The only negative thing is that it's a hole in the wall kind of place so don't expect aromatherapy or complete silence. You can still hear the street noise and since I did it with my husband in the same room the masseuses were talking to each other in Chinese so it was a bit distracting. You can't ask for specifics on areas because they speak limited English. But you can't beat the price for the quality that you get from a general massage or foot massage! We would go back!

I walked in was able to be seen shortly. I got the $80= 90 minutes combo massage (45 mins foot massage and 45 minutes body). Sandy/Cindy (I didn't hear her name well) brought me into a room which had both the foot massage bed and the normal traditional massage bed. I was told to undress and sit in the foot massage chair. (This is a private room). I had a towel on top of me when she was doing the foot massage, was different for me because foot massages your clothes are on. I actually preferred it because she was able to massage my thighs well. The foot massage included a head massage and wow. Cindy did her thing. I'm a sucker for head massages and the face massage was great too. After she was done with the foot massage she moved to the table. All in all, the massage was amazing. I get massages regularly and usually go to Asian massage parlors. You never know if it's going to be a good therapist or bad one. If I lived closer, gosh, I would be here all the time lol. Idk how the other therapists work but Cindy did a wonderful job. Tru reflexology. A lot of places say it's reflexology but they're not. This place though, the massages were using reflexology techniques 100%.

I've suffered several bouts of plantar fasciitis over the years and had resigned myself to the standard medical advice that nothing can be done short of stretching and resting but acupuncture at Bee Well gave immediate relief and I believe the treatments and the foot soak were huge aids in a faster than typical recovery time in the long run as well as immediate relief in the short term.. I recommend c-section acupuncture to everyone that will listen to me, the treatment reduced the pulling sensation of the scar tissue, helped me regain feeling in the numbed areas of my abdomen, and had a harmonizing effect on the whole region making it feel like it was again part of my body rather than a trauma attached to my body. Bee Well also prescribed by husband an herbal remedy during my pregnancy to help with his anxiety. He'd previously received a prescription for anti-depressants from his primary care physician. Anti depressants work by stimulating the serotin release in your brain, although they are effective and appropriate for some people this wasn't true for my husband. The herbs Bee Well prescribed were a nice addition to my husbands morning tea and worked to gradually reduce his anxiety over several weeks rather than shocking his system. I cannot express my relief and gratitude at finding an herbal remedy that aided my husband's anxiety during a time in my life where I needed him to bring his A game to our domestic lives.

27AUG2014 After 16…read moresessions here is my assessment. 1. Acupuncture does no harm. 2. I think it might be useful for muscle or nerve pain/problems. 3. If you think it will help then try it. It is affordable. 4. In my opinion, useless for relieving chemotherapy symptoms. Chemo drugs are nasty as they are trying to [almost, but not quite] kill you. Friday (09MAY2014). Acupuncture session at 1500. Saturday. Crappy mouth is reduced and I have a lot less fatigue. Was it: a. Acupuncture? b. Poisons excreted from my body? c. Both? d. Neither? I don't know. 02MAY2014 Very pleasant people. Took a lot a notes prior to my acupuncture. I feel very comfortable with them. Will see how it goes. Chemotherapy is nasty. I get loaded up with: Oxaliplatin, 5-fluoroucil, zofran, decadron, leucovorin every 2 weeks. The side effects are very unpleasant. I am hoping that acupuncture can alleviate some of the symptoms. Chemo mouth (aka crappy mouth). Food tastes bland. Carbohydrates taste like cardboard. Fatigue. 1-3 naps a day. Low platelet and white blood cell counts. The poison kills everything.
