He (unintentionally) left stain on our brand new basement carpet; said he had cleaner at home and would come back to clean. He did not. This work was through Handyman Connection. Handyman Connection did not help at all. They said they were doing us a favor having another electrician come out at cost of $200 to make connections, when we had already told them it had to be James Tinker finish the work, because he told us he had take out a permit; which is what we wanted. The Long Version: When my husband and I bought our house, it came with a gas range. Having grown up with electric, I was really hesitant to keep it and wanted to switch to electric, but I eventually got used to it and we kept it. Not too long ago, the oven bit the dust and stopped working. The elements still worked but I need my oven! So at this point we decided to switch to electric. We needed someone to cap the gas line and install a 240V outlet for the new range. Francis Home Environment was great because they offered both services. We had 2 different technicians of course, but they were both from the same company who coordinated their work. My husband dealt with the technicians and I got to benefit from the results, lol. Terry came in the morning to cap the gas line. He was great. He checked the line in the basement too. Then David came in the afternoon to do the electrical work. He pointed out that the previous owners did not do some electrical work properly and we had live wires just taped up behind our range. We could have gotten electrocuted all these years! Omg! David fixed things up and now we have a new 240V outlet and no live wires just hanging out with their ends taped. Both technicians were courteous, professional and efficient. I liked that they came during their scheduled time window and my husband got a text when they were on their way and he could track their location on his phone. They wore shoe covers in the house as not to dirty the floors. Their price was on the higher end, but we were happy with the whole process from start to finish. The replacement fan was a Hunter Douglas and it had a light kit with it which the original fan did not. I followed the instructions that came with this fan. After my work, there were some wires left unused, and that really worried me a lot. I had followed the instructions very carefully, but those "left over wires" made me very uncomfortable. I had been given excellent service by Capital before and they were excellent there as well. So, I gave them another call and explained to them my concerns. They said no problem and asked for my address and said that they would be there sometime in the early afternoon and that is what they did. The young man that they sent was extremely polite, clean and was very thorough in examining my work. He found extra wires and capped them, but everything else that I had already done was ok.
