Very nice, well kept campground. Nice, clean restrooms and showers. Plenty of shade trees. Lots of cottonwood trees

We stayed in site #048 both times and was a great choice. Our site was a long pull-through with full hookups and had plenty of room for our 30ft class C and toad. Because we were only staying for one night, we didn't disconnect the toad. Our site was fairly level and nicely appointed with a large patio, furniture and lawn decorations. There is lots of grass and everything is nicely maintained. The entire campground is nice and clean and the upkeep from the owners shows. Lots of little Wizard of Oz themed signs and statues are around and it makes it a fun place to walk around. Our site was on "Tornado Alley" street! (A bit more on that later!) There is a huge Adirondack chair up front for fun pictures! Lots of mature shade trees helped with the heat and although we didn't use it, the pool looked inviting. The Kamp K9 is great here! Nice and big and covered in lush grass really helped our two labs burn off some energy from the road. The store is well stocked and we ordered pizza one night and they delivered it right to our site! We would not hesitate to stay here again and look forward to it! We camped at Salina KOA Holiday in a Motorhome. FYI Summertime thunderstorms in Kansas are no joke. Had a big boomer come through late at night our first night. A bit scary. On our return stay, we got caught in a tornadic supercell between Lawrence and Topeka! Seriously scary! The campground does provide cool text alerts!

Upon arrival we we told they didn't have one of our spots booked and made us pay. We did and just figured we would call the day day or on the way back south to get it straight. After three emails and four calls the lady actually acted like I did something wrong. Even said "well after all this time I can give a full refund! Really! I argued and she gave me the full refund but then charged me a 4% cancellation fee!

This trailhead has two entrance points, and one is usually more manicured than the other. We didn't know there was a difference at the time and took the path less traveled and less tended to. Which was unfortunate for us because we were walking through tall grasses and brush, which was uncomfortable because some of the people I was hiking with were wearing shorts. So, if you want a more pleasant hike, make sure you're taking the hiking trail that has been mowed. Other than slapping away plants and hoping we weren't transporting ticks, the hike was great and the scenery here is beautiful. Our trail was a little less than a mile one way, and led us to a really cool cave with rocks that looked like the profile of a person! We checked out the cave for a while, then headed back. Once you're at the cave, you do have an option to travel down another trail to go farther into the park, but we chose to just head back. There's a lake here and other things, but we only visited the park to hike. We had a great time hiking, though! This part of Kansas is beautiful, and walking through Kanopolis is a great way to experience some of it.

We really enjoy staying at this RV campground. The campground is located in a very quiet residential area. All sites are spacious and face the river. Be aware this is a first-come, first-served campground so no reservations are accepted. (1) Dust, some parks are so dusty that even after just a couple nights your unit needs a bath, this place has no dust. (3) Level pads, big coaches need paved or thick gravel pads that are level. We give this park a 3-star rating for having level gravel sites. This park had the most generous sites we'd ever encountered! The amount of space between sites was absolutely amazing. No crowded sites here! (3) We live in the age of WIFI technology and there is nothing to stop any RV Park across this country from investing in doing WIFI properly. This RV Park does offer WIFI, however we did not realize that until we were ready to leave. (4) Maneuverability, some parks have very narrow roads which make backing up and turning very difficult, we found this park to have plenty of room to maneuver. (5) Satellite, satellite reception can be hard to receive whenever there's large trees. If you stay away from the sites with the tall trees to the south you should receive reception here. (6) Phone Service, we have AT&T which worked great here. (7) Dog play and potty, plenty of room to walk your dog here, but no off-leash fenced dog area.

There is a big grass area and nice park for the kids along with old train cars. The rates are exceptionally reasonable. Peak season is $25.00. However it is first come first serve. There are onsite bathrooms with showers. They are decent if you need them. If in area highly recommend. We stopped here on our way through Kansas.
