Seeing how we are from Pa, we elected to drive out to the Ranch it was worth every second/minute of the 17.5 hours it took us to get there. There are no words to explain how well this place is ran. As soon as we pulled up we were greeted at the door by the owners Keith and Debra, what wonderful people they are. After getting checked in Keith mentioned we could head down to the skeet range to shoot some clays, he said just let me know when you fellas are ready and I will take you down. The hospitality that was shown to us from the time we got there until the time we left, I am not sure you could find anywhere else. The food that they put out of their kitchen, let me tell ya partner it's just like gramma made it, and the ladies working the kitchen you could not find much nicer ladies. From the steak, taters, pork chops, pies, soup, and those cinnamon rolls you can not buy that taste out in the public restaurants. Those ladies definitely know what they are doing and know how to cook. JOB WELL DONE LADIES. As for the guides and dogs they have, they are top notch. The guide we had knew how and where to block every piece we pushed. We could not have asked for better dogs, they knew what they were doing and would go on point and waited for the next command. As for that puppy "Coe" he is gonna be an awesome dog and retriever. Coe was only 6 months old and boy you sure couldn't tell it, he was well advanced beyond his age. The lodging they provide and maintain there is very well kept and maintained. Rooms are nicer than some other places that I have stayed at. Oh and while your there be sure to check out their store/gift shop. They have some very nice articles of clothing and if you forgot anything that you needed to hunt they will be sure to have it and get you in the field in no time. I enjoyed my stay because it was really close to where I needed to be, the prices were great, and the accommodations were amazing in the place. I nice spacious shower and the beds were very comfortable. The living room was comfy and having access to TV and some streaming services helped with the wait on the repairs. Also, WiFi was accessible so that was great too! I think this place is awesome for some hunters or anyone truly looking for a getaway.

Our group usually consists of 2-6 guys. Some of our wives flew out to join us, one year. Motel has always been clean, very accommodating and reasonable. Current owners, Lisa and Jared have done some updates and re-arranged the room configuration in at least one room. They have been nothing less than outstanding during our time there. Biggest draw back was the closure of the Post Rock Café which made things so convenient. There are limited eating establishments in Lincoln. Always look forward to a return visit.

All I can say is damn I was really surprised at how much better rest stops are nowadays from what I remember as a kid! This one is climate controlled, clean, recently renovated, and felt safe. I mean we were there in the middle of the day, and I'm not sure I'd stop at any rest stop in the middle of the night, but this one was a good one. While I'm still more likely to stop at a gas station most times, if I need a stop and am near this one I wouldn't hesitate to stop here again.

I went a bit hog wild getting souvenirs for friends and family. Walking in, the person at the register was super friendly and informative. The people working were a bit older so they provided a bit of comic relief for us. The person who initially greeted us started the spiel again when we walked by her but then stopped and realized she'd hit us already and couldn't stop laughing about it. The person who checked us out made it feel like an SNL skit in the way she was checking us out that the other one had to commandeer the register. I mean I wasn't looking for this comedy act but I sure enjoyed it. But on a more serious note, there is a lot of stuff in this store. Pretty much something for everyone. So, if you're looking for some Kansas memorabilia or souvenirs, give this place a shot.

I have been blessed with being able to travel all over this great country, but rarely I have ever…read morecome across such nice hardworking folks as inhabit this slice of Kansas. Special T is family owned and operated. Larry, his wife and sons offer up a first class experience. If you are looking for a guided pheasant hunt, look no farther. Here you are welcomed as family. I never once felt like a nameless number. The Mrs cooks up a fine spread and never did anybody leave not stuffed. Larry will entertain you with a million true life stories and advice. His sons will conduct the bird dogs like an orchestra and ensure you have a fun time on your hunt. We did not lack for birds, their were plenty. They have a large sporting clay course for warming up. The lodge is located a couple miles down the road. It's actually a restored 100 year old homestead with room for over 15 hunters. Full kitchen and a man cave poker room with shuffleboard on the 3rd floor. Very clean. We enjoyed just sitting on the front porch and enjoying the novelty of seeing no other people or homes in all directions. You are pretty much in a cell phone dead area, but they have wifi at the lodge.
