There were no gobbles to be heard in the mornings off roost and a novice hunter would have probably given up, went home and made a bad review. Being experienced hunters, me and the buddy I was with found the birds. On our 3 day hunt, we both got our limits in KS and NE. The lodging was comfortable and food was provided. I can't imagine how good it would have been if we had been there earlier in the season. We hunted some of the farms they guide deer on. We had several encounters with very big bucks that were only part way into their growing antlers. There were deer literally everywhere! If you book a hunt with Conyers Outdoors, know that they can put you in the best spots possible but they cannot control what the animals do. They have the animals, I've seen them myself. As far as needing to be "babied", you might do better to spend the extra money and go on a fully guided hunt. If you go on a semi-guided hunt like Joe does, you can't expect to see 200" bucks behind every tree. If that's something you need, you need to book with a high fence operation. Joe knows the deer and turkey on his farms. Keep in mind, these are also working farms. Deer see these farmers in these properties very often and have gotten use to them. Some "hunters" can't understand these things and out of the many many hunters Joe has had, I'd say that only 3 bad reviews is incredibly good. I will be back again soon!

His reasoning was he lost the lease. We both had taken time off bought 300 dollars in tags etc that couldn't be used as we had no time to try to book another hunt for that weekend as he cancelled on us Wednesday afternoon, we were to arrive Thursday. He offered to push hunt to next year which we declined, he refused to reimburse us for the lost money for tags, but did refund the hunt money. This was 100% on him for the cancellation and we feel he handled it poorly. His response was I had to cancel others and we are the only two to bitch which says a lot about us.... hope this doesn't happen to anyone else looking to book with him.
