It was structured, kids weren't allowed to run around and be distracting to other kids. For the last few years we have taken the summer months off, never been a problem until this year. I spoke to the center director at the time. He said it wouldn't be a problem and when we come back in September things would be the same. Well we went back September first and after his 3rd time attending he calls and says I need to go in to talk to them. So I went in and for 15 minutes I watched a child run around, eating candy, distracting other kids. The instructors were all eating pizza and not really paying attention to the kids at their groups. The kid had asked the instructor if he could have pizza, he was told no its for them only. OK but why eat it infront of the kids...I am very disappointed in the way this center is ran now. I was told if my child wants to continue there it might cost more because the previous person disenrolled him. I was told I would receive a call by Thursday, its now Monday and still have not heard from anyone. Maybe this was a blessing in disguise, save money on a place that was more like a frat house than a learning center.

Plus since they're only in first grade, it's just what we do as part of the elementary school process. My husband grew up on the in New Jersey school systems, and Miss G's 's approach reminds him very much of the discipline and curriculum he's accustomed to. Well, most days it's like pulling teeth for my kids, They get it done, and the progress has definitely shown. Both of them are pretty advanced for their math levels only several months into the school year. They are also definitely quicker than I am at adding and subtracting. Both of their teachers have also said that they'll definitely be well into multiplication before the school year is over. I definitely recommend the iPad approach personally- For our lifestyle which is constantly on the go and often on vacations. My middle school-age daughter really enjoyed going, and we loved the small class sizes. She went her entire 6th-grade year with no issues. I was the President of the PTO and spent hours of my own time and hundreds of dollars to support the school. This year, she had a few minor issues related to her autism and tic disorder come up that were completely blown out of proportion, and within a month she ended up being kicked out. She was not a bully and not violent. They did very little to work with her, and when we requested supports and accommodations they were refused. We have a pending discrimination case open with the state of Nevada and will be filing a complaint with the Nevada Department of Education. We are devastated with how this was handled. Though they claim to provide a supportive and inclusive environment for all students, this was not the case with us and it has happened to other families as well. Be wary of this school!

I started both my children in Kumon's reading program last week. It was so easy to set up a Parent…read moreOrientation. I got a call from Jamie, after filling out their online requests. On the phone I was asked information about my children. When I showed up, they gave them some worksheets to see what they knew. Then I was brought to Jamie's office and she talked me through her findings. She took my suggestions and made the enrolling process so easy. I can't wait to see results. I feared my son was falling behind in school and Kumon sounded like a much better option than tutoring. So far we're only doing reading but I will eventually add math. I wanted to start them off slowly and our schedule is pretty swamped at the moment. But that is my final goal. Before enrolling my child I researched as much as I could about the program. I looked at honest student review and asked parents how they like it. Parents give Kumon a thumbs up. The kids enrolled in Kumon complain about the extra work but thats no big surprise. I just care about the results. I'll update my review in a few months and let you all know how my kids are doing.

It took a bit of time for her to get comfy but she seems to enjoy it now. Mrs Melissa at the front office is so friendly and answers any questions or thoughts we have. The daycare also provides diapers and wipes which is so convenient! We bring in bottles and food but they also offer solid food from the kitchen that is safe for her to eat. We're also looking into getting our school aged daughter in for a week or two in the summer program. Overall this has been a great experience for us.

Terrible experience leaving the school…read more My two boys were selected for the their scholarship program, which provided 3 months of lower tuition. After some consideration, we ultimately decided to part ways after the scholarship concluded. Everything seemed fine until it came time to collect my children's belongings. Prior to starting school, the administration asks for 5-7 full outfit sets per child, depending on the class and if your child is undergoing potty training, in addition to other items like blankets, towels, etc The first bag of belongings the school gathered for me only contained blankets. Keep in mind, I had two kids attend this school. I wasn't given any heads-up about the lack of clothing and failed to check the bag until I got home as I genuinely trusted the staff to do their due diligence and collect everything. So I called to inquire about the other clothing and it took about 3-4 follow-ups until I was finally told to come pick up the clothing. However, this second bag did not include a single t-shirt or pair of socks. I was told they would search for those items and that I would get an update the following week, but never received a call. When I would call, the faculty would pass me off to each other, each assuring me they were working on finding the remaining clothes and apologizing for not getting back to me. It was obvious they wanted me to just forget about it. They mentioned searching through the laundry room, multiple classrooms, and other rooms. How all those t shirts and socks just disappear is beyond me. Not to mention, my son's favorite Bluey towel and a very nice North Face jacket. After waiting another week, I emailed the director, Lily Hernandez, to express my frustration over the situation. She's always been quick to email back so I was sure she'd offer a resolution. Wrong! She completely ignored me - not a peep. I waited and sent another email but still received nothing. I called and asked for her a few times but was always told she wasn't there. That being said, I've never experienced this level of unprofessionalism, particularly from the director of an educational institution. It was clear she couldn't care less about losing my kids' clothing now that I'm not paying the school. I'm still shocked by the lack of accountability, and this unfortunately highlights the sad state of today's educational climate, where any random, unqualified person can apparently wiggle their way up the administrative ladder without any genuine values or integrity, and end up running a school. Even if it's just a pre-school, we deserve better.
