I found Azzam to be self righteous and judgmental. While doing my blood work, unbeknownst to me, he did an HIV test!!! What?? How dare he?!! I ignored it though. Then on another occasion he recommended a vaccine, I think it was a hepatitis B vaccine (he told me because I travel I should have one!) I trusted him and took it. I later learned that Hepatitis B is usually caused by having multiple sex partners... I have been married to the same man for many years! I think he is sexist, possibly misogynist. However his saving grace is Catherine Warner the NP who works for him. She is wonderful. Super knowledgeable. I will only see her. read more

Syed Azam, MD - Internal Medicine Near Me - Rancho Mirage, California

I love this doctor's office. The doctor's and nurse practitioners here are honestly so nice. I try to have a list either written or mental notes (because I most likely forgot to bring my physical list haha) but I always have questions and they will answer them to the best of their abilities! This doctors office isn't the kind to just get you in/out (like yes, they're not gonna spend hours with you for a check-up, but they will address any questions or concerns you have). read more

My father has been going to this man for about 6 years, he has a very hard time walking and balancing sometimes to the point he almost falls over, he uses a cane but his insurance company issued him a Walker cause of how hard it is for him at times to walk long distances. I'm with my father daily helping him and have seen him decline. Doctor Izam always comments on his weight body shaming and refuses to give him a permanent handicap form for when he does have to run to the store himself and also ignores my father's many other ailments and always equal it to him being "just fat". My father was a construction worker for 20 some years his arms and legs are solid muscle, he was no slouch in his prime and because of his profession he now has two deteriorating disk in his spine that can't be fixed and he only found out about that from the hospital when he had a heart attack a couple years back and even with that knowledge that Izam has he still refuses to properly help my father. I'm surprised this doctor hasn't been reported to the medical board for his lazy practice in medicine for how he treats his patients. Do not recommend this doctor, stear clear of him. read more

Catherine Warne is the absolute best doctor. She is knowledgeable, caring and goes above and beyond. If I ever need to come in it's always quick, usually the same day. The office staff is great also. read more

The doctor is an asshole. The day before surgery the surgeons office called inquiring about my EKG that was required before surgery, they said the doctors office never did one. Thank god I asked for a copy before I left the office or surgery would have been delayed. Prior to the above, the only reason I knew I was being referred to a specialist was because of the referral approval letter I received from the insurance company. The doctor never called to discuss the results of my ultra-sound, in fact when I question them about this the doctor told me I could leave and have my EKG done elsewhere. When I questioned the long delay 2-hour in being seen by the doctor within a reasonable time of my appointment, the doctor again flipped out screaming at me that all his patients are told they may have to wait up to 4-hours even though they have an appointment. Who runs a business like this? Who treats their patients this way? Needless to say, I switched doctors immediately following my surgery & couldn't be happier. If you're looking for a great doctor, check out Dr. Albert Anderson. read more

I recently changed doctors and I am very pleased with Dr. Azam's staff who are very professional and Dr. Marupuru who is very through and takes time with my questions and explains every test results that come back and listens to my concerns. I am just thrilled to finally find someone who takes interest in her patients and doesn't just run you in and out . I will recommend my friends to this doctors office for sure!!! After reading some of these reviews I was very hesitant about seeing Dr. Azam, but since my insurance gave me no choice I took the chance. Well what I found was a very efficiently run office, the staff were very friendly and helpful and Dr. Azam was very pleasant and accommodating. I needed some referrals and there was absolutely no problem with getting them.. After working 15 years in the medical profession I give cudo's to Dr Azam and his staff for putting up with the negative patients....If I were you I would definitely give Dr. Azam the chance to be your primary care physician. read more

Very impressed with everyone at Dr Azam's practice. To the point, not too much waiting... My prescriptions sent right to my pharmacy and I get a text when they're ready. Dr. Azam advises you without being preachy. He listens to you, and checks for himself. Only one small negative. After a visit, I had a question. I called, went through the phone menu to talk to a nurses aid... when I got that far, it said "thank you for calling" and then hung up. Just a point for impovement. Overall VERY IMPRESSED and HAPPY! read more

First visit learning who I am,mention I have had a lot of pain over the years and he jumped in telling me I won't receive narcotics from him.Told amaz I DON'T take drugs and done accuse me of drug searching.Second: Both my wife and I came at the same time and he ordered blood work for both of us but he had a SYPHILIS test for me on the order.Hmmm, told him I live a clean life, maybe he was judging me from the tattoos?Next office visit I asked for a cortisone injection for a sore tendon and he said no and that it will heal on its own.The doctor wouldn't listen to me about having this same issue over the years. The PIG then released me saying he is not the doctor for me. I rate this doctor as a lazy ass who milks insurance for seeing people not treating much of anything. If you have a cold or syphilis ( ha ha) then go to him, anything else he will leave you the way you walked in.Foregien doctors suck, most of them are here to make money.Find a good old american doctor who understands more aggressive treatment.I had some of the best doctors before I moved.Save your time and money EVER walking I to his office.Front staff is also rude, you're just another body in the office. read more

Horrible service from Natalia and Alijandra! One hung up on me, called back 5 minutes later, then the other told me she was off in 20 minutes and could not assists me. Dr.Azam is a great Doctor, however the office "help" needs to learn how to treat people and not just shove them off because they dont want to do what they're supposed to. Also was told I couldnt talk to my dr, when asked why, I was not given an answer and even their answer from an earlier question changed from "no", to "its optional and we choose not to"...sounds personal unfortunately. read more

Dr. Azam is not only my doctor, he takes great care of my parents as well. I could not ask for a kinder, more knowledgeable or harder-working physician. read more

Dr is OK. Staff incredibly poor communications. Received an email cancelling an appointment which had been set for three months. Called twice to find out why it was being cancelled and to get new appointment. Both calls unanswered, and messages left were not returned. Day before the cancelled appointment I received a call "reminding" me of the appointment. I told that individual THEY had cancelled the appointment and I read her the email they sent. Also told her I had scheduled another appointment at that time because they had cancelled, and could not make another change at that late time.. The day after the appointment THEY cancelled in writing, I received another email, essentially chewing me out for not showing up for the appointment THEY cancelled. Three more calls were placed. None were answered. Messages were left each time. None was returned. Months earlier, I had an appointment where a new medical assistant rambled on about not liking tworking there because there were no children. Not a real good idea to tell patients/customers how much you hate working with adult patients--like me. That same assistant was called on their interoffice phone system to write an expedited order for a power chair in October. Expedited, as in lickety-split. Nobody could find her. Embarrassing to sit there while the NP wonders where she is now. And that expedited power chair--arrived four months later. Was hospitalized for six days following surgery for very large MSRA infection in January. I had been discharged from the hospital with a rather large open wound, requiring a wound vacuum and home health care. Dr Azam emphasized making a follow-up appointment with him in a half-week's time after discharge. When I called to make the appointment I was told "No." When I explained to the office manager Dr. Azam's urgency that I see him, again she said, "No. You'll have to see the nurse." Glad some kid with a medical assistant diploma contradicts the doctor's orders to the patient. Again, Dr Azam is OK. Staff--downright terrible. read more
