Jillian's Cakery is top notch! So good that I've already bought two small cakes and multiple slices in the space of a month from this place, not to mention, I've converted my work place as well and they now buy cakes from Jillian's for our work birthday celebrations / afternoon teas.
The reason I first tried Jillian's Cakery was because of their "Tres Leches" cake which means three milks in Spanish. This cake is really popular in the U.S so ever since I moved back to Australia, I have been on the lookout for a good 'Tres Leches'. Although the cake was good, it is more dense that the regular tres leches which is stated on the website description. It was still delicious, and I ate every last bite - but not exactly the same as you would get in the U.S.
Now, for the good stuff.. You NEED to get the Red Velvet Cake! I've purchased this cake twice for my family + fiance, and we have had this cake twice at work. It is AHH-MAAZING! Literally - it is heaven! Just try it - you will thank me later. For a slice of cake, it is $6 or you can get a small cake that feeds 8-10 for $30. The larger cake that we get for our workplace is $56 and feeds approx 20 people or more.
I have also tried the Devil's Food Chocolate Cake (which is very rich!), the caramelised banana loaf (delicious), the gluten free chocolate and pear cake and the pineapple coconut loaf (moist and amazing).
All in all - would definitely recommend Jillian's Cakery. My workmates and I are all hooked on this place! read more
